Finally played this last night for about 3 hours. Redguard warrior, level 5. I am enjoying it quite a bit. I've died a lot. I run away often right now.

Bought it and put my first two hours in with a friend. I know it is still very early, but I am very unimpressed so far. The graphics I can live with even though they look old, but the art style leaves much to be desired I think. WoW is over a decade old now but looks better than this game to me thanks to its art style.

The gameplay I need to spend more time with, but so far it doesn't feel "Right." And I could not give less of a shit about the story. I tried to care, but I really just can't so far. Saved the Queen from assassins on one of the Dominion's opening quests and it all just felt so....lifeless. Granted, I have never thought the Elder Scrolls Universe has had any truly worthwhile storytelling, so maybe I am biased.

Got this to play with friends, so I will continue to for a while longer. Not giving up, but first impression is shaky.

Just bought it today since i wanted to scratch my console MMO itch.

I guess the best way to go guild wise is with Daggerfall Covenant on NA (Xbox)?

i cant access crafting writs anymore...i originally started a crafting writ with my first character at lvl15, and accidently abandoned the quest for it. Ever since then i cant access them. Now im on a new character at lvl 30 and i cant access any craft writ quests. wtf.

Did you complete the certification quest on your new character???

I'm guessing the quest that you abandoned was the actual writ certification quest. If you don't complete them, you can't do the writs. No idea what alliance you are, but if you're DC you can go to Daggerfall and pick them back up from NPCs. One is in the mage's guild and the other is out front the fighter's guild.

It's crazy how quickly you gain exp in dungeons compared to doing random quests, just did wayrest sewers with 2 strangers and I leveled up 2 times.

has anyone encountered the bug where a quest called "the wyrd sisters" wouldn't start after
saving the citizens of deleyn's mill?

Man, I was wondering why in the hell you haven't leveled up in so long. I see you online all the time but you've been level 44 for ages it seems like. Dude just crafting and adventuring about looking for materials, lol.

LMAO. That about sums it up. To be honest man, I haven't been in the mood for playing this game lately. I been mostly playing Firefall again and just got into Phantasy Star Online 2.

I only been logging in to check up on my research, steal a bit here and there, collect the resources my hirelings bring me and add people to the guild.

Im getting more and more uninterested in this game by the day. And I feel the reason why is because the more I level up, the more unappealing my class feels, plus the fact that this game is very anti-social without the global/guild text chat.

Im a nightblade and man, this class, in my opinion, straight up sucks in the late game when playing solo.

When I was lower levels, I was being extra stealthy and killing dudes in one stealth hit and it felt great.

But as I level up, the enemies become more and more powerful, they are getting bigger and bigger health bars, some early-game boss enemies are now late-game regular enemies, and they are appearing in a large number of groups. combos that used to kill a whole group of enemies out right, no longer works.

The more I level up, the weaker I feel. My character doesnt feel powerful at all in my opinion. I feel like I HAVE to be in a group or need the help of random strangers close by to get through some of this content. I've sometimes would wait and sit till someone comes to help me fight.

And all my gear is blue quality or higher and my lowest level item is 41, and im level 44 so its def not the gear.

Its just the play style I was using just isnt that viable anymore and its making me lose interest in the game really quick.

The enemies are hitting harder, and for some reason, my stealth cloak isnt fooling enemies like it used to, be having enemies still running up to me even though im cloaked and sometimes my cloak will fall off immediately when I need to do a hasty retreat, plus the numerous bugs like the weapon disappearing glitch(another video of the weapon disappearing glitch), the glitched boss battles and the resetting boss battles all just adding up to one big disappointing experience as of now.

Im at the point where I just wanna hurry up and blast through the story just to get it over with, get to level 50 and just retire the dude so I have all the skill points I need for all the crafting perks so he can be a master crafter, and then, roll as a templar.

Im having more fun, stealing, collecting materials and crafting than the combat at this point.

I would like to play more in groups, with more people, but with this games extra-ass social features, I have to rely on PSN social features to get people to join me and that sometimes doesnt go as planned, so id like to ask randoms, but I cant do that since, no chat and the dude or gal aint in the area chat.

So I gotta do the content solo, and at this point, I just flat out dont even feel like doing it. It feels like a chore at this point.

Plus, it aint like this game's community is keeping me coming back. Can't even text chat my own damn guild in-game.....................

So yea....................there's that.

I'm not quite as frustrated with the game but also playing as a nightblade and yeah the later in the game you can you get with this class the harder it seems. I see other players around me playing as different classes just rolling through dungeons and taking down enemies much quicker and easier than me. I never really used to die much but it seems to be happening more and more as I go. The only reason I'm still able to solo a lot of it is my werewolf transformation. Started playing as a dragonknight a while ago in EP and even though I'm still pretty low level I'm having more fun with that class.

I must say that I'm having a blast as a VR5 templar. My survivability is crazy. I've soloed everything excluding 4-man dungeons. And when I get tired of soloing I can easily switch to healbot mode for dungeons.

See this is exactly what I want to do.
I got a level 15 templar in Ebon, and I was going through the same story quest I did as a nightblade, and MAN, what a big ass difference it was.
Was strolling through that shit much easier.
The lance attack is HELLA powerful and mines heals me, the ranged fireball can hit multiple enemies, two handed weapons are baller as fuck, can heal myself and other players, and that AOE sun ultimate, holy shit.
I wish I would have rolled that class from the start.

But I usually play the assassin type in elder scrolls and seeing just how powerful it was in older elder scrolls games, I thought it was going to be the same here, and in the beginning on ESO, it surely felt that way.

