The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

Booted this game back up since I bought it before the PC launch a year and a half ago.

I'm having a good time, it's pretty much solo stuff so far and running around collecting skyshards and doing quests and what not. Got level 8 1/2 in like 3 or so hours with my Templar which I like since I can heal my self and others really well.

I noticed they added chat bubbles to the game, which I don't know why but makes me feel like I'm in an MMO, and have always loved them. Another thing is people actually chat in chat channels unlike FFXIV which is basically silent and I can't stand that, it's like the largest SILENT MMO I've ever played. It's funny too, because ESO I would say is even more solo oriented and lower levels, but people still love to chat.

I was thinking of switch to the PS4, but with no text chat or add ons I really don't think I will anytime soon.

Also, is there a unofficial way to use a controller on the PC?

I think this is the reason why 2H/bow and DW/2H are much more common pairings in the most popular builds for DK and NB.

In other games I number crunch and figure out how to get the most optimal builds.

I feel silly reading this, because in this game I'm kind of dicking around due to the freedom with weapons/armor so I'm running a Nightblade in heavy armor with 1h+shield.

I'm thinking of making this Aldemiri sorcerer I made last night my main. My Daggerfall Nightblade is fine and all, but the sorcerer is just SO much more fun (and a lot of the quests seem more interesting too).

I'll probably keep playing my DF guy so I can do PVP with you all and stuff though.

Templar is the best healer and a great healer at that. Playing with groups is pretty good, but not a easy to set up as you'd think it would be as the group finder is garbage. But if you've got friends, guild members or even just wait outside dungeons and group up with randoms its not so bad. This game is pretty heavily solo focused so keep that in mind if you are looking for pure group or co-op play.

Platinum, yeah. I decided I wasn't going to even consider trying the moment I saw the emperor trophy, and probably better for it since I'm having fun without caring about trophies at all.

55.25 is the exact current size of the game.

Thanks for the detailed reply, it's exactly what I needed to know. Yes I'm buying the game today.

Now a question about the templar: just in case I end up solo'ing a lot, when I have no allies to heal up, will my DPS be good enough? If I must focus on soloing, I might as well pick a better class at DPSing.

FUCK...........that skill is at level 1

but man, I had no idea bombard immobilized a group of enemies, then I can get rid of Cripple, as it immobilizes only a single target.

Lopoks like I need to change my skill layout, thats probably why im sucking at high level content.
Cripple is great for pvp, it gives a speed boost while making the enemy slower all the while a applying a decent DoT on the target. Its morph, Crippling Grasp, even immobilizes.

But yeah for PvE content and with Nightblades, CC oriented skills>Damage. So Bombard>Cripple for PvE. Keep in mind that Bombard's 'root' effect can be applied over and over, unlike stun or disoriented. It keeps mobs at a distance and you don't get run over or surrounded.

My only problem is finding bows in the game, the game hates giving bows as quest reward and I haven't level my woodworking. So I'm level 30 using a level 22 Bow, sucks. Might be forced to level woodworking to make decent bows.

I've never played a game like this before but I had money burning a hole in my PSN wallet so I splurged. Can I join the guild?
Of course

Just buy a bow? I bought a purple one for like... 1500 gold, was going to sell it for like 7000 gold more, someone will buy it, they always do

I never see bows around my level on sale on guild shops, always VR bows :/ not having any luck.

You won't have any issues. It might take you a little bit longer to take someone down, but you can still do a lot of damage and you hardly have to worry about your health, especially later in the game.

It's really up to you and how you prefer to play, best to do some google searching and see the best builds for solo play. I chose this one because it was one of the most recommended ones for solo.

Man I buy my bows, i got a purple one I bought for like 2 grand that increases drit damage and enchanted.

But MMMAAANNNNN, that scorched earth and bombard, HOLY SHIT. Its crazy to be able to wipe out a whole group so quickly like i was doing. I used to hate fighting three of three to four enemies, now its cake.

Still dont like them archers or magic casters though.

Went ahead and reworked my daggers too, to give me some health steal, stuns and DOTs mainly for fighting bosses.

Good stuff :)

Man I would like to get a good a gaf group for dungeon crawling, playing with strangers is alright but there's never a dedicated healer in the groups.

So apparently I can bite someone as a werewolf in 2 hours, just putting that out there

Only catch is, whoever I bite, has to pay it forward to another guildy please

im down for some dungeons.

But yo, I take back everything I said about the nightblade. Im having a BLAST now. taking out enemies super quick now. It was my skill set up and combos that i was using before that really fucked me over.

I went with that Bow for AOE and Daggers for Single targets and its doing wonders now.

The bombard and scorched earth combo really did the trick for fighting groups of enemies.

Its funny, like I would cloak to get close enough for bombard range and then hit them with the Scorched earth and before the arrows even hit, I slap em with bombard and just sit there and watch them get melted......so satisfying.

But for solo, I went with some new skills I havent used before after looking at all the skill morphs. And came up with this CRAZY fucking combo.

Hit them with Reapers marks
crouch for Stealth
teleport strike to stun the enemy for 2 seconds
hit them with the blood crave for DOT that also heals me
then vanish with shadowy disguise
and hit them with surprise attack to stun then again for 4 seconds
then, spam the shit outta surprise attack till they die.
Also by spamming surprise attack, im getting HELLA armor and spell resistance from my passive.

I LOVE IT!

I dont like it when some enemies are immune to stun, thats where Swallow Soul and Blood Craze comes in, to give me a nice steady stream of health during the battle, that also does AOE

I need to level up some more, I can't find bound anywhere, probably cause I can't morph it yet, found my mistake and grabbed scorched earth though

So can factions go into other factions' zones? Like, as an Aldimiri can I go to The Rift or do I have to stay in Aldimiri controlled zones?

I only got to play a little bit but I like it so far! I ended up subscribing to the "Plus" thingie. How/when will I see the benefits? Sorry to be annoying if this isn't the place to be asking stuff like that.

Well in your case, you won't see the benefits until you unsub

It's a 10% xp boost
So since your first time playing you have nothing to compare it to

Are you even in the guild or? I'm wary of giving it to people outside of it

NA Server, Daggerfall, I really want it paid forward to another member and not someone I'll never see in the OT again lol

Well plus the monthly crowns and stuff, right? I don't know when those kick in, but I thought that was part of Plus as well.

just 2 manned Elden Hollows with some dude, he has was a healbot. Man having one in a party makes such a huge difference in dungeons. We died a couple of times to the main boss, but once I got the timing right between abilities and stuff it was smooth sailing. Will post a vid later of that fight.

Completed all 3 dungeons in the second zone. favorite was Elden Hollows of the three, place looks nice, though the ending caught me by surprise, died once lol.

Finally figured out a way to clear out my bank and keep all my items.

Got like 5 mule characters. Each holding specific type of crafting items. Man, I havent seen my bank so empty in like...............ever. Now I can actually, put weapons and gear in there.

Ahhh, I'll look forward to that, then :)

You can also buy just crowns. 1500 crowns for $14.99, 3000 for $24.99 and 5500 for 39.99 to spend on speed, stamina for mount or carrying capacity. Think max space is 60. You can purchase these things with in game gold for 250 and can only buy every 20 hours or so.
