The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

I've played a LOT of MMOs and there's only two that I play regularly because they are truely unique from other MMOS, Firefall and Elder Scrolls Online. They also are the few who has first person and full controller support.

That's a great, informative post, but just to be clear for others, ESO doesn't currently have controller support on PC as far as I know. The only way to use a controller is to buy the console version.

Honestly I'm not interested in playing with a controller at all so I'm fine with that.

The F2P misnomer that keeps getting thrown around for this game is very annoying and misleading. The term carries certain connotations with it regarding the business model which does not apply to this game.

This game is addictive...between dungeons and campaign, im not getting much sleep.

Not sure how you are able to do dungeons. I group via the groupfinder and that only leads to 4 people questing and no one traveling to the dungeon. No one uses microphones either.

The dungeon experience for me is very sour so far. ( level 12)

I just went to the dungeon entrance and waited for people to ask me to join their group. Worked much better than the Group finder. They should change it so, that you have to be inside the actual dungeon and the players who join warp inside it.

They're discussing changing it so you all warp in when group is found, I heard. I've been able to do all the dungeons by just asking in guild chat, or asking people outside the dungeon (or group finder and demanding people plug headsets in).

Yep. ESO is the same as any other console game. You buy the game to play, that is it.

Still having a blast with this game! Up to level 27 now. I queued up for a dungeon this morning and one of the guys dropped right away. The other 2 people were really cool though and we ended up running 3 more dungeons 3 man without an issue. Certainly a blast!

I donated 500 gold to the guild bank as well. I'll prob dump in some more this week. I don't have a lot to spend money on except for more personal and bank space.

I used to do that, now the bank/personal prices are around 40k+ so I dont buy them anymore.

But you should check out those guild traders and narrow the search to show you only blue and purple items. Youll be surprised at the stuff you find in there.

My character is geared up in straight blue and purple gear. I dont even craft no more.

I haven't actually seen the page to buy stuff yet, but at the beginning of the game there was a tooltip talking about how I can purchase cosmetic things for my character. While ESO isn't F2P, that's definitely part of the F2P business model. Am I mistaken about this part?

I don't really have any experience with guild traders. Are these regular npcs that offer gear or GAF guild specific items for sale?

awww man, I did not know we could use wayshrines to travel between other wayshrines for free.
Stop....

Just stop right there

You're the all knowing yet you been dropping 84 gold Everytime you traveled?

Damn lol

I mean yeah it's free, but sometimes you just can't be bothered you know

Yea, they are just regular vendor NPCs that stand around in town. but the difference between a guild trader and a regular trader is a guild trader sells items that belongs to other players.

As you can see the guild "The Skooma Smugglers" own this stand. Think of it as a company renting this stand to sell their company's merchandise.

Any player can walk up to them and buy whatever items the guild's members are selling, from that specific guild trader.

obILKnJ.jpg

Each town has a area where there's like 3-7 guild traders standing around each other.

For example, if our guild gets this stand that the skooma smugglers have, any player that interacts with the guild trader at this stand can see what items we have for sale and can buy them from us.

Our guild trader will have our guild name above the guild trader so others know who the guild trader belongs to.

Its similar to buying a store in real life. If people want to buy the items your selling, they have to go to your store location to get them.

Thanks so much for that info. Makes total sense. I've never noticed them before.

I assume depending on town you're in there can be different merchandise since people are 'renting' the npc?

Yup, every town has their own guild traders, each with their own inventory. You can literally, go from town to town, and go on a shopping spree, trying to find good items at great prices. Make me feel like my ex-girlfriend, with all the shopping at so many different stores.

And the guilds can only "rent" the guild traders for a week, so next week, youll see all new guilds at those guild trading stands(if they lose the bidding match for said trader). So the inventory is constantly changing.

Pvp is kind of pointless unless I can warp directly to major battles.

Otherwise I'm lone wolfing it and getting destroyed

Uuuuuh I'm still missing the Nord motif! Would be awesome if you'd sell it to me :D PSN is Bahlor, but I can only pay up to 2k and motifs are actually worth a lot more. If you'd be happy with that, feel free to send it to me via cash on delivery. :)

i ve had an ui error every time i logged in for the last coupla days but it fixed itself yesterday.
Does anyknow know the cause of this? I was pretty scared tbh because the error said something about a problem in saved variables.

Game is great tho, i did the first dungeon with 2 randoms and it was really fun. Its a Shame the group finder takes so long to find people so if any1 fom the eu guild wants to add me to do dungeons and stuff that would be great. psn deathrowinmate66

And that's exactly what it is. You can just delete the saved data on your harddrive / cloud to get lost of this error. (Not the game data, just save game). The game only saves profile data in there as everything important is on their servers anyway. I'm also getting this error but I really don't care that much about the problem^^ As long as the UI is fine, I'm fine too. And as far as I know, the problem should be fixed with the next patch anyway.

I got in to one dungeon but every other attempt has ended like yours above.

As soon as the group is formed I put on my mic and communicate but no one else does, everyone just leaves the group after a few minutes or more like they don't know what's going on.

It's a shit tool, no one says anything in this game, it's like a single player with the odd background noise coming from a passing players mic.

I will ask in this thread as the roll call thread doesn't get read much.

Is there more than 1 EU guild on X1? I'm in NeoGAF and there is only 7 people in roster.

If there is another can I be added please GT: Djredline

Got a question about jumping in this game later down the road like a few weeks or even a month....

Two of us are thinking about this but we want to play Dying Light and knock this out in a few weeks. If we were to come in later on, how does the character levels work if you're just starting out and with some say Level 15 or higher?

We're playing Diablo 3 RoS and have been since the game hit the console...one reason why we're looking at this. With the Leveling and Gear system one can easily be overpowered or underpowered based on the difficulty level and loadout. We don't care to be riding coattails thru levels doing power leveling or in a group doing something we shouldn't be doing.

And one other question...on doing co-op, can you jump in random or someone jump in? In Diablo you set to invite, open or friends and can see where they're at. Is this a Drop In & Out? Thanks

I've been having a lot of fun with this game. Only thing that's still pretty daunting to me is the professions.

Haven't delved too deep into them.

When do I start finding instanced group dungeons?

Level 11 ebonheart dragonknight on NA. Psn: FiveSix4Three if anyone wants to group up later this evening.

It's not a co-op game. It's an open world RPG. If you and a buddy want to start questing, you just start the game and start questing.

Got my Templar to to 23 Sunday night, thoroughly starting to enjoy this game as I'm not at a point where I have 2 complete builds (DPS for solo play) and full Heals for Dungeons. My ultimate goal is straight up heals at 50, but the DPS part helps me blast through quests, etc.

I think it wasn't until I really put points into my racials (Breton) and passives that I began to notice a large amount of heals possible without go out of magic.

Dungeon finder has been pretty shoddy for me as well :'( This game needs a chat option BAD.

Other than that my experience has been as I'd hoped, and I can't wait to grind through to 50. Even with with limited play time I've noticed it's easier to level as I get higher, does the same hold true for 30+?

P.S. I'm not huge into grinding anymore so the quicker the better :)
