Performance is fine, but IQ is more important in screenshots :P

Still, at least you don't have that awful armour ColonialRaptor puts on his character, it's nice to see something different in this thread :P

I don't mind the armor, but all the ultra glam mods made my coworker ask me if I was looking at Real Doll fan fiction websites. It was...awkward.

My list of found realistic/hardcore/immersive/whateverthehell mods:

Revised Horses - Adds saddle bags to horses, the ability to follow you - walk when near, sprint when far -, and the need to feed them daily to maximize their speed. Use this mod alongside Cowardly Horses for best results. Example: during a fight, horse runs away and sprints back to me as soon as it's clear.

Horse armor! - Free Skyrim DLC. Don't tell Bethesda.

Realistic lighting without Post Processing - Bring a torch or candlelight spell, because these nights and dungeons are dark! Also, ambient light is greatly reduced, so for example, the darkest parts of the College of Winterhold are difficult to see in. However, 747823 will also be improving and expanding it once the CK is released, so these issues will be fixed! On using this with ENB: It could be compatible with ENB mods, but most aren't configured with this mod in mind. The results are awful, more often then not. I would love to see someone create an ENB profile made with this mod in mind.

Advanced Food and Rest (WIP) - Combined with the console command, player.setav healratemult 0.0 (be careful with this!), and you have a setup where you have little health regen and you're dependent upon food/potions. Not for the faint of heart.

Momentum (WIP)- Adds momentum to your character and makes running more akin to Mirror's Edge, where you progress to sprinting speeds and it takes time to start/stop. This is opposed to the default walk/run and run/sprint binary system Skyrim has. Encumbrance will also effect speed/momentum.

Realistic Running Speed - Running speeds balanced for realism.

Rudimentary Hypothermia (WIP) - Make Skyrim feel as cold and as harsh as it appears.

Real 1st Person View (WIP) - This mod is in alpha and could break your game, not to mention it's very feasibility is in question. Back up the files it modifies beforehand! That being said, there is potential here and we should keep an eye on it.

Deadly Traps and Sickly Diseases - Traps are to be feared, not shrugged off.

Subliminal Traps - Traps are to be well hidden, not made obvious.

Weighted Lockpicks - A true thief carries a little as possible.

Realistic Coin Weight - No more hauling around your own personal bank.

Realistic Ragdolls and Force - Bodies no longer fly all over the place when struck.

No Limit for Lifting Bodies and Objects (to be used with RRF above) - Use light objects and bodies.

AutoAim - Use no autoaim to disable autoaim.

No NPC Greetings - Skyrim no longer revolves around the Dragonborn.

Move it Dammit - NPCs are now blessed with the ability to know when to get the hell out of the way.

And then there are the big ones:

Pluto's Improved Skyrim Experience (PISE), Wars in Skyrim (Rainbow Mode), and Duel - Combat Realism.
If you plan on using these three together and need a load order, I post could mine. I recommend using BOSS, otherwise.

Wow mod armor is picking up. Skyrim seem to allow far better armor detail than Oblivion and fallouts. I wonder how far the game will be when the GOTY edition hits. I'll be picking up that one.

I really like these enb/fxaa injector settings. I can't remember who made them, but they had a Kermit the frog avatar. I think they're a little too bloomy when you get up to snowy areas in the sunlight, but otherwise they're nice for me. No crazy blurring or extreme night darkness. Just adds some color and sharpness to the game, which is what I like the most.

How about armor that isn't A) a halter top & hot pants or B) a skinsuit?

...Where can I get those? D: I don't see any of the cool looking armors on Nexus..

Looks way too blurry for me.

Holy crap at some of that armor! Looks like Uncharted quality!

Guys...

I HAVE FOUND THE BEST ARMOR PACK EVER.

GET IT NOW.

Also - I'd like to say, that while there are so many good mods on the scene, I don't think anyone has quite grasped how to capture the idea behind the vanilla ice and re-create it in more detail yet. All they've done is add more noise and more shine to the ice, but it makes it no longer look like Ice and rather a big crystalline formation and it loses all of the greatness that the artists put into the art design of the Ice to begin with which is disappointing because the Vanilla ice textures are so shit unfortunately.

