Is there anyone left to bring back from the old show who had a role of any significance?

David Cassidy was Mirror Master

looking through the old cast list...In terms of bigger actor names...I recognize Angela Bassett (Linda Lake) and Adam West (Hippy Guy...LOL)

EDIT oh I see Bryan Cranston in there too...I don't know the character though (Philip Mark Moses)...a nobody I assume? I don't know the Flash universe characters all that well.

Woah. That is fantastic! Hype!

That costume has not aged well.

Not sure why I haven't posted in here before, since I have been watching and enjoying the show.

*shrug*

Anyway, I agree with the compliments the show has earned for being, for the most part, bright and breezy and fun. Barry isn't brooding over his powers at all, which is really nice to see. And they're also doing a fantastic job of channeling all of the dark-light ambiguity in the show into Dr. Wells' character

I know everyone is speculating that he's the villain, and that's definitely something they're hinting at, but its almost too on the nose and I'd honestly be disappointed if they just went down that route. Because there does appear to be some actual moral complexity in Wells' character. I'm constantly going back and forth on weather he's being manipulative or genuine, and that's a good thing. Case in point: the Blackout episode. He was straight up willing to risk his own life to try and get the timeline he cares so much about back on track. Now granted he was gambling on that pressure getting Barry his powers back, but that doesn't change the fact that he could have died there. Whatever Wells is working towards, its probably not selfish. He does believe in some bigger plan, and I'm curious what that is

The guy is usually awesome in small roles, see The Replicator in Criminal Minds and his memorable appearance on Chuck!

Okay, I'm calling it...

The original series is canon, except Reverse Flash fucked with time BEFORE he killed Barry's mother. And that he was taking revenge on Barry's father AND Barry. So he's created this fucked up hybrid of the original and new Flash.

That is awesome news. The Hamillsance Begins!

Anarchist terrorist con man, that is a great description.

I wonder what his characterization will be. Based on that description, he could easily go into insane Joker territory, he could be a friendly enemy, he could be any number of things.

Oh shit.

This...would actually be the best thing

No news on Mirror Master or The Trickster showing up yet?

I wish they could get Mark Hamill back but I'm guessing his schedule is booked solid for years. And a truck full of cash. He'd probably do it if it wasn't for Star Wars too, listening to Fatman on Batman he really liked playing the role.

Me from a while back. I am ecstatic about this news and I'm so glad Mark Hamill is making the time to guest on a CW show the same year as Star Wars. Such nerd respect, he does this out of love for the comics.

Hamill's Trickster was one of the cooler enemies on the first Flash show. That is super cool that they're bringing him back to do some version of the character. Do you think he'll use the same voice? Because that voice was pretty much a prototype of his Joker voice. If we get some insane Jokeresque cackling, I will be over the moon.

That would be SO DAMN COOL, in a mindscrew-y sort of way, but how on earth would they make that clear to the regular viewers?

Wow, I mean it's Mark Hamill so it's not that surprising but that's still a cool call back, only behind John Wesley Shipp, I'd put Hamill above Pays though just because Hamil is a bigger name and is going to be a part of a huge movie next year. I think they've made it abundantly clear that they were fans of the 90s show.

EDIT: Oh I guess David Cassidy? With Black Canary crossover?

Nah, a lot of people watched it compared to how many people watch TV these days though back in 1990-91 the ratings weren't anything to write home about, it just got screwed by an unfortunate time slot opposite of The Cosby Show and the Simpsons along with multiple preemptions on top of being very expensive to produce.

At least 50 remember watching it back then.

Yet another victim of cosby.

That would be cool. I never saw the original show.

Now I'll be disappointed if that doesn't happen.

That would be fucking nuts if they a) Went that way and b) Actually pulled it off.

HAMILL HYPE!!!

That is still the gold standard for crossovers. I loved how much Bruce was trolling Clark when Bruce was dating Lois. He was always sure to remind Clark that he had his chance and missed it.

Hamill and Clancy.

God I loved how on point the VA choices were for those series.

Shave Clancy's head and he would make a badass live action Luthor today.

But yes, the voice casting was damn awesome on those shows.

So, are we taking bets on seeing how much swag REVERSE FLASH will have?

Captain Boomerang set the bar high. Well, Captain Cold did as well. I am still torn on who had better swag out the gate.

The scale starts out with Tommy (1) and ends with Barrowman (10). Slade is a solid 9.5.

You messed up. It is, and forever shall be, The Barrowman. He must always have "The" before the name. He is that powerful.

Red Hood will be a solid 9.

Gotta be Captain Cold. He fucking won. Sure, Boomerang struck a deadly blow on Lyla, and it took both Flash and Arrow to stop him, but he still got caught and sent to Lian Yu. Cold got away in the most baller fashion.
