that feel when the hat guy equips his notepad like a shield because they copy-pasted animations from skyrim

pixar-level of animation skill here guys

ROFL

How did I never catch that?

Was it there when they demoed it at E3?

While that's a bummer, I beat 3 multiple times on the PS3 so this looks like a smooth 60 in comparison to that entire game.

I was going to say the same thing, I expected the vids to be worse but this seems minor to me. Game looks better than I thought it would tbh

He born of need made to view the start of a journey of great suffering for all endless time he is an eyeless god and he watches.

This game will win GOTY awards left and right regardless of its performance. Kind of a shame because The Witcher 3 delivered the most beautiful open world game I have ever played this year.
Pretty sure Witcher 3 will sweep the journalists' awards this year.

Maybe he has a receiver in his ear that just told him the nukes were coming and he was like "Yup, stapling my clipboard to my wrist now, I am so out of here"

Yet the XBox One and the PS4 are more closely related in hardware tech (x86) to each other, than the 360 (Power PC) and the Xbox One.

Now tool environment can be an issue, however the general consensus with what is out there in cross platform games heavily favoring the PS4 in not only better resolutions, but performance puts a strike in that theory as well. Especially when every developer even early on said it was super easy porting PC games to the PS4, and getting great performance before optimizations.

This has been par for the course with Bethesda. It is 2015, this is not the complex PS3, no excuses anymore.

It's certainly true that 99% have been better on PS4, but there still are the rare instances where the Xbone version comes out on top. It can certainly happen again.

And remember this Bethesda we're talking here, I mean just look at that clipboard shield gif, tech is not their strong suit.

Thanks to this thread I'm now really excited to see what the reviews are going to be like.

Because either way its going to be extremely controversial.

Clipboard guy is pretty great.

Lol at the hat guy gif.

You don't see that animation in normal gameplay because the player is stood directly in front of the closing door. And it's not copied from Skyrim... The clipboard is just parented to his right hand, so that's where it goes when the animation completes, out of sight.

I know I bookmarked this for a reason:

Does it look terrible? No.

Are there any open-world RPGs that look better on PS4? Yes.

I expect this to be rock solid 30 fps with literally zero performance bugs. You have billions of dollars Bethesda, an old-ass engine that you know inside out and powerful PC-like systems in the form of PS4 and XBone.

The game cannot crash. It simply cannot.

Rofl, i saw that clip alot times and just now i noticed that... Bethesca really need to step up they game regarding animations.

Watched the videos in the OP and the only one that slightly bothered me was the scope. The rest are fine and the frame drops won't hinder my experience.

I don't know how to say this without sounding like a Bethesda defender.

But how does that awful clipboard animation affect my enjoyment of the game? That has been around for months and we are just noticing it now. I'm not saying it's acceptable, but if it was a choice between say, adding weapon mods, or adding more locations, etc. or making sure that dude doesn't hold his clipboard like a shield, I know what I'm choosing.

Different people have different expectations for what works for them and what breaks their immersion.

Me for instance, finds this ugly as fuck in late 2015, and have expectations a little higher than shit that was more forgiving 10 years ago.
