The Final Bosman Show

Goddamn, this episode. I bought Gitiroo Man purely because it was £3, but I loved that game. I know what he means about that guitar with the girl level, it's so fantastic.

That section until the end the game never stops being awesome. What a great game. I still have my copy in the hopes of BC on some Sony system in the future.

Yeah this Gametrailers staff stuff is basically my new 1up Show, which shocks me. Could never get into Giant Bomb for whatever reason, even when I was desperate for stuff to listen to. 8-4 is awesome but has no video content so is more like my 1up Yours.

I've only seen 4 of these prediction specials (E3 closeout, GamesCom both, and now this) and I already feel like I have a great grasp on the office, just the way the hosts profile them all and interact with them. Kyle and Huber are definitely an awesome duo. This could be the boring-est bit ever with the exact same script if they didn't bring the enthusiasm that they do.
I agree that I really like the "staff stuff" that you mentioned... My problem is actually the site itself! It feels so hard to find those kinds of videos among the flood of official trailers and crap. Anyone know of a way to just view the latest original content featuring the staff/personalities? Clicking through to each individual show's page ain't gonna cut it, plus doing that wouldn't surface stuff like the betting specials, right?

This is the best I can think of

Shows all GT original shows

I really, really loved this episode. Gitaroo Man is an incredible game. I played the PSP version some years back and completely fell in love with it. Everything Kyle says is spot on. The gameplay and story serve each other so well in what is, on the face, a fairly simple rhythm game. Hearing that acoustic song again brought back all those feelings I felt the first time I played it.

God dammit, I gotta go play Gitaroo Man.

Maybe a general GT thread would be a good idea, they have quite a few good original shows now.

On a related note I think this week's mandatory update could contain final bosman lore crossover, so a general thread might help people keep up if they only watch 1 show and dont know if something happens on another show.

Did buttons first appear on final bosman or just GT in general? I cant really remember. Also kyle gets shot, dunno if that will be referenced.

sn00zer is already onto creating the OT.

Oh I was just asking...if someone wants to do it now Ill gladly give it up...I was just looking for general interest to work on later...if someone wants to jump on it now im all for it
EDIT: IT sort of dawned on me that I primarily watch Bosman and GT Time and dont know enough about the lets plays and other shows

To be honest, The Final Bosman and the Pach Attack was the only shows I watched in the beginning, but now Let's Go to the Trailers and GT Time are must watchs for me as well. I will probably like it as well, so I also really need to check out their other stuff. Quality site, all things considered.

Mandatory Update might not be everyone's kinda humor, but Ian and Elyse are really likable and amusing people. Plus you get a decent amount of guest spots from Huber, Moore, and even The Holy Bosman from time to time.

I also recommend their Editorials which are sorta like mini episodes of GT Time about a single subject.

I think there should be a legacy section to the Op as well, to all the content the GT has produced in the past like Invisble Walls, Pach Attack, Epic Battlecry, etc.

If anything you also need to check out Let's All Go To The Trailers - Bosman, Jones and Bloodworth talking about trailers. Very entertaining, although it worked even better when Ryan Stevens was still there.

I do love Mandatory Update. I don't laugh out loud at it often, but last week's British section slayed me. Elyises Michael Caine always gets me.

I like Mandatory Update, i find it funny because, although the jokes are hit and miss (and i rarely laugh out loud with it) they are very self aware and candid about it, as you can gather from the outtakes at the end of the videos (best part).

yeah gt is slowly reeling me in too, started with bonus round but then Pach attack, Bosman and lets all go to the trailers

I've been going through the Mandatory Update archives over the weekend. Really great, super weird and occasionally very smart humor. It's 100% hit or miss and kinda corny, but in a really fun public access self-aware way.

The thing I enjoy most about it is they're basically just having fun. Like they all got together and decided they wanted a show where they could do whatever they wanted. Whether the jokes hit or miss doesn't really matter to me because it's so entertaining just watching them.

"Hello everyone, this is the Final Bosman and on today's episode I'm gonna be like that old guy at the end of Ratatouille who tastes that pasta and he's like 'this tastes like childhood'..."

...pasta...

...PASTA

Hey Kyle, spoilers:
it's not pasta, it's.............Ratatouille......crazy, I know!

Agreed, Kyle seems to hit on every big point concerning reviews.

However, I disagree with his last point that reviewers of films don't tell people to wait for the film to hit DVD. I mean, for example, Jeremy Jahns even uses "Wait for it on Blu Ray" as a level on his review spectrum.

I quite liked Kyle's take on reviews although I can't help but feel like he unintentionally sidestepped one of the larger issues of modern reviews where anything below say a 7 is considered utterly terrible by a lot of people and anything below an 8 is bad or at least not good.

Kyle mentions how he likes rottentomatoes because it uses the full spectrum which implies the metacritic method doesn't [which I agree with] but I felt he could have gone more in depth into that element of it

Otherwise it's a pretty good episode
