That's what I'm fearing. I will be gutted if that happens. I hope that if the rumours are true, Peter Sauber has the balls to tell Ferrari where to go.Gets replaced by Bianchi, Sauber gets to be a backmarker for 2012 with Williams, Marussia and HRT?
Are Grosjean or Kimi bringing any new sponsorship?
Arent Lotus going to loose loads after dumping petrov? Half thier car has Russian sponsorship on it.

Where and how will you spend Christmas and New Years eve?
KK: Before Christmas I will go back from Japan to Switzerland for several meetings in the factory. After this as yet I have no plans. I am hoping for a good break between Christmas and New Year, and I dont care where I will be as long as it is a quiet place to relax.
Just found an Interview posted on the Sauber Website three days ago:
I really hope this is all a rumor. Bianchi was pretty close to fetching a Sauber seat a year ago, but Perez got it in the end.
He's talking about what he'll do during his break time, not what he's doing once testing starts.
And its fantastic to see Grosjean getting a proper seat. Lotus have a pretty exciting driver line-up now.
I'm sure Lotus has plenty of outs in their contract with Grojean. No doubt there's one for Kubica. I personally don't think he'll ever be back to be honest. Lotus or otherwise.Grojean will get a full season or just until kubica return?
Grojean will get a full season or just until kubica return?
Kubica's case is mystery now
a week or so ago his manager said he'll hold an emergency meeting with Renault, but we didnt hear anything..
if Kubica comes back, it won't be in Renault/Lotus as it seems
Grojean will get a full season or just until kubica return?
I thought he'd start testing in a GP2 car in January, to see if he's ready for F1?
If he hasn't even been out karting first, he's not gonna be thrown straight into a GP2 car in a month's time. There's no way. Must have been an optimistic claim.

"I just need more time, as I want to be 100% ready"
Wednesday 23 November 2011 - 10h35, by Olivier Ferret
Robert Kubica has today informed Lotus Renault GP that, despite having started an intensive training programme, it is still too early for him to commit to driving in the 2012 championship. Robert’s progress remains impressive – he can now walk freely, and move his hand and elbow -, but he feels that he needs more time to return to full fitness.
Lotus Renault GP remains committed to helping Robert as much as possible in his recovery process. A test car is ready and waiting for him, and a dedicated crew is on stand-by. Of course, Robert will remain a member of the LRGP family in 2012 and he is already, through his management, holding talks about renewing his contract for the following season.
Although very disappointed by the news, Lotus Renault GP will start assessing its options and will evaluate the most suitable candidate to drive from the first 2012 winter testing session. Once again, all the members of Lotus Renault GP wish Robert a full and speedy recovery as we say: “Szybkiego powrotu do zdrowia” - Get well soon our friend.
Robert Kubica: “Even if I’ve been working very, very hard over the course of the last few weeks, I came to the conclusion that I am not yet certain to be ready for the 2012 season. I have called the team and I have informed them of the situation. This was a difficult decision to make, but it is the most reasonable one. I also know that LRGP need to prepare for next year, and further extending deadlines would not have been the right thing to do. On a personal level, my recovery is still very encouraging and my doctors keep being impressed. I just need more time, as I want to be 100% ready before I commit to anything driving related. Finally, I regret not having been able to provide more news and not having appeared in the papers, and I thank my friends of the media for understanding that this has been the best way for me to cope with what has been the most difficult period of my life.”
Eric Boullier, Managing Director and Team Principal: “Everybody in the team is, of course, very disappointed today. Robert not driving in Australia at the start of next season is not what we were all hoping for. However, he has taken a very mature decision, acting in the best interests of Lotus Renault GP. As a team and as a family, we remain 100% behind him and we’ll help as much as we can. A programme composed of simulator testing, single-seater and F1 track time is awaiting him. In the meantime, we will start talking to a few drivers in order to finalise our line-up for next year as soon as possible. Robert will take it step by step and will jump back in his racing car when he feels it is the right moment to do so. On behalf of all 520 members of the team, I wish him a speedy recovery.”

