Is there anything else I should try? The timing on HK against jaguar kick. :(

Have you tried down forward LK? You can combo into Kikusho if you time it right. :)
Isn't Mk the easiest to time right? Should probably stick with that. Though there should be a better punish for jaguar kicks, neutral jump maybe?!

MK *is* the easiest but still. I need to consider all options in case I ever encounter him again so I can bop him.

I was thinking about getting a stick. this one Hori Fighting Stick mini

I feel like I can't get the inputs fast enough on the pad. (also if you guys have any other sticks to recommend feel free)
Note that when that thing says "mini," they mean it. It's very small, and it's probably not going to be comfortable for most players. It costs twice as much, but if you want a decent "starter" stick, you should look at the MadCatz Fightstick Alpha or the Hori HRAP4.

So for the logest time ive been trying to find a comfortable way to hold a stick but i dunno why but theres something about my stick that feels not comfortable to me. Yesterday i went to a marshalls and they had a pac man arcade cabinet and i held its stick hourglass style and felt really comfortable. I dunno if i should get a bigger stick of a firmer joystick

Have you tried the Daigo grip? Tried it for the first time on Friday. Comfortable as all fuck. Thanks Daigo!

back + Mp for starters. The best AA in the game.
Spiral on block is not safe when done close to you.
You jump a lot which shows your impatient, which the rose player never anti aired either.
Work on your pressure/frame traps. I saw no forward + mp the god command normal or crouch fierces.
Use feint rocks to bait a jump.

Cody loses the mobility game by a mile so you have play a bit more patient.

The two throws at the end was gimmick sfiv bullshit though.

I play Rose and do those throw gimmicks lmao.
My AA game is not so good and I got very impatient cuz I was at max range almost all the time. Also I was like "Elena doesn't have to deal with this shit, should have picked her :(" "Focus backdash/Slide that shit/Healing/Lame it out"

My internet is good today so I can upload other matches, but I don't like the sound in my videos too much bass.

I don't know what to do against Sol. One Gunflame and I can't do anything but block. Feels like I get anti-aired if I try to go over it, but if I let him get close then I'm just going to be stuck blocking and then there comes another Gunflame. What is there to do other than reacting and jumping as soon as he uses it?

Create distance and set up a ball, charge stinger aim.

If you are too close to do any of that then you can try to stuff the start up or punish recovery.

Gunflame is only good if you manage to give Sol a counter hit, which gives a free combo. Otherwise it disappears at further than like half screen range and any closer its too slow and punishable without YRC.

tbh for the games i seen you play, which is only gg, a pad is totally fine and maybe even a bit easier than stick (?). i seen tons of anime players who use pad and stuff like IAD is really easy to pull off on it.

that said if you already feel more comfortable on stick go for it.

When I did get punished severely for it, I'd say those were bad reads on my behalf. Ended up being too gungho trying to anticipate him moving in closer via either a jump or his command run and with how I'd usually end up in the corner afterwards anyways, I'm sceptical it's actually worth the trade-off even as someone like Dhalsim. I guess it might be a situational gamble when mix-ups are an issue?

Usually not worth the trade-off. It's easier and safer to slide under a jump in.

To start, it looks like matches 2 and 5 as well as 3 and 6 are the same matches.

A few points that were also addressed last time:
- It looks like you're still opting for j.P chains a whole bunch in your jump ins. At times it made some sense to attempt (eg when Faust was on pogo but I'd still rather suggest other jump normals here) but at other times it's not a good choice. j.P will not hit against a crouching Faust. It's also a rather easy anti air situation for Faust when you jump in like that when he's grounded. You should really try to explore your other air normals some more. j.HS takes up a good amount of space, j.K is a good air to air, j.S is a good jump in normal and decent air to air as well.

- Let's talk about choice of normals (and subsequently gatling choices) for a bit. I noticed that you used 6P a whole lot especially when dashing towards the opponent. The issue I see here isn't necessarily just due to its abundance but rather some of the situations where you go for it aren't really where the move shines and when you do hit it the follow up gatling (if there is one at all) isn't very effective.

An example of the former is here, where you get a 2D knockdown but opt for a 6P on their wake up. 6P has a decent amount of active frames but isn't a move you should go for as a meaty. Ky has better options for that in the forms of: 5K (8f active and hits low), charged stun edge and 6HS.

An example of latter is here, you get a 6P hit but cancel immediately into a stun edge. This happens a few times throughout the matches. In other instances I see 6P on hit into 6K (on block a chain into 6K isn't terrible though if they choose to keep blocking as 6K is plus on block). One of the common involving 6P is 6P -> c.S which I see you very rarely employ (I don't see much c.S usage in general). It's a pretty decent gatling on hit or block as it combos on hit and on block you can chain into 6K, 2S, 6P etc.

Again the point I think is to learn and experiment with more of your tool set and how they work together.

- Movement still needs to be more active as suggested last time. Try practicing FD break dashes. They'll really help to boost up the rest of your game.

