Future Flash hit Barry with the ol

I'll say this: The scene with Barry's mother and RF's response to the helmet? Really great. Easily my favorite moments. As much as I like Eddie and respect what he did, there's too much 'timey-wimey wtf how does that I don't know' aspects to it that it's hard for me to completely connect to it.

I'm just wondering what Eobard expected Cicso to do when Eddie shot himself, as soon as Eobard realised what was happening he said "Cisco, help me" - we know Cisco has some powers, can his powers do something to help him?.

I'm not super familiar with Vibe's modern powerset, but his control over vibrations has some interesting implications in DCU physics; alternate realities there are governed by vibrations, after all. It's those powers that also let him remember being killed by Wells in the alternate timeline. It's possible that there really is something that he could do.

So Eddie killed himself, meaning reverse flash never existed, meaning Barry isn't the flash, meaning Eddie didn't need to kill himself, meaning RF does exist, meaning he killed barry's mom, meaning barry is the flash, meaning eddie had to kill himself? Confusing time loop

The instant that Barry decided that saving his mom was more important than risking the lives of billions of people on the planet was the instant the finale died for me. Garbage writing.

Yeah I believe it was season 3. Turned out some of the BB gas that was on Virgil rubbed of on him which is why it took him longer for it to take effect. All it did was make him super smart and allowed him to create gadgets for himself.

I see. That's what I get for missing a few of episodes.

This was the most interesting and unexpected alternate reality. Anti-Time Travel Dad was right!

But at the minimum everyone else in the present timeline would still be dead. Regardless wouldn't that still create the extinction level blackhole?

Killed a lot of people with your selfishness there Barry.

Not a good look.

Like a LOT of people.

But he didn't, he never changed the past - it was actually Eddie who killed a lot of people with his act of selflessness - the black hole was caused by him dying and erasing Eobard. That's at least how i see it, the wormhole was closed and all was good (well apart from Reverse Flash about to kill everyone), and the black hole formed due to Eddie killing himself and erasing Eobard.

So in a weird way, Eddie's act of selflessness to protect his friends, killed a lot of people in the city by causing a paradox that had/has the potential to destroy the solar system.

Somewhere, in some time, Jay Garrick is missing his hat.

Can't wait for the episode in Season 2 where Jay Garrick shows up only to take his hat back and leave.

wasn't really feeling that final cliffhanger scene but damn that episode was great. grant gustin outacted the entire CW channel with that scene with his mother :(

Eddie proved himself to be the stand-up dude he's been since mid-season.

Good night, sweet, confused prince. You'll pretty much listen to what anyone tells you.

Actually he managed to pull the time travel without destroying reality, it was likely Eddie's suicide to make the big hole

Eddie wouldn't have needed to die if they hadn't let RF out of the cage.

I just can't get over him making the decision to risk those billions of lives for his mom. I just can't. I love the show but this really doesn't work.

His decision to become a CSI, and what changed his life forever, was his mother's death
I'd do the same thing in his place

Barry didn't risk anything. He planned on not changing the timeline. Sure you can quibble over that he still created a blackhole to get the opportunity to make a proper goodbye but this is a universe where time travel is real. Someone already took or is taking that risk at some point. That risk can be managed.

So we're at a paradox.

Eddie kills himself
So none of Eobards actions ever happened.
So were back to the original timeline that we've never seen, only heard about.
This means Eobard ends up becoming an enemy of the flash
Eobard travels back in time to kill young Barry
He ends up getting stuck in the past, leading the the new timeline and events of the show
Which leads us to
Eddie kills himself.

The two timelines are trying to cancel eachother out.

I'm not seeing a way out of this that doesn't reek of BS.

Once that black hole came into being, there was always a risk and he still took it. It was a completely morally bankrupt decision on his part and very bad writing that no one else on the team fought him on it. Come on, this is the dude who refused to let any of the metahumans die. Talk about whiplash.
