So Mercedes dominating F1 and grandstands at both venues doesn't want to foot the difference?

Must have been a big difference then.

The Nurburging was only recently bought out by new investors stopping it from going completely bankrupt. They've had to deal with paying off the insane debt the track had already built up; I am absolutely on their side for not giving in to Bernie's demands, and also to Mercedes for not footing the bill.

I don't really care for the Hockenheim circuit, and though I won't bother finding the numbers, I'm going to guess Hockenheim had a lower turnout than the Nurburgring. Or at the very least, I can't recall a year when I watched a race at Hockenheim and didn't notice how empty the stadium section was.

Same.

Hockenheim was dead to me the moment Hermann Tilke fucked it up.

Is it weird that despite Honda's pitiful performance I've got a bit of a semi over an S2000?

Moving out of London and to Worcester in a few months and the combination of lower insurance and much nicer driving roads is pulling me toward something fun to go alongside my family sized car!

Without even looking at more specialised insurance it would only be £450 for me (30, 7 years ncd). With an Adrian Flux I reckon I might get it down to £350.

Get a Golf R or a GT86

Not that I'm biased or anything >.>

I echo the Hockenheim comments. The trees made it awesome.

Would love a Nurb track though for Germany. It just makes sense.

But...

Fuck Bernie. Hurry up and die already. Seriously.

This guy has written up an extensive review of the 2014 season - played out on a grid without Mercedes. Long but great reading.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

I think he's going to do it throughout 2015 too. It's not done out of any hate for Mercedes - just a bit of fun!

There's a lot of good sheds around for a couple of grand.

go for it, as long are there aren't any roundabouts with trees near them (although they've probably all been knocked down by previous S2000 owners)

joking aside, it is a pretty gorgeous car.

I think you should go for a Toyota MR-S (MR-2 Roadster), cheap, mid-engine and super fun to drive.

From just looking at them I prefer the S2000, I have to say. An MR2 would allow me to buy a newer model by a couple of years, but It's not going to see many miles so I'm not that bothered provided it's sound.

Looking at maybe 6 as a maximum. Ideally I'd like the GT for those wetter months. Seen plenty of nice examples so far.

Ha, I've read it has a bit of a reputation for spitting people off the road when they don't respect the conditions. Fortunately I'll be living about 5 minutes from Throckmorton Airfield where I can give it a lashing in the crappy weather and behave a little more on the real roads.

I have a British Card (Rover) with an Honda engine inside, with 320.000 km and almost 20 years old, goes well so far :D

I've heard a lot of people being very happy with how durable their Honda engines are, especially the S2000 one.

Hill has a legitimate claim, Schumacher should have never been allowed to keep that title.

Barichello on the other hand, is full of shit. He finished with half the points of Schumacher that season. Which, incidentally, was still easily good enough for 2nd in the championship. Good thing that Formula 1 used to be exciting and open.

I don't think highly of Red Bull, but them leaving would be a big blow, if no one with an equal amount of money steps in to take over the team.

Sorry to be a little OT, but I figure it's worth a shot: does anyone know anywhere I can watch the Stock Car Brasil live online this weekend?

So yeah, they're both right. Audi won't come into F1 in its current state and lets be fair, Bernie will claw at everything to stay in F1.

Is it the first round of the year? I'd love to watch it, what are the chances it'll appear on some kind of download site somewhere, regardless of how popular it isn't?
