Damn, Kyle has actually sold me on the Wii U.
He's the gaming world's version of Jon Stewart. We need him.
That Super Mario 3D World segment was an ice cold takedown of Jason Rubin's comments.
Paraphrasing: "Why would I spend $300 dollars to play one excellent game when I could spend $400 or $500 to play a bunch of regular games? It's economics!"
It makes a damn fine point and that is excluding the fact that the Wii U has other solid games and for the budget conscious or Nintendo first gamer would be a good purchase.

He's slowly becoming that to me too. This show is brilliant! Brightens up my Wednesday afternoons.Kyle Bosman is GameTrailers.
To me.

It felt to me that everything it was trying to do with Lara's character was crushed by what Naughty Dog accomplished with Ellie. When you compare the deer stalking sequences in each game, for example, Tomb Raider's comes across as completely laughable. But Kyle's also right that the biggest problem is Croft was designed in the 90s and has always been a terrible Mary Sue. Nothing about her character makes sense. She's super-rich, and super athletic, and super hot and super intelligent, and she's an archaeologist/spy/socialite. When you compare her to Indiana Jones, well, he's a down on his luck college professor who gets the shit kicked out of him a lot. He's conflicted, but affable so we root for him in these impossible situations, while Lara just runs around killing species once thought extinct for fun. The reboot tries to modernize her, but there's just no there there to focus on.

I disagree, Bossman seems genuine and has a very likable innocence that comes through very well. It's a strange mix of dryness and sincerity. Stewart just uses a sarcastic snark schtick over and over.
I don't think there are very many non-gaming versions of Bossman. That's a major compliment.

Ugh the baseballs and the footage from 3DWorld might get me to finally hitting the amazon button to buy.
I'm trying to delay it for a long as possible.
Bosman needs to do an entire show about the unfounded cynicism in the industry and how it will eventually kill off the very thing we love.
Did I just finish reading through the VGX/Joel McHale thread? Maybe... I'm just not sure why so many people desire to muddle about in a pit of despair when it comes to entertainment. I guess I would be willing to take unhealthy amounts of pure PR over obnoxious cynicism any day of the week.
I haven't read that thread, but the VGX sucked precisely because of McHale's attitude. He was snarky the whole time, like he was being hold there against his will. (And don't blame his attitude on the shitty writing - the guy was on season 4 of Community).
Oh boy, hope Geoff knows what he's getting into. The show better be put together decently, otherwise Joel WILL go off teleprompter and start roasting the show. Loved that Ubisoft press conference.
I've been thinking the whole time about how Kyle Bosman would do as a co-host to Geoff or even the sole host of the VGA's. Dude could make some hilarious mini segments to break up between the awards and trailers, but I don't know how well he'd do in front of the camera live since he seemed really nervous during his E3 bit. Still did really well though.
Idk Bosman, would you take the job?![]()
Trying to delay the Mario purchase or the Wii U itself?
I honestly can't wait to hear what Bosman has to say about the VGX awards, though I'm not sure how much he'll have to hold his tongue since he's employed by GameTrailers.

I was surprised at his comments on twitter about the VGX - he was being honest, and his displeasure was apparent.I'm pretty sure that GT management doesn't want Bosman spending a lot of time slagging off the event they've spent the last month promoting. The VGX production might have been handled by different staff but there's still kind of a vested interest there.
That's not to say that there won't be some "safe" complaints about certain things (GTA5 GOTY).....I just don't expect him to rip into the actual quality of the production or hosting. We shall see though.
Any takers on .giffing Kyle's "emote of the VGX"? 'Cause that is some classic acting right there.
Bosman should replace Keighley.
