The vampires keep killing my NPCs!
Every time I enter a house, there seems to be objects colliding somewhere and making sounds. It's really annoying. Anyone knows what's causing it and how it can be fixed ?
Thanks
They make it very clear you must have the unofficial patch follow immediately after the main game files in the load order, otherwise you'll run into a ton of issues, make sure you set that up properly, I haven't had any issues myself so far.
load order should be like thisIt's already at the very top.
I think I'll have to play it without mods for a while to see if the problem goes away. It's fine to add and remove the unofficial patch at any time, right?

Are you running at over 60fps? That'll do it, random objects just blast off because physics break.

I read this earlier in the thread. It's the only type of crashing I've heard of so maybe check to see if this solution works for you.

I thought this update would only be popular for the console base. But it seems a lot of PC gamers got in on it.
Edit. Anyways this is my third time buying into this world. First 360, then PC, and now X1.

Try doing what i posted above. Forces the game to run at max refresh rate.
AMD does not have that option unfortunately
Anyone else has any idea how to start the game with the screen @ 144hz refresh?
Changing SkyrimPrefs.ini grass settings to:
[Grass]
fGrassStartFadeDistance=10000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=10000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=400.0000
Increases grass draw distance a good deal over the default 7000.0000 with no impact on performance on a GTX 960 4GB. Anyone know if that is the max? Can't seem to extend it further than 10000.0000
Anyone else go any other .ini tweaks for visual improvements with little to no performance increases?
Are you sure it's working properly with 10000 as well?
What's the correct way to properly set fov now?
I can do the fov 85 command in the console, but the model fov seems to reset every time I enter the map. The actual field of view is correct when I resume gameplay, it's just the hands/fps model that resets.

Good lord- the Noble textures absolutely torpedoes performance on my 1070 but it looks so damn good.
on a 980, it keeps crashing for me, and won't even run in full screen. :|
Still runs fine on my 1070. I'm even downsampling from 1620p.
Are you on the newest drivers? My brother had also some crashes on his 980 before updating.
I'm downsampling from 4K.
That might be part of the reason why you see a drop in performance .

Sure, I just didn't expect it that much since it was running at 60fps in 4k without Noble. Too bad 1620p doesn't scale down to 1080p that smoothly.
1620p to 1080p said:
2880x1620 is exactly 1080p+50%. It scales down perfectly.
I'm finding that the game can really lurch, when approaching the first town in particular. On a 1070 wouldn't expect too many issues, perhaps it is my i5 3750k showing signs of trouble.
Damn that's some sexy IQ, downsampling plus TAA doing some work. I can't believe I didn't like TAA before this, but it just makes everything so smooth.
The game isn't running well for me, it's locked at 1080p 60fps on Ultra but super randomly the game will chug down to 40fps then what seems like 15-20fps for a couple seconds and then shoot back to 60fps.

I'm also really beginning to like TAA, but to be fair I'm also using lumasharpen here (slightly).
I've never had much of a chance to try it in games, but I'm even liking TAA at 900p. It's having the shimmering gone now.
Unrelated, my game seems to crash every like 10-15 min or so. Not sure if it had anything to do with any mods I have for sure. All I know is that I'm probably at the VRAM limit of my GPU.
Any way to fix the muddy ground textures in the middle of my screenshot? Always that distance away as well, either side renders fine...
Any ini tweaks to fix this?
