I have never seen a race like that. Max keeps it entertaining but I believe this race will have consequences for him. That was not brake check, just pure communication error.

He was told to slow, so he did. The problem was race control hadn't made sure Merc and Lewis also knew. But Lewis slowed right down too because he didn't want Max having DRS into first turn.

The situation should never have been allowed to play out like that. Massi is a fucking joke.

This is very simple, both drivers were clearly thinking about getting DRS, only one crashed into the other car.

This Mercedes logic that Lewis didn't know Max was letting him through makes no sense. I don't know how Hamilton became a 7 time WDC without knowing he can overtake cars during a race. I'm also surprised how he survives every race, so many lapped cars slowing down on the racing line to let him through and he never crashes, truly a miracle.

Stop talking out of your ass. Max is more comparable to Senna and Schumacher in the sense that he has to push the car to its limit to actually win in this 2nd half of the season. Those who have watched f1 in the Mercedes Lewis era seem to think racing is when everyone moves aside for Mercedes with no challenge.

What happened to reasoned discussion and subtilty... I understand that right now we can only consider a couple months of collective memory but why call out someone in a sport that effectively started in 1946 and claim that 66 years only NOW this guy is the dirtiest driver ever.

As bad as Senna and MSC were they never resorted to brake testing anybody during a race.

I am aware Keke has brake tested rookies during practice sessions and he was read the riot act for such behaviour.

The bottom line is that brake testing is one of the biggest no-no's in Motorsport and Max is fine with pulling such a move.

If he wanted to legitimately play DRS chicken safely there are ways to do so like sticking to one side of the track and pulling the move when Hamilton is not in the slipstream.

We have lots of current or ex drivers all saying that Max was well over the line and hia driving standards were atrocious. When will Max fans accept the facts, Max does not race fairly.

As for not liking him I prefer Hamilton but had no real dislike for Max until SA and even now I don't really dislike him but I do think he is dirty.

Edit to add: In addition you talk about subtlety, there is no subtlety. Max brake tested a competitor, there is nothing subtle about it, there is no nuance to discuss.

Max says he’s super calm and cool about everything on camera but on track he’s clearly not.

The last race is certainly going to be exciting.

I've watched F1 since the late eighties, and have gone back and watched races going back to the sixties.

Verstappen is an angelic little boy compared to some of the shenanigans they got up to when it was a hard man's sport.