There are a couple that help out a bit, but not quite how I want them too, it's one area that is slightly lacking, not a big problem. Retexture work should never just involve adding more noise / sharpening / bump mapping textures because it just makes everything look messy, the texture packs in which the guys remake everything from scratch - now they are great :)

Also, I love the Dohvakiin hideout, I covered all the mannequins in the armory with different armors yesterday, It's so cool just walking around the room and going 'hmm what shall I wear today' instead of wearing the same thing all the time. Love it.

I also crafted a set of gear which I enchanted with all Alchemy improvement bonuses so that when I brew potions they are strong as ferk, so I brewed a bunch of 'Fortify Smithing 109%' potions, and I then crafted another bunch of gear which I enchanted with all Smithing improvement bonuses (and a necklace and ring) so I had a total of 23% + 23% + 23% + 23% + 23% + 23% + 23% + 109% = +247% Smithing and I improved some of my weapons and armour by more than double (obviously) I thought I could. They were Legendary before and they all turned to Epic now - does that mean it's the highest upgrade now?

Here are a few shots of the Armours in that armour pack I linked above:

I really much prefer the realistic lighting mod to the injectors. Doesn't really drop performance any either.

I seem to have an issue where the dragon never lands and saves my ass during the introduction. I dunno if it's the latest patch or one of the mods I've recently installed.

I dunno if any of you guys are like me and intend to play this game like... Forever, but these two mods are just about the best thing that I could have hoped for.

1. Level Uncapper
Uncaps your level cap from 81 to 252 and raises the skill cap for each skill from 100 to 300. Perfect for me because a few of my skills are already maxed and I want them to be higher and it's always fun to feel like you're always 'improving'. I'm sure I'd get sick of the game if I reached the level cap and couldn't go any further any more, rather than start a new character I want to completely wipe the game and finish every little nook and cranny. I'm aware that's probably going to end up taking me between 500 - 1000 hours but so be it
3AQmK.gif

2. Uncapped Perks
Then, because it seems funky to just be levelling up the Skills with no further perks to add, well this kind fellow has added a large number of perk additions to each of the skills, and it's a cool thing too. I imagine by those really high levels (I'm playing on Master) that the enemy is going to be some powerful MOFO's so I'm going to need all the help I can get, but we'll see how it all goes, anyway, I think this is cool.

Where can I download all of these?

Edit - MOAR.

Found a new Vanilla Armour retexture project, this guy is NUTS and VERY VERY GOOD.

1. Hvergelmir's Armor Retexture
He's only done a couple so far, but I can't wait until he's done the whole lot, he is doing a magnificent job of his work so far, and in terms of Armor re-textures this is easily - EASILY the top of class mod released so far.

2. Hvergelmir's Shield Retexture
Same as above, but for shields. The other mods all use the original textures and 'upscale' this guy is completely re-creating them from scratch.

Edit 2 - Looks like SkyrimNexus has undergone a server upgrade, they have been straining under the load of things lately and everything is running much faster so it looks to be a good thing :)

Omg, these mods are crazy. 200 level cap, wonder if there will be an insane monster level upgrade and loot to support it.

And this is where those mods you asked about can be found https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rF2CkhfAPAs (read the youtube description) http://paparoach-slowdown.blogspot.com/

Well it's a place where the links are posted in one spot. Some people aren't uploading mods to skyrim nexus.

I noticed :)

I've found so much cool stuff outside of SkyrimNexus the last couple of days, it sucks that there is so much extra work involved in finding stuff, but it's also fun to have to search for stuff :)

Those are pretty nice, but I'd like to see more mage robes. I'm pretty much a pure mage in my game (I haven't picked up a single point in any weapon or armor skill), but the vanilla robes are so boring looking.

There are more armors in that set that I posted that it shows in the screen shots, and there are some seriously good mage outfits in that 'Lord of War' set.