Reading this was interesting because lately, perhaps not so much earlier in the game but more so now that I've spent a considerable amount of time with it. I'm finding this game to feel very lonely, given that it's an MMO is one thing, but I went into it with the idea of playing it like a solo game but even then there's something about it that just feels very very lonely. Something I never experienced in an ES game before, I felt like I lived and breathed in those worlds and communities within those worlds, where as here I don't, at all.

But in regards to difficulty. I'm a Templar and it's the complete opposite. I was struggling a lot more early on where as now I can roll through just about anything. Especially with a Fire staff and Destructive Clench which knocks enemies back. Unless it's a really large enemy I can knock anyone back, they hardly hit me or even get close to me. Unless they've got a ranged attack, they have little chance of doing damage to me, and even then with healing abilities I don't die that often. It's definitely an easy class.

Edit: Just want to add that I was also feeling like I was done with the game around the same level, I was tired of the same areas and asked for the best grinding areas just a week ago and I'm glad I did because being in a new area has definitely helped my interest in the game increase.

Are there any relatively quick ways to level? I had to make a second character so I could play with my Aldemiri friend, but he's a level 39 and I'm a 3. Questing with such a high level player is just not fun at all.

Zenimax, PLEEEEEASE add in cross-alliance grouping. It's so dumb that that isn't a feature to begin with.

As someone posted you can level up pretty quick doing group dungeons and there's also some spots where enemies repsawn quicky that can use to grind.

I am an exnightblade.

That class stopped being fun for me around level 7 or so. So I dropped it before I wasted anytime.

Currently around level 11 and enjoying my Templar.

I quit my nb because it didn't seem to look so cool skillwise after awhile. Didn't feel too weak, but good know I dodged a bullet there.

Okay, awesome. My buddy and I tried a group dungeon earlier and got destroyed because it was just the two of us, and all the enemies were the same level as him. But I'll try another one tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

If you're the group leader and enter first the enemies in it will scale to your level instead. Should make it much easier.

Well that scaling didn't work then because me and my buddy got two shotted as soon as we entered.

It was just two of us, but I'm failing to see how adding another guy or two would help keep us from being two shotted.

Bit the bullet and bought the Imperial version for the PS4 (digital). Very excited to play it.

I've tried MMOs before (Aion via Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro and FFXIV Beta mainly), but dealing with technical issues and monthly subscriptions turned me off for a long time. So I'm excited to play an MMO without having to tinker with anything or worry about maximizing my play time before the month is up. ESO was probably conceived with people like me in mind, lol.

Also, almost every video I've seen on Youtube about this game has been on 3rd person. Is first person mode not good or something? (I prefer first person.)

-Edit-
My PSN is RecalledBurger, by the way. If you guys want another member for the clan, send me an invite! I got the rest of the summer off to play games. =D

I still don't get why text chat is not option, their reasoning for not including it doesn't even make sense.

I started a NB after watching a couple of Deltia's videos and I was surprised at how easily it went down compared to my Breton sorc. My sorc waltzed through pretty much the entire quest, whereas this nb goes down if more than one enemy comes at him, despite crafting him some really good armor and putting most of the char points into health/stam. It's a fun class though so I'll stick with it for now.

Man if nightblade really sucks at end game I'm just going to go back to leveling my dragon Knight then that's only a level 10, or roll a mage, I'm sure they will buff the nightblade eventually. Maybe I will roll a mage, I have yet to roll one of them yet

But then I read all this and might change my mind
https://m.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/327mvc/why_does_my_nightblade_sucks/

I wouldn't say that nightblade sucks. More that it is a straight DPS class with low survivability. Honestly stick to it. The class is brilliant.

You are more inclined to use third person because of the AOE, you must ser what's hitting you from all directions and that is not possible in First Person.

For those who've been playing a dual wield nightblade, I'd suggest trying two handed for soloing.

2H puts out better damage against the tougher mobs, and it lets you control the battlefield better with skills like Critical Rush and Wrecking Blow.

Cool I will try this
Like the Reddit post mentioned as soon as you use Scorched Earth follow it up immediately with Bombard and keep spamming it so they can't escape Scorched Earth AoE all the while doing damage with Bombard. It destroys mobs in seconds.

Dual Wielding is good for single targets, my DW bar priotize single targets with high burst DPS. Bows for CC and sustained DPS.

Yeah I just have to find where bombard is locat

It's one of Arrow Spray morphs.

FUCK...........that skill is at level 1

but man, I had no idea bombard immobilized a group of enemies, then I can get rid of Cripple, as it immobilizes only a single target.

Lopoks like I need to change my skill layout, thats probably why im sucking at high level content.

Hi guys. I'm tempted to buy this game.

I've greatly enjoyed playing Guild Wars as a monk and healing/protecting guildies was insanely rewarding.

How is healing and team play here? What class/race is good at it? Looks like templar would be my choice.

Edit: getting the Platinum trophy must be insane/next to impossible in this game but I'm fine with it...

Edit 2: just one more question... Assuming I purchase the game digitally NOW, how many GBs of download estimated total for base game, patches etc?

ah, I may do the same. Daggers for bosses and solo targets and Bow for group targets, great idea.

Dual wield also has a built-in aoe option in Steel Tornado.

My problem with dual wield is that it's single-target DPS is significantly outclassed by 2H against bosses.

I think this is the reason why 2H/bow and DW/2H are much more common pairings in the most popular builds for DK and NB.

Templar is the best healer and a great healer at that. Playing with groups is pretty good, but not a easy to set up as you'd think it would be as the group finder is garbage. But if you've got friends, guild members or even just wait outside dungeons and group up with randoms its not so bad. This game is pretty heavily solo focused so keep that in mind if you are looking for pure group or co-op play.

Platinum, yeah. I decided I wasn't going to even consider trying the moment I saw the emperor trophy, and probably better for it since I'm having fun without caring about trophies at all.

55.25 is the exact current size of the game.
