Fatghost said:On the in-level loading:
It's slower on 360 than it was on PC, but not too bad. It's not 30-60 seconds, it's closer to 10-15, and you get a progress bar, PC just gets a LOADING sign.
Still a jarring thing for a console game though.

when i played HL2 on PC when it first came out, i faced 30 - 60 second load times, so this'll be refreshing for me if anything.Fatghost said:On the in-level loading:

Tremis said:Started Portal at 3 a.m. and finished at 6 this morning. It was bar-none, the single most awesome and satisfying 3 hours of gaming I've ever experienced. EVER! I was giddy, GIDDY I TELL YOU, after finishing this and could barely sleep. Who ever wrote the dialogue for this game is genius.

Same. Portal is amazing. Valve has got to be the top PC dev right now overall.Scotch said:I haven't started Ep2 yet, but Portal is currently my GOTY. I'm not kidding. Those three hours were the best gaming hours I've had in a long, long time. Utterly fantastic little game.

"Best Buy, how can I help you?"
"I'd like to know if you have any copies of Half-Life 2: Orange Box in stock."
"The what?"
"Orange Box."
"I've never heard of that."
"Ok, here is the web ID."
"The what?"
"The Web ID from your website."
"oh, ok."
*checks his computer*
"Ok, we have 50 on order and we'll be getting it next Thursday."
Wtf.
I also called TRU, and FS and they all said earliest Friday.
EB is getting like 5 copies for their pre-orders.
Son of a bitch.

Is the Half Life experience of Orange Box seamless?
AKA: Once you've finished HL2 the game, does the game just then automatically switch to EP1?
It's not a particularly big deal, but would make me feel happy!
Gizmo_Monkey said:can anyone confirm what framerate this is?
60fps or 30fps?
Yeah, when someone talks about loading in regards to the PC you have to be specific as to how long those PC loadtimes were. Thanks to both patches and newer hardware, the PC version loads very quickly, but when it was first released in 2004, most people encountered severe loadtimes (from 30 seconds to 2 minutes) and lots of stuttering. If the 360 only requires 10-15 seconds, that's pretty decent. Certainly not what I had hoped for, but not too bad.plagiarize said:when i played HL2 on PC when it first came out, i faced 30 - 60 second load times, so this'll be refreshing for me if anything.

Rur0ni said:I say again, the android chick you play as is hawt. You are an android right? You got little springy things on your legs lol.
So the 360 version supports kb/m and 60fps? How is it perfect unless it supports that? It's not bad, it's just not as good ffs.Brakara said:Well, they called the transition from PC to 360 "perfect".

Blame IGN then.Vrolokus said:Indeed. Barnolde running wild with info that's wrong (but on the bright side, paints the 360 in a negative light) isn't shocking. Now we just have to get dfyb in here.
Made sense after I thought more about it. Thanks for confirming.epmode said:You're definitely a human. The android comments are jokes. Those springy things on your legs were added by Valve as an explanation for why your character can survive falls that would surely kill Gordan Freeman.