There are heaps of awesome Mage outfits.
Dragon Priest Armour

Greybeards Dark Archmage Robes

Grey Gandalf Style Archmage Robes

Psijic Archmage Robes

Light / White Trimmed Archmage Heavy or Light Robes

Sunburst Archmage Robes

Oblivion Styled Mage Robes (personally I quite like the look of this one)

Archmage Robe to Nocturnal Robe Replacer (the best robe for females right? Although as common as bacteria on a toilet)

Arynns Revealing Archmage Replacer (not too bad, almost tastefully done)

Armour Battlemage Robes - AWESOME If I was a mage I'd be using this.

Archmage Texture Pack - if you don't want to deviate from standard here are some good options without changing too much.

Sejh Archmage Custom Archmage Outfit, not too bad.

Lore Friendly Armor Pack (includes Dwemer Mage Armor which looks kickarse)

Also - This link here is a GOLD MINE of custom armor, clothes and hair mods that I haven't seen yet (they're not on Nexus). It is awesome. Some of them are crazy and over the top, but some of them are great. I haven't been able to check them all in game yet, but will do soon.

GOLD MINE OF CUSTOM SHIT

The hairstyles especially are good IMO, it seems like the hair is so much better than Coolsims which is just way to clean for the Skyrim world for me, but the Vanilla hair is also just so crappy, some of these might be just right for what I'm looking for :D

Edit - Found some more.

Psiijic Re-Skin (this is an awesome set!!!) I've decided that I want to be a mage at some point in the game and now that I have the level cap mod I think I'll be able to get all perks for all skills so I should be able to be a mage if I want too which means I'll be able to wear some of these fancy clothes which might be fun :)

These look cool, my concern is how they are balance in the game and if they are OP or UP. UP and you won't use them, OP and the game is too easy.

I wish Bethesda would design more fantastical looking armour sets and weaponry into the game and make it lore friendly.

Just got a Steam update I think.

Not sure what it is though.

edit: my exe is 1.4.2

edit 2: :lol no final update this week they said in their twitter. "Beginning in January" my ass

It seems like it has just a few armor and weight, nothing huge. You can enchant them yourself.

Enchanting mod.

Where can I get some of those hair styles? I guess I should also ask if there are any good hairstyle packs I should download.

The hair mods are at the same spot as the armor mods. It's under "Other Tera Mods" on that page.

Yeah, there are four main custom hair packs going around. Currently I'm using one of the hairs from the Tera hair pack. Personally I think the hair from that pack is the best.

However, i think the default texture for that hair looks too 'anime' so I'm using a Coolsims Hair Pack custom texture that is called 'Ragged' and it makes the hair seem much more like real hair. Looks good :)

Alright, so here's what I'm thinking; Monster Hunter Dragon AI routines.

It would require adding animation and AI, and would probably work best in flatter areas, and it may require the Construction Kit, but I think this could be a decent addition to the Skyrim Mod scene.

My question is, how the hell do you guys take such breathtaking shots from that distance?

Is there a free camera mod or something?

type "tfc 1" into the console and you can pause the game and detatch the camera.

while using tfc 1, if you want to get the "depth of field look" you can open up either the armour or magic menu, and you can see that the game gives it that unfocused distance - however the menu is in the way, so you can type 'tm' into the console to make the menu's disappear.

Now you must remember that after you've typed in 'tm' you have to press "`~" button again to make the console go off screen (even though you can't see it) in order to take a screenshot. I spent a whole 4 hour session taking what I thought to be some of the best screenshots, like... I specifically spent that play session collecting screenshots and more than half of them were not saved because I didn't close the console

Also guys... I've recently found something. This is very important.

IF ANYONE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FPS OUTSIDE BUT NOT INSIDE READ THIS

The biggest, and I mean THE BIGGEST performance hit to the game is the mountains and rocks textures - BAR NONE. I have been using a 4096 'high res rock' pack for a while now and while my computer has dual 7970's in certain situations when I was outside my framerate was grinding to under 30fps. I've been looking for a solution for SUCH A LONG TIME. The thing is, whenever I wasn't outside and I turned off Vsync and FPS limiter it would going up to 200+ sometimes, but generally fluctuate between 120 and 180fps, but for some reasons, only in certain areas, outside I would crunch right down to sub 30fps.