New things that arose in these videos:
- Why did you not opt for any S stun edges during neutral situations or play much of a projectile game? Putting grinders on to the screen with split ciel and chucking enhanced stun edges can be annoying for the opponent. Stun edge yrc and charged stun edge yrc can really help to kick start situations into your favour.

- As pointed out by others, that's a lot of greed sever you're using there. I'd be more reserved about using it given how punishable it is. If it's spaced well it's not as easy to punish but for the most part if you have meter and you see that it is blocked RC it or else you'll be hurting. When you do hit it though the normal you should usually convert the hit with is c.S -> 2HS -> VT or otherwise choice of combo (and sometimes maybe you'll won't be able to combo well due to how the greed sever hit).

- Start learning your basic grounded knockdown combos and post knockdown oki. Start with simple strings such as 5k -> c.S -> 5HS -> 2D or really anything that ends in 2D. Once you can consistently get those kinds of knockdown situations you can employ 5k, 6HS and charged stun edge to pressure the opponent on their wake up.

I posted these way back, figured I'd post again. I'd appreciate either feedback or a sub to my channel (or both). I'm also up for supporting some GAF'ers, just post your channel and I'll sub. :)

Match 1 (skip to 2:39, I actually beat a high level player. First match is painful to watch.)
Match 2(I think I have a decent Gouken?)

Well I made it to 899 PP tonight then choked so hard on a 1300 point gouken that I wasn't able to recover and all my points slowly started to go away match after match lol.

So am i wrong in thinking that Online is dumb? Like im constantly losing due to bullshit that for some reason i cant react to and i cant block cause the input comes out too late anf i feel cheated? Like im constantly losing to people who will mash a dp right after anitger and i get counter hit cause i was in the middle of punishing

Nage made a nice write up a while back about simplified game plan mindset, it's an excellent read for any new anime player, I was still learning I-No back then and it helped me a lot so I can only imagine it would be even more valuable for Faust players since he's specifically discussing Faust:

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snsh69

I just read that and maybe I do need to simplified game plan mindset. I tend to get very flustered when I do fighting games. So maybe this will help + all the advice given so far. I also tend to go for combos a lot online, but I should really use normal and get use to the range and move set.

So.

I've become competent offensive wise. I can do the U1 combo I saw Infiltration pull off in a match that I liked now and even spin it so that it's free form. My execution for the most part is really solid now and I can do the right combos I need to maximize damage at the right time. Just need to work on hitting the harder ones more regularly. 10 minutes a day minimum doing execution drills is what the doctor ordered.

But right now I'm examining my entire game plan and seeing that it's time to start concentrating on defense: minimizing risk, crouch teching, throw teching, blocking mix ups, anti-air. Last night sparring with Blackule was a great success - he's a great sparring partner. So I'm going to be training with the dummy for all of this too! Last night I got a lot of practice against people jumping in on me. One Zangief couldn't get in because I covered all routes! Chun Li the tank! I'll upload a video!

Still doing trials and still watching pro matches. Trying to see how I can make my Chun as aggressive as Infiltration's!

You should definitely watch Valmaster too. He's definitely my favourite Chun player and he does things with her I didn't even know were possible.

Valmaster is cool. I watch him but for some reason Infiltration is my fave.

I can't find this Matsuri fight where she beats Daigo. It's such a great video and I've been studying it because she charges SO WELL. And I need to repeat every step she does in that video.

And now I can't find it. 😓

FOUND IT!

http://youtu.be/jodFPvHYRMI

No wonder I couldn't find it. It's Maribo!

Her charge buffering is on point!

Blackule, what's the advantage of FADC back dashing that Maribo does? Spacing? Baiting? Seems it could have multiple uses given Chun's AA backdash.

Probably to try tag Daigo with a lvl 2 FA that'll crumple if he does a cr.MK ~ fireball. I believe Chun's lvl 1 FA - forward dash is safe on block so she uses that too to try go through normals and punish them with a cr.LK or throw.

-Try not to jump as much. There are a few times you could've punished on block (2:30 for example).
-A lot of the game you were jump but Cody doesn't really have any good jump attacks outside of crossup j.MK and j.HK (Unless you wanna be fancy and do the ambiguous j.HP cross up)
-Keep in mind that Cody has projectiles (rocks) that Rose cannot deflect back. Basically you can play a projectile game against her and not worry about it being sent back to you and thus, limit one of her tools.
-EX Slide goes through fireballs

So help me out here, what's up with that Guile vs Kenneth matchup, me playing Ken obviously.

Guile is all about keeping you away with his boom, normals, and flash kick.

Ken is all about getting into peoples face and wrecking their shit with a fire fist.

Guile is going to bait you into getting bored of playing keep away. That's when you fuck up and try to get him, and then he wrecks you.

Have patience.

Also lol @ "Kenneth". I added you to ps4 Mike. :(

I added and I was looking for something more specific match-up wise. And I also have USF4 on wack ass PS3 so Q_Q until SFV.
