essentially.... the paradox creates a new reality... so old parallel universe has eobard/eddie going as normal... and new reality no longer has eobard at all...

so eobard still exists because the two realities are now bridged, but he is no longer from the current reality.

now in the "future" when flash/eobard travel back in time... they're now traveling across dimensions AND time

There cannot be a reality (of what we've seen) without Eobard though, if Eddie kill himself it should erase everything Eobard done, not just the Eobard we saw right then.

Plus if Eobard was from another time and dimension then Eddie killing himself shouldn't have erased Eobard, since he was from a different dimension Eddie.

The feels were strong.

What the fuck at Caitlyn asking "What's a singularity?" Come on writers, that shit pulled me right out of the episode

Lol you're not the only one. A researcher at S.T.A.R. Labs not knowing about black holes? It's obvious they were trying to make it clear for viewers but damn if it didn't make Caitlin look stupid.

In the comic Jay Garrick basically came before the flash. So in this TV show. Barry is the first Flash in his universe? While in another universe, Jay is the first? (And possibly only?)

That's the current continuity for DC. Barry was the first Flash in the new 52 universe. A younger Jay Garrick is the first Flash his universe. Given powers by the dying Greek God Hermes.

I mean... they could? But ultimately, Flashpoint was about (trying to) undo the damage to the timeline. Which, if Barry had saved his mom, would have resulted in returning to the original timeline. You wouldn't have gotten Robert Queen, the Broken Arrow, for instance. So some tweaking would be required.

From the sound of it they're going whole hog on multiverse shenanigans next season, so maybe we'll get something similar. I dunno.
Right. And since Barry didn't save his mom. There was no damage to the timeline. So as of right now, there's no need to introduce Flashpoint. But with all the time travel shenanigans in the 2nd season. Maybe Flashpoint could be a possibility in the 3rd?

Ahhh okay thanks! So I'm guessing this TV show is taking a bit from the old comic and the new 52 thing.

Jay most likely going to be an older Flash BUT he's also going to be the only Flash in his universe. (Or maybe first)

Oh man that's going to be awesome.

Eddie wouldn't have needed to die if they hadn't let RF out of the cage.

I just can't get over him making the decision to risk those billions of lives for his mom. I just can't. I love the show but this really doesn't work.

as someone who lost his mom 4 years ago i can tell you without hesitation that i would do ANYTHING to spend one more moment with her.

Wow what an episode and now we wait for god knows how many months:( First Gotham with the Cliffhanger and now Flash. I got to wonder when Barry and Oliver meet Rip Hunter though.

They have got to have done the Pa Kent hand wave on purpose.

Since they're going all multiverse next season I wonder if we'll see one new episode of the old flash show. I've never seen the show but I think it would be cool if they did something like that anyway. Crazy things are coming next season for sure though.

Or he doesn't appear at all and the hat today was just an easter egg for fans of the comics.

Whatever happens, this was one of the best comic book adaptions I've seen yet in my opinion. Such an enjoyable season of TV.

That was incredible. Definitely made up for the few shaky episodes leading up to it.

I knew Eddie was gonna sacrifice himself. There's would of been almost no point in introducing their relationship that way otherwise.

The best part about the Arrowverse shows is that they just don't tease things, everything has a pay-off eventually.

I'd put money down on something related to the hat being shown next season.

I was holding really hard not to cry but I shed a tear. The acting was too good. This how you do a finale.

I'm just hoping next seasons will be just as good and not turn trash.

I can't believe they ended it like that! But goddamn, what an episode. Hell of a finale. I was legit surprised that Eddie killed himself, and a little disappointed too because I've really liked him this year, but given his body being dragged into the wormhole I'm sure he'll back in some way later. Though shouldn't erasing Welles-Thawne from existence undo everything he did to help Barry and basically make the entire show possible? Is that paradox what rips the black hole open again?

Anyway. That shit was good.

I imagine the first few episodes being like Barry on a tour of the multiverse before eventually finding his way back home.

aaaaand the scene with barry and his mom just happened on the west coast....aaand I might be sobbing like a little girl. Maybe. No confirmation.

I think all the important stuff from the wormhole scenes were:
Flash Museum
Killer Frost
Barry in prison
Legends of tomorrow stuff we've already seen

rewatching and damn, that moment when Barry says goodbye to joe but calls him dad....the feels..

This show and how it just hits the right emotions.

Now that's a season finale! That scene between Barty and his father was touching. The wait for Season 2 is gonna be a long one. This erased the bad taste of the Arrow finale, that's for sure.

I was kind of piss off by the cop out time travel and only Reverse Flash and Eddie was the only one affected.
However, when that wormhole reopened I was holy shit

I think FX wise that was the best for a superhero tv show

Absolutely batshit insane finale. Incredible acting and effects. They went balls-out for this finale and it looked film-quality.

Starting now. (Eyes shut opening this up lol.) Suddenly seeing infinite possibilities for season two but trying to brace myself for something deflatingly straightforward.

The real mind bender you have to ask yourself...

What if eddie shooting himself was part of eobards plan?

Let's trace back to when he was being held hostage. There was no tactical benefit to holding eddie. Eobard is the one who told eddie they were related. He's the one who manipulated all that self doubt.

How was eddie the contingency plan?

WHAT THE F!?!?!? THAT'S THE CLIFFHANGER?!?!

I need more... I need it... Now. CW plz. plzzzzzzzz

It seems like the visual effects people love what they do because they go all in on it.

I laughed when the helmet came thru the worm hole and Wells did a mini-spazz lol.

I know this is raining on the parade, but if Thawne never existed, then there's be no STAR Labs and no Flash, right? Or is this one of those "Fuck it! Speed Force!" things?