So, I disabled all of the mountain texture packs and rock packs, and viola - no more problems with frame rates outside, it also seems like my CTD problems have been alleviated as well, so I don't know if those texture packs are just SO HUGE that they cause memory leaks or what.

If anyone has a computer and they're trying to boost performance without really losing much 'visual' splendor. Try this mod: Mountains Performance Boost, the guy has halved the size of the vanilla textures, however made them look more clean in the process so you can hardly tell the difference unless you go up and stick your face against the rocks.

It's a worthy trade off in my opinion - here I am adding hundreds of mods to my game looking for perfection in visual splendor, and honestly the alternate rock mods are pointless, I went back into the game and I was looking for a difference and I could hardly notice it.

Alright, so here's what I'm thinking; Monster Hunter Dragon AI routines.

You mean to the dragons? Or just any creatures in which they apply? Could this be done? Could those AI Routines be taken out of Monster Hunter or would they just have to be re-written for Skyrim from scratch? It's a wonderful idea! I really like the idea of there being swarms of dragonlings as well.

One thing I wish there was is a facial animation / expression system.

I don't know, I'm just going off of what mods I've seen so far. I know that AI routines can be altered somewhat (Cowardly Horses)and that dragons and other creatures can be shrunk or physically altered (My Little Skyrim Ponies/Macho Dragon/Pet Dragon?). I do wonder if the AI could be made in such a way as to cope with the much more various terrain of Skyrim vs the Monster Hunter set areas; that game has the advantage of having known restraints and tightly controlled terrain variations. If it is possible, I'm sure it's going to require the Construction Kit. Deadly Dragons is nice, but to fight something like a rampaging Tigrex... damn.

Woah, what's going on with ENB?

24 january 2012

Official beta 1.4 patch for TES Skyrim is released, finally. Not tested it yet, will see if it fixed critical bugs to make full speed ENBSeries without internal patch code.

24 january 2012

Bugthesda with TES Skyrim patches are still leaders in bugs programming, banzai! Do you like performance of new patch? Okay, do you know that it must be by default for any game developed by not out of mind programmers? And again, critical bugs are not fixed, same corrupted graphics because of vendor hacks and BSOD problems. If bugthesda developers are so smart to steal modders work, why they are so stupid that can't get fixes from my patches and mods?
Because bugthesda pro dudes are such idiots with big salary, don't expect completely optimized ENBSeries graphic mod, the game is unplayable for me without patches and they decrease performance by turning off vendor hacks. Replace improper code with my own is not my business.

26 january 2012

Seems my words in topics for developers of TES Skyrim about bugs fixing will not be heard. Only gamers writing delirium of different kind, like Skyrim is too modern to run on my pc and it's for win7 only. Also that i should attack Georgia or Baltic countries and to get hardware trophy in there. Again i'm started to thing about idea to divide project on to free version, for sale and with protection from fools. If you are from country which "suffered" from russian federation, leave this site and remove ENBSeries, it's much better for you to listen goverment propaganda about poor people of your country. Brains need to be cleaned in the morning by a cotton swab and kerosene.

26 january 2012

Okay, that's enough. I can't speak to people who unable to listen and not having knowledge in 3d programming at all, but talking to me from position of very compitent in all hardware and software stuff speaking to boy who came to buy his first pc in to the shop. I can't spend the time any more to proove anything. If my hardware is so shitty, buggy and old to handle Skyrim, as bugthesda fanboys saying, i need money to buy Win7, new high end pc and all models of videocards with Crossfire and SLI, for testing purposes. From now, ENBSeries for TES Skyrim is split in two versions, one is free, another is for sale. Imagine yourself what the difference will be in commercial version. No tech support of freeware version for TES Skyrim. Only some "old" vip users will have an access to commercial version for free. May be i'll change opinion when bugthesda will do the game as it should.
PS: j-rpg ps2 games are 1000 times better than Skyrim and without bugs.

Woah. What does this mean for enb users?

That's kinda confusing.

So he's pissed off with how Bethesda is handling the bugs and about their fanboys so he's going to create a paid for version of ENB?
