Got over myself for wanting this engine to run flawlessly on my stock FX6300 and well, it's not so bad, lowest it goes is 45 FPS on High preset with godrays turned to low. Noticing some lod issues though, certain elements aren't loaded properly so you get some lowres low poly geometry at places, also noticing a lot of zfighting on buildings in the distance.
Biggest bummer about performance is that this is pretty much how vanilla ran at its best, was expecting *something* more, especially considering this new release is actually utilizing all 6 cores. Looking it up in MSI Afterburner, it seems my 280X is bottlenecking my CPU in general overworld exploration parts. Is a 280X not enough for TAA? Vram usage is at 2.2 out of 3gB so it's not that, at least.
Edit: Had to turn Precipitation Occlusion off, dropped GPU usage down to 90% and my fps up to 59 again. I don't even know what that setting does, can't see any difference?
Edit #2: Only temporarily it would seem, usage rose to 99% again and FPS dropped to 50 after a minute. Wtf? This must be a driver issue or something? Would explain the weird performance issues people have been having, the CPU bottleneck seems to be entirely gone at least, only get low FPS when my GPU is doing too much shit at once, which must be a bug, because it happens with or without TAA and Godrays.
