About damn time.

Pretty shameless that there was no 3D version before and now they are trying to make people pay twice for the collectors edition combined with 3D in a way they likely charge even more than a 3D or collectors edition alone.

I've been waiting for 3D but I might not even get it now if they try that shit. 3D versions are typically overpriced as it is.

They did announce the 3D version was coming later in the year though. I always expected it to have additional features, though it is a bit annoying.

Yeah I knew, which is why I waited, but to get this kind of announcement for a release that is , what, six months after the initial release and likely costs even more is bullshit.

I really don't give a shit about collectors editions of anything, especially when it feels like a way to squeeze more money out of fans.

4k version will be out when 40k TVs are available and our retinas are burned out our eye sockets..

4K > 3D

I wonder if the imax Falcon scene will have the aspect ratio expanded.

Disney reps have said it's included in Civil War 3D (not 2D, though), so I think it's a good bet it will be here. With Disney (TRON) and Marvel (GotG, Civil War) both doing it, why not?

Well, according to Bill Hunt with the Digital Bits, LucasFilm is NOT including the shifting AR with this version.

So, that sucks.

Too late, I already bought the Blu-Ray.
I'm not buying it again just for 3D. Should've released the 3D one in the first place rather than trying to force people to double dip.

Will wait for the normal priced 3D BD before I buy this movie.

Yep. It's just price gouging at this point. They could and should have released the 3D version same day. Fuckers.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Nice. Glad I waited.

There was precisely one scene that I felt was awesome in 3D and that was the in-your-face Star Destroyer. Man that popped, especially in IMAX. I instinctively swatted in front of my face I thought it was gonna get me.

Ahhhh, good i never bought the bluray and yet i LOVE the movie

I do own the dvd and i bought the digital from the google play store and saw it 3 times in the cinema, though so why not.

Bring on the ultra super box set in 2020 with all three new trilogy films 12 discs episode 7-9, then the complete saga 1-9 film set afterwards with 21 discs thats inevitable, based on (7-9 4 disc sets and the current 9 disc bluray pt/ot set)

And so on.

Yep and it's going to look glorious on my 120 inch projector screen. Fuck the haters.

Yup 3D is amazing at home on a projector, it was pretty damn good on my plasma as well. I have people come over just to watch 3D on the projector, cant wait to pick this one up and do a screening =)
