"The Freeman Returns" with The Official Orange Box Thread

One of the reasons that make me think that the PC version has some advantage is Portal. That game is only 3-4 hours long. But in PC the game life will be much longer thanks to the community. There is a lot of creative people out there and portal is a great base to built levels for.
 
The game is suppose to be available the 10th. Why the hell is it then being unlocked at midnight on the 10th? Meaning we have to wait until the 11th to play it. Meaning if I get my box copy in the morning I have to look at the case for nearly 14 damn hours.

It's being unlocked tonight, two minutes after 11:59PM PST.
 
Looks like my Gamespot order is already out for delivery. And here I thought I would be playing these on my PC before the 360.

So, I want to get some clarification.

1) Is the 360 version got some sort of snazy new motion blur/HDR going on that wasnt in the original release? I know its 30FPS, but Ive heard rumors that it looks better.

2) Does it come with Lost Coast.

I never played much HL2 bc my PC isnt up to snuff. Now I can play it on my couch. nice.

Was there any word on whether Valve's stream loading technology made it into Episode 2, or the console versions of HL2 and EP1? And has there been any hints as to when the HL2 updates will be available for PC players?

... it's been pre-loaded on my machine since last week and I can't play it. This is how Steam works and I wouldn't be surprised if retail were partially to blame for it.

Anyway, as others have said ... TONIGHT BITCHES!

(actually, we should get a pool going on how long it'll be before Valve's servers recover and we can play E2 and Portal)

1. Sweet. At least my wait might have some benefit.. motion blur + HDR could be nice.
2. Not cool. Am I missing much? Possibly downloadable later?

No. There are 2 versions of the Source engine. The original and Source 2007. MOD Makers have to make 2 seperate versions of mod due to the code differences to work in products from both families at this time.
 
I remember some PC-XBOX360 comparision shots were thrown around not too long ago, that showed one of these Three legged things (forgot the name now) on a forest-y location. One was bare and the other one had much more folliage and less fog.

Those were xbox and pc comparision shots, or new source engine vs old source engine?

Search seems to be down and i can't find them anywhere else.

It's going to be a bit weird to see GOTY awards given effectively to three different games this year. Which one is GOTY? Or is it all of them?

I'm okay with it, though.
