I don't know about you guys, but after 30 hours I'm kinda happy with the default favourites setup. I tried using the hotkey mod, but having to press left bumper as well was annoying and I get all panicky in game and don't remember which hotkey is which.

What I really want is a mod that will allow me to assign a separate favourites menu for each direction of the D-Pad. What I'm trying to say is that I can assign 2 particular items to up, 2 to right, 2 to left, 2 to down. Then, when I press those buttons I only have to cycle through two or three favourites.

BTW, anyone know why the the side buttons on the D-Pad do nothing by default?

Because those two are hotkeys. You can hold down the button while in your favorites menu and poof, hotkeyed item.

And I honestly thought there was a favorites menu for each hand before I started playing. I thought you'd press the left button to arm your left hand and the right button to arm your right.

Holy shit. I did not know you could hotkey to D-Pad left and right. That is awesome. As I play on PC (obvious from this thread) the manual had no mention of 360 controls, and the game never teaches you that. Thanks a million!

On the second thing, that's what I was hoping for. I now want D-Pad Up to be my weapons favourite menu, and Down to be my magic favourites menu. Someone make it happen!

I just used my first controller mod like 3 days ago and I had almost 60 hours. It took maybe an hour of fully messing with it and breaking it in but after that, it was all natural. I can't recommend it enough. It's the one on top of all the others in the UI/controller mod section (360 controller remap). I swear I thought this type of mod would not be necessary but it's been highly convenient and as I said, this was almost 60 hours in at the time. I was more than settled into the default pad controls by then and the transition couldn't have been easier.

I've still been trying to reset my uGrids settings, and have been researching why my console isn't functioning correctly.

I eventually came across this in the Skyrim Wiki page on console commands:

NOTE: It is a known bug that some players cannot enter quotes. The reason, however, is not known, and a fix is thus unlikely.

So, is there a manual, non-console related method with which I can reset uGrids to 5?

You need to try it yourself, for example outside is not that big, but inside i have fps in digits on GTX 560.

Also, "Re-Defined Dungeons WIP" interests me, but are there downsides to using a WIP mod? Are they more prone to crashes or other problems?

I think there's an FXAA compatible version.

No downside. Just that it isn't fully complete so some stuff will be the old vanilla stuff.

Have a performance issue. Game runs smooth on High Settings for hours until I do something like lockpick. Game locks up for a second, then I get a shitty frame rate. Restarting the whole game does nothing. I have to reboot my PC to get performance back.

Not a fan of the mod. Makes the women much more unrealistic.

The better nights mod has risen to my number one mod. Walking around a forest at night, with better thunder and the epic soundtrack mod is amazing.

Better Females by Bella

I really liked Bella's races for Oblivion (excellent texture work on the faces which is replicated with this new mod) but for me, her(?) textures just don't fit in with the dirty look that Skyrim goes for. No doubt there is a large audience that couldn't give a toss considering all the dirt removal from bodies mods which is fine and all, but it just ain't for me.

I do look forward to seeing what Bella does when the construction set is out though, but that's true for all the mod makers really.

It depends of Skyrim Its a bug, it shouldnt run like this and maybe it wont on Your PC.

I used my old Skyrim folder in Documents -> My Games which contains my saves and tweaked settings, no references to the 'old' game. Then I dropped in my old mods in the Data folder and my Injector FXAA settings, that's it. Window pops up for a second and then closes, did try to verify game files.

EDIT: Apparently it's the d3d9.dll from FXAA injector that stops it. Remove it, game starts right up, put it back when and it happens again. Did they kill off that too in a recent patch ?

After a night of tinkering and getting back on my feet after the reinstall ... I lost my saves. Had them backed up on my downloads drive and I copied them over to my Documents folder. Suddenly, they are gone from my Downloads drive, my Documents folder, nothing in the recycle bin and using a recover software gives me nothing - It's like the files never existed.

FXAA injector was doing the exact same thing to me as well. I posted in here but no one responded so I assumed it was something wrong with my install. Haven't spent any time trying to fix it though.

edit: throw in the 1.5x faster horses near the top. It's essential. Horses are useless otherwise

edit 2: shout out to the Epic Skyrim Soundtrack mod. Not a huge difference but I've heard one or two new pieces that sound awesome
