Anyone tried AMD 11.12 with Skyrim yet?
I used it for awhile earlier today. Noticed no real difference, but I am on a single 5870.
Anyone tried AMD 11.12 with Skyrim yet?
Anyone happen to know where I can download saves? I just got the game, and I've heard that in some cities, your computer can really chug. I just wanna see if mine will, and if so, I'll probably upgrade my rig. I wanna play the game on good settings right from the start.
Hello friends. I'm pretty new with PC gaming, can anyone give me an idea on how Skyrim would run on the following laptop i'm considering buying:
HP Pavilion dv6-6b12ej
Intel Core i7-2670QM
8GB DDR3
1000GB
Full High-Definition 15.6"
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 2GB DDR5
The price is pretty steep so i'm hoping for it to run fast and with good quality (meaning prettier than Xbox 360).
Is the GeForce 555M better?
I've seen movies on youtube that show the game running rather nicely...
I use 555m, and depending on the temperatures, you may even overclock it a bit.
I consistently get 45 - 60fps mostly everywhere, dipping to prolly the 40's when entering whiterun though.
I play with everything on high/max, cept shadows and AA.

I hated how it disabled online play. Made it unusable for me. I didn't want to cripple the game. Although it looks out of this world.I think the res is bad but ICE was easy to implement in GTA4. That's why I'm interested.
This game is really fucking unstable. I'm trying to climb some stairs up to the top of a mountain and the game crashes every 2 minutes.
It's a shame because I really wanted to enjoy this game. I'll come back to it in a few patches time.

Just because it isn't happening to you doesn't mean its not an issue.never had that issue. dont blame the game

vaelic said:it seems most of you with issues since patch are because of all the modding you did. I did zero modding and the patch is beautiful
vaelic said:smug? sorry but when things like lighting etc break and everyone is modding with unofficial mods, well......

I've sunk over 50 hours in Skyrim and haven't had a single crash. It's really odd how some folks are affected with this issue.
How does it work if there's more than 1 version of a mod?I'm actually really starting to like the nexus mod manager. At first it was almost as awful as the nexus websites, but now it's gotten stable and because of how new everything is it's pretty nice to have it tell you when an update is available for a mod.
Still has a few problems though like the "file does not exist" error.

I meant if a mod author provides separate downloads. can NMM detect the version you have and only update that?Installed? I don't know, I always uninstall and delete the old version before installing the new one. I imagine it'd be like installing two texture packs that work on the same textures and it will tell you the more recent version is going to overwrite the older version.
Or do you mean when mods are configurable? A few of them are built with NMM in mind like Gophers iHUD, so a menu pops up where you can choose how you want your compass. Most are not, and you'll have to go through and delete the version you don't want out of the mod then add the mod from file, which would probably mean you won't get update notifications anymore. Edit: unless of course the mod author provides them as separate downloads.

Wow!
The other day I was imagining something like Multi Theft Auto for Skyrim :]
Been messing around with some settings for the Himmelsrand shaders (top is vanilla):
Nighttime is brighter but there's only so much you can do until they release the CK and we can change the actual lighting values.

I guess there is a misunderstanding about my Skyrim screenshots :
It was some out of boredom, random ones, just for fun. I never meant to release them. They are not fitting my tastes at all "yet" as I don't really play this game (boring & bugged game -yawns) as the game has an horrible weather system, mixing day & night as the same time. I'll see.
And why the f**k am I on Kotaku & Reddit for that stuff?
So, after installing the AMD 11.12 driver, my textures look like DOGSHIT. I don't have time to post, but it looks as bad as the 360 did pre-patch when all the textures looked like they were from a launch PS1 game.
What in the hell.
Oh, and no mods whatsoever. Just that sweet, sweet AMD driver.
Damn, that may be the first time I haven't hated the changes someone has made. Not bad!Been messing around with some settings for the Himmelsrand shaders (top is vanilla):
Sounds good! What is your processor/RAM?
I can get an MSI notebook with 555M, i5 and 4GB RAM really cheaply. I know it's really mediocre but as long as it runs Skyrim on par or better than an Xbox 360 i'll be satisfied.
