Shhhhhh, that doesn't fit the narrative....And the Witcher 3 had performance issues on launch on PS4 as well.
This game will win GOTY awards left and right regardless of its performance. Kind of a shame because The Witcher 3 delivered the most beautiful open world game I have ever played this year.
They didn't go above and beyond imo. They needed to sell the consoles at a loss with better gpus and slightly better cpus to go above and beyond but instead they played it safe. Ram is cheap as hell. I'm hoping for a short generation because we are already seeing games 2 years in running poorly and some on one console doing it at sub 1080p in 2015. 8 years of this will suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
CD project red publicly acknowledged that the console versions were shit prior to release? I don't really believe that.

How does something being beautiful make it a goty candidate?
That was a catholic religion dark joke, im sorry if u didnt got it, maybe u dont know the dark side and past of some catholic priests.
To be clear i was not comparing Bugthesda to a child molester, i was comparing Bugthesda with a Religion, that can do many things wrong and always get away with it because is praised by so many.
Are people really expecting him to say it runs poorly? Like he's going to admit the game his company made has issues.

I haven't seen a lot of games that run 'poorly' on consoles. They don't match PC performance but they were never going to. Don't take Bethesda's incompetence as an industry standard.
So just to recap afaik what's going on in this (fast moving) thread:
- Title of the thread makes people think the PS4 version (specifically) has major FPS issues inside buildings
- Video posted by OP showed some (minor for some, major for others) slow downs in about 3 instances
- Many argue they don't really see it, others that it is a major offense and that it looks horrible
- Another video is posted with a scope zoom that shows a major hit in fps
- Some deduce that if the PS4 version has serious technical problems, then the XB1 version must be fine and imply they are switching their pre-order (whether they are joking or not is left in the air)
- Some others freak out taking for granted that the XB1 version is superior (without evidence) and start accusing Bethesda of being paid off by MS to mess up the PS4 version (which may or may not eventually be patched). Again, whether THAT is a joke or not is left up in the air.
- Bethesda is generally ridiculed for releasing majorly glitched titles, specially on consoles, but overall on PC as well
- Some people report videos and player posts (on reddit and other places) where no problems are being mentioned on PS4
That about it, or did I forget anything major?

I switched my cooy over to Xbox One just to be on the safe side.
Marketting deal or not, you don't send the worst version of a game to critics. Lol.
Some people claiming to have the game are saying it runs just fine, clearly some people say the opposite. There's so much anecdotal evidence running through the river of gaf this week, man. Shout out to people trying to be civil and understanding how circumstantial everything is at this point, both reasonably positive and reasonably critical side. But man, the knee-jerk reactions and hyperbole are some of the most sever I've seen on gaf this year.

Fallout 4 |OT| From where you're standing it must seem like a couple patches could fix this. Truth is...Gamebryo was broken from the start
Depends on your platform. Framerate was never really an issue with the XB1 version.Lets be honest Witcher performance was pretty aweful in places until the more recent patches.
Games, are running better than previous gen, compared to the same point in time as well, and on PS4 they maintain the 1080P res better than last gen's 720, so basically what you just said is bullshit. They didn't go above and beyond imo. Ask that question about Journey.
The Witcher 3 wasn't only beautiful, but it delivered on almost every other aspect as well.

Also the ubisoft open world didn't impress me in the slightest.

Wait.
Yeah thats the adult decision, but all the cool kids are going to play the game on day one![]()
Witcher 3 runs poorly on ps4. I beat it and its my game of the year. I also had framerate drops in Bloodborne this year another great game. It's just the standard. Witcher 3 even playing it today has one of the most annoying uis and menu lag along with super long load times and fps drops.
...And the Witcher 3 had performance issues on launch on PS4 as well.
I should buy this game on day one? or Should i wait for bug patches?
Wait.
DF said the game is running better on the PS4 after the latest patch, so "issue" is subjective.Depends on your platform. Framerate was never really an issue with the XB1 version.
I don't understand why so many people always just assume performance issues are due to the GPU when the CPU is the weakest part of these consoles. I suppose they could be memory bound as well, in which case lowering the rest could help. Do we have any idea what the max usable RAM for each system is at this point? If they can't keep solid performance with those jank graphics, they should've just dropped the resolution. It's not like anything you'd be looking at in this game at 1080p wouldn't still look muddy as hell regardless.
Maybe some of that fancy dynamic resolution stuff would help?
Not surprised by this at all... In fact, for a Bethesda game, this isn't the worst by a long shot. Probably not in top 30 bad bugs in their game catalog.
I bought Skyrim and Fallout 3 at launch on ps3 and they both ran much worse than this imo. Fallout also had tons of game breaking bugs on ps3. Still beat both and loved both but maybe that makes me crazy.
I'm not upset by the frame drops because I was expecting them to run like garbage. Still pre ordered it they make fantastic games.

Metal Gear Solid 5 also has incredibly barren environments with very few dynamic world events and last gen texture quality even on PC. They set a framerate goal and hit it but it came with many compromises. When developers do their homework and optimize properly, you also get games like MGS V that run butter smooth and look equally good on all platforms. It's not hardware that's lacking, it's the developers and the pressure of handling multiple platforms.
On top of being beautiful the game is supposed to be really good.

It did? I played it at launch and I can't remember what happened...