However speaking to Italian colleagues last night, Kubica’s manager Daniel Morelli said, “He didn’t say that. He said he will not be ready for the tests at the start of the year. That’s not the same as saying he will miss the season.
“I don’t know why they have changed his words.”
This is all very interesting, as there is a further contradiction with LRGP boss Eric Boullier saying that Kubica will remain part of the Renault family, but Morelli goes on to say that Kubica is a free agent at the end of this year, “The contract doesn’t go to 2012. From 1 January we will be free to go where we want.
“If Robert Kubica comes back it will be because he’s as competitive as he was before and because he’s attractive to top teams.”
Italian colleagues who have spoken extensively with Kubica’s doctor Riccardo Ceccarelli, insist that Kubica will be ready to drive a car again a few months into next year. There have been suggestions that he may even do some GP2 as a form of training. His objective is to come back, but only when he’s sure he’s ready.
On Wednesday of this week, a press release spearheaded by team boss Boullier claimed that Kubica would not be ready for the start of next season, leading Morelli to state that the information was false. However, Boullier has spoken out again, stating that the only confusion surrounded a subsequent Eastern European translation.
"The situation is quite clear," said Boullier. "We have a contract with Robert until the end of this year, terminating this year. This is why we are using our channel for the communication with him and we agree with his manager, Daniele Morelli, to issue a press release before this week, which was entirely approved by both parties before being released.
"The choice of the wording is my responsibility and I think the message was clear. We have waited for Robert. We would like Robert to be back. He informed us that, unfortunately, he would not be able to be at the first test, which means he will not be able to start the season for me, so that’s it.
"I think the issue came up that some translation maybe was wrongly done in the far East of Europe and the message was really that he would not be able to be back in 2012 which is not the message at all. The message was clear. He will not be at the start of the season, or the test if you want, but he may come back next year."
If he hasn't even been out karting first, he's not gonna be thrown straight into a GP2 car in a month's time. There's no way. Must have been an optimistic claim.

Can't really dispute that, although I'd have Sutil or maybe di Resta in the top five.
I thought he'd start testing in a GP2 car in January, to see if he's ready for F1?
I think you should probably let go of that fantasy. Robert's accident has effectively ended his F1 career and I can't imagine him ever being a regular reason driver again.
Obviously sad not to see Webs there, but hardly surprising. Would've thought he'd have rated higher than Nando though. I would've said Webber had driven better this year, even when excluding actual car performance.Edmond Dantès;33320263 said:Well, the top five were:
01 Sebastian Vettel
02 Jenson Button
03 Fernando Alonso
04 Heikki Kovalainen

As a Webber fan and as someone who dislikes Alonso, even I have to disagree.Obviously sad not to see Webs there, but hardly surprising. Would've thought he'd have rated higher than Nando though. I would've said Webber had driven better this year, even when excluding actual car performance.
Hm, yeah. When you put it that way, I have to agree. I think Webber's best was better than Alonso's best (China omg), but Alonso was more consistently at a higher level than Webber.Yeah, Alonso pretty much got the maximum out of that Ferrari all year. Webber didn't come close to doing the same with the Red Bull.
Mark Webber is hilarious in a suit. Didn't recognise him at first glance.

I've kinda lost track of WRC over the years. Looking at these pics made me check, and holy christ at Loeb getting an eighth consecutive championship. He has to be the most dominant anyone at anything.
As great as Loeb is, hes really benefiting from a lack of competition. He wouldt have won eight against the likes of Makinen, McRae, Sainz etc.I've kinda lost track of WRC over the years. His manager said a while ago that he wouldn't drive a kart for a while because of the extreme vibration and lack of power steering putting to much strain on his arm, the first step of his comeback would probably be in a GP2 car.
