I wish Formula One had an Xbox One app.

If it had, it would probably cost 59 bucks every year.

Apart from that, our cane-waving Mr. Ecclestone probably thinks that people owning video game consoles are too young to be in F1's target group.

Realistically speaking, an Xbox One app wouldn't make much commercial sense until there's a PS4 app, given how the target audience of F1 is primarily European and Asian.

Red Flag on track, Maldonado was the only one on track, and stalled just before the final corner.

Awful under braking, slow in low speed turns, loose on corner exit & ragged in high speed corners, #ToroRosso have +++ work to do! #F1 #Jerez

Wasn't there a rumor floating around that MS wanted to buy the license for the F1 games?

Sainz and Verstappen don't seem that bothered...

They've both been able to do a ton of laps, finetuning the car to handle better seems like a pretty luxurious problem to have on the 2nd of the first test.

Agreed. RBR was utter shit last year in the first test and they were the only non-Merc GP winners. TR isn't going to be winning GP's this year but there is a long way to go until Q1 in Melbourne.

e* Merc done for the day

@MercedesAMGF1
That'll be us for today - investigations revealed a water leak from a failed part. The crew are now working hard to get the car... (1/2) #F1

...ready for a return to action tomorrow @circuitodejerez. (2/2) #TestingTimes #BackToWork #F1

Yep.

It's not invincible !!!
At least Hamilton got in a good amount of laps this morning.
Plus it's raining heavily now so eh, no big loss for them...

I just remembered that Codemasters is supposed to release an F1 game in the coming months. I wonder if it's still on track.

Sauber improved 9 seconds over last year at Jerez.....
Doesn't say much but how abissimal last years car was from the beginning....

McLaren with 6 laps yesterday and just 5 today. That doesn't sound good...

Is anyone really surprised? All engine suppliers had lots of troubles last year. Why should it be different for Honda.

I have, indeed, seen what you did there.

Honda engine is shite and Mclaren exclusivity deal means it's unlikely to get better fast. That could end up being the biggest gap between the skill of a driver pairing and the car at their disposal since the 2009 Sauber.

It's perfectly normal tbh, nothing to really worry about too much.
They have to get those basic problems out of the way and seem to be understanding the problems and correcting them in a timely fashion each time.
Sure, they're losing some running but it's very much necessary to do all of that.
I'm sure they were planning on having to focus on the engine entirely for the first test.

dat doom and gloom in here, remember how bad RBR were last year? They won 3 GP's last year.

McL won't win 3 GP's this year though

Shit, I was impressed by how tight is McLaren's butt, but Williams seems to be even tighter!

Now McLaren's

Not as ugly as their 2012 model, though:

EDIT: I was looking at their 2011 and 2013 models, and they were just as tight like that too. They seem to like slim bunbuns.

Pat Symonds on the Williams twitter:

On if there will be changes between now and the opener:

PS: The most visual change between now and the first race will be a new rear wing #AskWMR

On the main focus of development this year:

PS: Our main development has been working on the air flow around the rear of the car #ASKWMR

On why they chose to go with the stub/open nose construction:

PS: Aerodynamics are improved although its harder to pass the crash test #AskWMR

I can GAFCLUSIVELY reveal that Ferrari team gave Vettel a round of applause when he got out from the car at the end of the day. You could hear it at the back of the garage.

Shit, I was impressed by how tight is McLaren's butt, but Williams seems to be even tighter!

#AskWMR @WilliamsRacing Which part of the car the team focused on the development for this year?

@WilliamsRacing What is the biggest change to the chassis from the FW36 to FW37? #AskWMR

WILLIAMS RACING ‏@WilliamsRacing 1h1 hour ago
PS: We have tidied up the rear end of the car and improved the rear suspension #AskWMR

Also it's good to hear if they are in fight, this year they'll go for it:

Deejay ‏@DJSinghx 5h5 hours ago
@WilliamsRacing #AskWMR Will you go for aggressive strategies this year to go outright for wins rather than secure podiums/points finishes?

WILLIAMS RACING ‏@WilliamsRacing 1h1 hour ago
PS: If we are in the position to be winning races this year then we will be going for it #AskWMR

I just remembered that Codemasters is supposed to release an F1 game in the coming months. I wonder if it's still on track.

I went looking and there's no news since the release of F1 2014, i don't think they'll be any news till the season starts as they'll need the final liveries for PR.

It took almost 250 laps or almost 1100 km for Mercedes engine to experience broken part. This is almost 4 race distances, very impressive.

I have, indeed, seen what you did there.

There's plenty of puns to be had about Codemasters' games.

I don't think they can wait until Melbourne to get the final liveries if they want to release it in March. They will have to push them in an update.
