He followed me a lot as well. Made for some interesting times during the Dark Brotherhood quests.

He knew that once he was in he was in.

I have to say a big thank you to 6 people: wilflare, Twinduct, jim-jam bongs, RelaxMX, An1lusion/Anilusion & Chesskid1. I woke up today to find they apparently all went in together to get me Skyrim. I don't think I can sufficiently express my gratitude since this is my most wanted game ever, but no doubt I will be playing all month. My heart is happy!

Wow, is it your birthday or something? I wish some people would do that for me, lol.

Nope, just good friends and good people. I'm lucky I guess. Also add xenoflux to that list, not sure how I missed his name in the message since he's like one of my best Steam friends.

Urgh, this is why i find Morrowind mods so much better, Oblivion character mods are largerly very repulsive, style being at odds at Oblivions style. The clothing is even worse.
Sure, they're well made, but not Oblivion. Most Morrowind mods fit the game so much better. Most, not all and Oblivion has a fair share of good mods as well.
Stop being silly, I want to play an Elder Scrolls game as it was intended: as an anime character surrounded by dirty medieval people.

I've put 7 and a half hours in and it's entirely living up to expectations so far. The world is visually very beautiful and just begs to be explored, and the combat is a lot of fun. I love the kill animations, some of them are particularly brutal. I've mostly been spending my time doing minor side quests, exploring the area and hunting animals for pelts to make armour. Also, the dungeons really do seem quite unique so far, everyone looking visually different from the last (although I'm still early in) and with a fair amount of hidden loot to be found. It's been a ton of fun so far and I've really got that good old Elder Scrolls vibe of wanting to see and explore everything, plus any misgivings I had about stuff like the recharging health seem unfounded as the gameplay seems well balanced, with a fair amount of challenge.

Here's a few more random screenshots;

Thanks for the impressions, mate. Have some friends what would want to play this on PS3 so I'm glad to hear the positivity.

Good stuff. Does the world feel about as large as Oblivion, or bigger, smaller?

I always thought the character models in Morrowind were superior to those in Oblivion, despite being less detailed. The Dunmer looked and sounded alien, as they should have. The other elf races looked distinct, as did the different human races, the Argonians, Khajitt, and Orcs. You almost get a sense that in Oblivion, the character designers just got lazy: The Dunmer were basically blue Altmer.

Also, that Adoring Fan video reminded me of how wacky and floaty Oblivion's physics could be.

I'm sure the 360 vs. PS3 conclusion will be the usual - same amount of detail but the 360 having deeper blacks and more vibrant colors.

Bootaaay, did you like Oblivion very much? Would you say Skyrim might be great for players who never really got into Oblivion and found it kind of boring?

Do you still have to recharge enchantments in this game? I always hated that crap. Tedious.

Yes.
Soulgems are still in. And according to the Enchanting perks wiki page there is a perk that confirms you still recharge

gross. about as much of a waste of time as repairing weapons and armor.

Great job on the OT Blue Ninja!

Just built my new PC in anticipation for Skyrim. Bethesda RPGs, especially the Elder Scrolls series, have always been special occasions for me because it meant "time for an upgrade". I realize it was probably unnecessary since my last upgrade occurred during Fallout 3, but I always want to maximize my experience when it comes to Bethesda's magnum opus.

How are the enemies?

Are you running into dungeons that are above your level at all or has everything you've come across been pretty doable?

I think that it'll be pretty easy to stay within your level. Todd Howard said early on that elevation = difficulty (roughly; there are L1 wolves on mountain peaks and L-ohshit- giants wandering the tundra), so if you stay away from mountains you should be all set.

This really is not a spoiler, but
it's when you unlock your shout and basically harken in the random dragon attacks across Skyrim, enabling you to absorb souls.

Thanks! Glad it's living up to your expectations, can't wait to play it for myself.

Edit: WTF? GAME has already shipped my copy. Anybody had their copy shipped yet?

It hasn't even provided a tracking number but it still has sent me an e-mail saying it's been shipped and it should be delivered to me shortly.

Strange. I hated repairing stuff but never had issues with re-charging enchantments.
Of course in Morrowind they recharged automatically and in Oblivion i simply didn't care enough to recharge them (or i copied charged Azura's Star via scroll glitch a thousand times to recharge stuff, can't remember which)

Ah, that's what I asked earlier. Awesome thanks. Is it AFTER the request or before you talk to that Jarl?

Hey, i work for a big online retailer and can confirm that as of yesterday 6pm we didn't have any in stock yet, but should be in any day now. For us, as soon as a product hits the warehouse and there are orders for it, the bad boy gets shipped! Sounds like you may be getting lucky!! git.

Asked this earlier, but anyone have any insight as to the low memory install for the 360 version? Are they using some new amazing compression or is it a case of where all the dungeons/caves the same textures, just different layout etc?

Pulled the trigger on IntKeys for a total of 33.24 with a discount code.

How'd you get a discount code?

I emailed them about the lower price point from gamerkeys, so hopefully they'll price match gamerkeys 30, and add a discount on top of that.

I'll be reporting here if that ends up happening.

Here's the post I just made in the CD Keys thread :)

It installs common assets to the HDD and loads the rest from the disc.
I'm not aware of whether or not there is a full install option, but the actual size of the game is almost 8gb.

The PC version is a 6Gb install, which is pretty damn small by modern standards, when it comes to big-budget titles.

You know the PC version has to be activated via Steam, right?

I hope so. I hope it's not one of those things where they send it early and the Royal Mail / whichever delivery company hold it for a bit. I think I had that with MW 2.

I just got the email too.

Shortly better mean tomorrow morning.

I could live with that. But realistically, I'm expecting it on Thursday at the earliest. Anybody else that ordered from Game had an e-mail yet?

Also, I watched the full Skyrim northern lights video. I couldn't help it. The visuals combined with Soule's amazing ambient music really gets me.

When you install 360 games, it installs the full game, not partial. So I don't think that is accurate and the PC version only requires 6gb HDD space, so it is impossible that the game is almost 8gb if the PC version only needs 6gb of space.

Ahh! Thank you. That will make exploring so much more fun. If you hadn't told me that I probably would have ignored the main quest completely.

I thought someone may have had shots by now, don't know. I want to see something though!

Yeah, I have been looking for PC shots as well, but nothing has been found as of yet. I am more concerned that they have full controller support, where the icons are the same icons on the 360 version like many PC games. For example the new Lord of the Rings game on PC, once you hit "Controller" in the options it identifies the 360 pad, and all button icons are changed in-game.

I just pray it is not the complete cluster fuck that is Battlefield 3 when it comes to 360 controller support for the PC version.

I hear there BROTHER lol

I would just get the SE in that case and bank on it working. I know I'm gonna buy the DLC knowing I have the RU version but I will cross that bridge when i comes. If I have to hunt an RU DLC key then I will.

PC controller support is the same as it is for FO3 and NV, so yeah it flips the UI when you toggle the controller on. They had perfect 360 controller support out of the box.
