Which ends up being his Mom. The best of all his futures/pasts is the one where his Mom dies and his Dad goes to jail for it, at least that's my guess.

If there's one thing I like Flash to get inspired by Arrow is that if something doesn't work romantically you should drop it. Arrow did eventually and switched to Felicity as main love interest. This season it's not always working, but it's still improvement over Laurel. And most of all, the idea alone that canon pairing doesn't have to happen is one that should be drilled into Flash's folks brains.

This is CW we talking about Laurel can easily become a love interest again a few seasons from now .
Her becoming Canary even makes it easier.
I just hope flash don''t suffer to much from CW love drama.

Though, the events at the end being erased doesn't mean it was all a waste. We know Iris has feelings for Barry and vice versa, so the clock's ticking on Eddie and Linda. We have Wells's true identity and at least part of his motivations. We know reporter dude is close to blowing the case on Wells wide open. And remember, Barry knows everything that
happened. We'll have to wait till next week to see what all has changed (time travel in the DCU isn't so clean and fucking with the time stream can change events entirely), but all of that is there.

Maybe, But I doubt it. At most they might try it as final pairing when the show ends.
CW is very focused on romances and making them work. if audience doesn't like a pairing and they can't fix it they have no problems dumping it. Same thing happened on Vampire Diares. Stefan is the canon pairing, while Damon should at most play the obstacle, But everybody loved Damon so much, so now he's the main pair and they completely abandoned Stefan.

I feel like that was the only misstep in the episode. Audience going from being the only party that knows about Wells -> Caitlin/Cisco knowing / Barry not having time to hear it -> audience knowing isn't very interesting. They could have done a lot with Barry going back with the knowledge of who Wells really is. Just knowing isn't enough for Barry to win at this point and I would have loved to see more tension between the two.
 
Wells is sublimely terrifying. No one has any hope of stopping him right now. Barry's only hope is really teaming up with Captain Cold depending on how much he's mastered the tech behind his cold gun (Absolute zero). Though Cisco built it, the guns are currently confiscated. So I wonder if the Captain has
built the cold gun himself that we see in the next episode.

The tension going to come from him finding out on his own while trying to hide his feelings from Wells over time.
I don't think Barry good enough to hide if he found out form Wells for 7 to 8 more eps this season have .

Understandable. I don't watch the promos or count remaining episodes in general, just go off of how the episodes feel. Seems a little strange to pull a time travel mulligan (hilarious considering it's a comic-book property, I know) without anything gained other than the fact that Iris will accept a make-out session. That's just me though.

He's got more info than that though. He still knows Mason is looking into Wells. He knows how to catch Weather Wizard before he does anything. He's going to avoid almost everything that went wrong in this episode whether he knows it or not.
 
One of my favorite episodes so far.

I haven't read the comic about this paticular so bear with me while I speculate.
In the episode where Reverse Flash kills all the cops after escaping the "trap" he was in, he spared Eddie after giving him a long stare which made Eddie even question it. After it was revealed Wells was indeed the Reverse Flash, I knew he was Eobard Thawne from the future, and had he killed Eddie Thawne (his ancestor), he would have created a paradox and essentially killing himself because he would have never existed.
I don't know if the next episode will create two alternate timelines, but I'm pissed that Cisco is dead. Heartbreaking scene. But it also pisses me off that now that Barry went back in time, it's probably going to change the entire outcome. Will Eobard/Wells still be discovered, since Iris' boss has "substantial" evidence?
Will Barry take advantage of knowing how Iris feels and finally bang her? (Lol) She doesn't have to know he's the flash although that scene where he finally reveals it to her was pretty dope.
This episode had a few plot holes if you wanna call it that, though. When Barry saves Joe from the lightning bolt, and avoids the explosion from the car just a few yards away, with Weather Wizard right behind them, why didn't he (WW) make an attempt to kill them again? I know he (Barry) did it fast but there's no way he (WW) wouldn't have noticed them laying on the grass right off the road. Yes, Barry could've just zipped out of there again but I hate when this show does that.. Fades to a commercial without showing them actually escape.
Also when Weather Wizard escaped the precinct, powerless with that device near him, yet no one chases him. The captain already rescued by flash. Someone should've chased and killed that fucker.
Also, when Wells leaves his wheelchair at the coffee spot, he basically says fuck it with his secret. They're going to find Cisco dead (in that timeline) and everyone will know it was Wells. Knowing how brilliant Wells is, why would he do something so stupid? Maybe he knew when Barry told him he saw himself, it wasn't a speed mirage, he actually saw him break the time barrier. Which also makes me think, why would he waste his time making that speech to Cisco before killing him?
This is one giant clusterfuck of speculation but man I can't wait for next weeks episode. They better not go on another hiatus until the finale

Well, I liked the Barry Iris kiss... so that's two of us.

Iris was acting kinda horrible the last couple of episodes, but I feel like it's worth it if she really likes him and follows through. This may be colored by a real world example I witmessed where the people in question have now been married for decades.
 
When Barry first saw himself early in the episode and went to wells, how come time travel wasn't suggested as the cause? They didn't mention time travel at all during this episode until it actually happened at the end.

I was thinking to my self was this an alternative timeline where Barry didn't find out about time travel ? Because last episode he said he can save his mom because of the time travel or am I missing something?
 
I still can't get over those Cisco tears. That scene had me going so bad. Besides the expected Time Travel, that was my favorite moment, simply because of the emotion.

Wells obviously knew what the cause was, but he probably wanted Barry to figure it out for himself

Why wold he timetravel to himself just to run along? It was just an very elaborate after image, which confused Barry.
 
Ok holy shit, just saw a 2 minute trailer on ew basically showing the rest of the season and upcoming characters (wtf is Ray?)

Basically,
Wells still gets revealed and has it out for Barry, and Eddies Thawne is on his way to be a villain
Cisco seems to be alive, meets the black widow
Mark Hamill seems to be playing the joker or something similar too

In next episode Flash manages to barely save Cisco who only gets wounded, but residual vibration from Reverse Flash's hand transforms his body and Cisco becomes what he was always meant to be....

I love how it fully embraces comic book craziness (a tsunami is heading toward Central City! Intelligent psychic gorilla!) without being silly camp.
 
Wow, fantastic episode.

I can't watch awkward cringeworthy scenes in TV show and movies so I basically skipped most of the bowling alley part of the episode but the rest was great.
Romances are a big part of these shows and in general I have nothing against them but the Barry/Iris thing just seems creepy to me. Barry has been her adopted brother for most of his life, even the reporter fellow called him Iris' brother.

Cisco and Wells were amazing together. Cisco knew he was dead when Wells turned up and acted amazingly well. Wells was well acted and was intimidating when he confronted Cisco.

The special effects were great this episode, not sure if that's due to them having more time to work on them due to the hiatus or what.

The Weather Wizard wasn't a particularly amazing villain but the episode wasn't about him so that's OK. The special effects of for him were cool though

I just get chills even thinking about it — it wasn’t something we intended, it’s what they brought to it.”
