So why are countries like UK, Germany, France and Spain in the finale by default? If i remember correctly, they all got embarrassingly low points last year.

They pay the bills. Or at least big parts of it.

Hmm, looks like Germany is trying again this year, they haven't sent anytihng serious for a while if I remember correctly...
The German entry "No no never" by Texas Lightning, from a couple of years back, was a nice catchy ditty i thought.

This year I'm getting behind Bosnia and Herzegovina, its a nicely weird song and hope it somehow does well.

You do realize that Greece and FYR Macedonia are completely different countries?
In fact, Slavomacedonians have nothing to do with Ancient Macedons, a greek people, who spoke the greek language, believed to the greek gods and by whom the whole historic period following the conquers of Alexander the Great was named "Hellenistic", meaning "trying to be greek". BTW, Philip is also a greek word and means "friend with horses", while Alexander means "man with valour".

" Until 1944, the FYROM region, then part of Serbia, was known as Vardar Banovina. It was at this time that Marshall Tito invented the Socialist Republic of Macedonia, and from this area that he supported the communists in the Greek civil war, which cost over 100,000 Greek lives, in his quest of an outlet to the Aegean via the northern Greek province of Macedonia."

The only reason Slavomacedonias insist on calling themselves "ancestors" of ancient Macedonia and invented a language called "Macedonian language" (=a dialect of the Bulgarian language) is because as a country they have no historical backround, no common past, no cohesion and thus their state would crumble if they didn't make a fake past up. Unfortunately, they have the US of A on their side, because the Americans use them as a puppet for their own interesters in the Balkans.

Everyone's raving about the French song (internet, my friends, ...) but I find it a bit boring. But yes, even I would probably take that song as the winner, since all the rest is utter crap. (I must admitt I haven't heard every candidate yet, but I think it won't change anything).

Yeah, France better win this. Finnaly got my TV hooked up to a decent antenna just to see the finals.

Hey it's Sebastien Tellier. At least we'll have good music.

I agree, the French song is boring and as dull as dishwater. IMO It sounds a bit like one of those pre-programmed demo tunes you get with a cheap Casio organ. And instantly forgettable. Though France is due a win so who know, and Paris would be a great venue for next year.

My two faves would be Bosnia & Herzegovina and maybe Ukraine (personal faves, neither have a hope of winning ofcourse), but it looks like it could be a fight between Sweden and the Russians.

Starting order for the Final:

1. Romania: Nico & Vlad - Pe-o Margine De Lume
2. UK: Andy Abraham – Even If
3. Albania: Olta Boka - Zemrën e lamë peng
4. Germany: No Angels – Disappear
5. Armenia: Sirusho - Qele, Qele
6. Bosna & Herzegovina: Laka – Pokušaj
7. Israel: Boaz - The Fire In Your Eyes
8. Finland: Teräsbetoni - Missä Miehet Ratsastaa
9. Croatia: Kraljevi ulice & 75 Cents - Romanca
10. Poland: Isis Gee - For Life
11. Iceland: Euroband - This is my Life
12. Turkey: Mor ve Ötesi – Deli
13. Portugal: Vânia Fernandes - Senhora do mar
14. Latvia: Pirates Of The Sea - Wolves of the Sea
15. Sweden: Charlotte Perrelli – Hero
16. Denmark: Simon Mathew - All Night Long
17. Georgia: Diana Gurtskaya - Peace Will Come
18. Ukraine: Ani Lorak - Shady Lady
19. France: Sébastien Tellier – Divine
20. Azerbaijan: Elnur & Samir - Day After Day
21. Greece: Kalomira - Secret Combination
22. Spain: Rodolfo Chikilicuatre - Baila El Chiki Chiki
23. Serbia: Jelena Tomašević feat. Bora Dugic – Oro
24. Russia: Dima Bilan – Believe
25. Norway: Maria - Hold On Be Strong

Wow, all favourites (- Finalnd) are packed one after another :lol

Alright I am in bed sick with my laptop ready to watch this shitfest.

I have not heard most of the songs before.

Should be fun. :lol

According to betting sites most likely to come last is either Germany or Britain.

Ukraine and Russia most likely to win, followed by Greece and then Serbia, Sweden, Finland and Armenia.

I haven't managed to catch any of the semi's so I don't know which act has the most attractive female singers in. Any suggestions gaf?

Terry Wogan is doing the BBC coverage right? He better be. I love his commentary.

I'm looking forward to another UK nil pois, and a Terry Wogan that gets progressively drunker as the night goes on.

Ukraine and Greece
And Sweden, if you like artificial human beings

I really hate both Ukraine's and Russia's songs, it'd be awful if either of them won.
I'm hoping for France but it's probably too good of a song to have a chance :/

The Czech Republic had some pretty hot chicks. The song was absolute rubbish though and the singer was probably the worst of this year's competition (which is saying quite a bit) so it didn't qualify to the final.

Did she have some plastic surgery or something? Looks like a Barbie, and I don't mean that in a good way. Sweden has sweet blue lasers, though.

Greece always has the hottest females signing for them.

I remember being younger and watching an older Eurovision and it was Greece up. The lead singer was a hot, and to top it all off her boob popped out. One of the highlights of my childhood.

Or botox overdose. Her eyes are just scary....

Ok, time to move to my TV on other side of the house.... NeoGAF, enjoy :D

Watching a pre-show here and the Sugababes are on. Where the hell is the hot asian chick? Now it's not even enjoyable without sound :(

LETS GET THE FUCKIN PARTY STARTED MOFOKKAAAAAS.

Yes, it's the ultimate of the ultimate nights, the Eurosong final.
