The Final Bosman Show

Am I the only one who wants a Kaz Hirai appearance at the PS4 event tomorrow? That has to happen. Without him there it would be like a ElTorro GIF without Banderas.

And yes... I loved that tablet segment. It's just disheartening hearing my younger cousins (currently 8-12 years of age) say they don't like console gaming and love iPad gaming.

I adored Kyle's earlier shows but have slowly grown less passionate about The Final Bosman which has caused an embarrassingly large amount of self-reflection since I really like Kyle and subconsciously try to like his work as much as possible. Which I guess is complimentary in a roundabout way. After having re-watched some of the earlier Final Bosman's I believe that I identified why I loved those shows as much as I did. Kyle expresses disappointment in a more truthful, honest and naive manner than any other individual I can think of. His early shows were slightly less goofy and had more moments when he would express disappointment in a way that consistently pulled on my gaming-heartstrings. The goofy nature of the current "Final Bosman" I feel is a lot more up-and-down than it was initially, which I guess should come as no surprise due to the law of diminishing return.

/endrant. Still love Kyle.

This episode got me (more) psyched for the next generation of video games. I hope both the PS4 and the Xbox One do really well, if only to avoid the dystopian future depicted in the second segment.

that got surprisingly dark for a second there

Yeah, that really got me too.
So many times I've stopped myself from buying something because I know that I want something just to have it, not because I really have a need/want for it.

Anti-consumerist commentary without the pedantic grandstanding its typically associated with.

This is how its done people.

Wonder how Wario felt about this episode. I mean they're coworkers after all!

I always wonder if most reviewers and sort of videogame figures have accounts here on gaf, but never say anything about who they are.....I honestly cannot believe Kyle does/didnt have an account on here before he got his job at GT

It's so sad to me that I find his optimism to this whole thing refreshing when compared to other gaming media.

This is our hobby and so many of us have nostalgia from when we were kids getting pumped at new hardware. It's cool to be psyched for all of these things and not jaded to everything. This is one of the best times to let that through without seeming like a complete fanboy.

I'm totally in agreement with Kyle, here. Let's bathe in this hype for a least a little while longer before it just becomes the status quo.

Pretty much this. He's a relief from all the cynicism and the generally poor coverage of this medium. He taps into how you felt growing up and playing games. And he does this while also covering topics that need a serious discussion. Always look forward to his show.

Also I get a sense that he's getting a bigger role over at GT. They are going to have him be apart of the PS4 live stream Friday and during the announcement for it they kept bringing his name up.

Couldn't stop laughing until the 2nd point of the tablet section. I know the seriousness was for comedic effect, but he actually does nail it on the head why a lot of people need to have the iPad Air. It was really amazing.

Did not expect that from a PS4 hype video of all things.

Hilarious episode

Edit: anybody know what background music was playing during that dark segment at the end? I really liked it

So how long has yosp's twitter avatar been the BOTB depiction of him? I just noticed it. Also his profile says "Practicing for BOTB." Ha.

I love how he calls out "negative 12 hour live streams" (in reference to the Polygon PS4 debacle), and twitter "cry baby sessions that didn't amount to anything" (Sessler's fit) as leading to the growing irrelevance of games media.

Kyle is the people's champ!

I wasn't really paying attention to the sessler thing, care to explain what happened?
