That's it. Drive through and on the wrong tires. Fuck. WDC definitely over now. Putting all hope in Button wins now for remainder of the season.

I'm so confused with tyre strategies @_@
So is Hamilton and Webber.

It's a Button vs Vettel fight to the end then? Alonso creeping up on them too.

Hamilton absolutely deserves a drive through for that. Bad luck with the strategies all race but that was his own stupidity.

Pretty much, fucked himself over with that stupid move on the track.

Inters were a gamble, but he still could've finished ok without the drive-through.

FIA are always far too quick to hand out drive throughs. It's like they're scared of danger.

Hamilton could've wiped out Di Resta. I'm all for wheel to wheel driving and the odd bit of contact, but it was stupid by Hamilton.

Just a thought for the race so far:

Canada: Button takes 6 stops and wins. Hungary: Hamilton takes 6 stops and rages

Their duty is to protect the lives of the drivers, and that's what they do.

There's a difference between being careful, and being overly careful.

The FIA this year are handing out penalties to everyone without second thought.

As long as Hamilton keeps his head, he can still finish 4th. It would be fitting for Jenson to win on his 200th GP at the circuit where he won his first one.

I thought their duty was to govern the premier motorsport where men (woman in future probably) put machinery to the limits.

FIA constantly gets in the way of good races.

Except he deserved this one. Really bonehead move to do that in traffic. One thing to do it if you are alone, totally different with others around. Switching to wets at the end of the race was dumb. If he went onto softs then he would be 4th now and might have got 3rd.

Hamilton deserved it in that case, what he did was dangerous.

oh come on now, sure he was slow as fuck, but he made no mistakes.

The easy with which he was passed makes him undeserving of 2nd place finish. And he hasn't had to make any passes himself other than Alonso on destroyed tyres.

Brundle and Coulthard disagree and I bet everyone on the track racing would disagree with you.

There is a safe way to rejoin the race after spinning like that, and Hamilton chose not to do it. If he had waited a second longer for clear track he could've rejoined normally, but he didn't. He caused Di Resta to have to swerve violently, at a very fast part of the track, to avoid him. This is also while the track was very slick with fresh rain, which is what made Hamilton spin in the first place. Di Resta was lucky to keep control, but there was a barrier just a few meters off the side, and things could've gone very differently. He put himself and the others in danger, needlessly. You just can't tolerate that kind of behavior.
