The Game Awards 2015 Thread: Keighley's Last Supper

Someone stole all of Life is Strange awards, we got a picture of the suspect

Show was pretty okay. Psychonauts 2 was the best thing about it in terms of reveals and that being a crowdfunder is a biiiit of a let down.

The Iwata memorial was beautiful.

Ambivalent towards the awards themselves but I'm happy that Splatoon won best Multi.

I actually liked Deadmau5's performance. Neat SMW mix and neat Metroid mix at the end.

So he's spinning without headphones.

As a DJ and producer, I can say with confidence that he's probably not doing anything. If he is, it's next to nothing.

Not uncommon for these types of events though. Can't hate on him.

as a dj and producer i can say with confidence that you don't need headphones to mix tracks. it helps, but if you have a set play list and know the music you are mixing it isn't a necessity

Keighley stated that NX won't be making an appearance at the show - hardly a shock, seeing as Nintendo has stated that it won't be releasing any more info until next year - but there will be "new" stuff from Nintendo. That could mean anything from fresh footage of an upcoming game to an entirely fresh release.

ahahahahahahahahahaha

Even without great world premieres, this show was enjoyable and one of the best game award shows. And seeing how I got top post of the page, here's the summary:

Cool, was looking for this post.

Not a ton I cared about. Biggest shocker was Psychonauts 2, but kind of a dampener because an announcement for crowdfunding.

A lot of things we already knew about too and just reconfirmation. Kind of a bummer.

It was certainly an award show when it comes to awards and music performances.

Great show, overall. These past two years have truly been phenomenal, even more so if you've been following the predecessors. There's obviously always room for improvement, but I'd like to take a moment to thank Geoff and all those involved who helped make this show happen. Whether you agree with the nominees / winners or not, events like this help give the industry the artistic legitimacy it deserves, even if it is a difficult process.

Is there a video of the GOTY award? Internet cut out so I missed everything after Best Character but come back to the same tweet being quoted over and over.

this is like that episode of the office where michael promises a big surprise at the end of the day.

and dead mouse was the ice cream sandwiches

I'm bummed that they didn't do anything with Best Soundtrack/Score. That was the one I was most excited for.

Kinda think Ori should have won that category, but oh well.

They did. They had Stefanie Joosten sing Quiet's Theme from MGSV, which won best soundtrack.

The Game Awards, sponsored by, among many other brands, Xbox, presented at the Microsoft theater in LA.
Did you really expect a PlayStation first party exclusive to be awarded?

Hell, with the amount of Star Wars Battelfront shilling going on, I'm surprised they didn't give that game at least 3 awards.

Goes without saying, though, it was worth watching for all the middle fingers pointed at Konami. #FuckKonami
Did this post go from positing a conspiracy to debunking the very same conspiracy theory?

Brother, I like your style.

Great show Keighly. Really have a lot of plates to juggle putting these things together and that's about as well as it can possibly be done.
Well that was a thing that happened, you guys need to embrace the cringe though, it's part of the fun lol
Nothing tops the overreaction cringe. Fans can get pretty crazy when the obvious favorite doesn't win. It's great.

That was a much better show than last year. The ending was a little weak, but Geoff basically saying "fuck Konami" right to the camera, and the Iwata tribute really made this stand out for me.

Good job Geoff.

All things considered, it wasn't bad as an actual awards show, but those announcements were fairly weak.

Especially after Nintendo gave a glimpse of Zelda last year.

I'm usually really forgiving of the awards each year since they at least have always had some really good announcements but this year they had zero. All the world premieres were things we had already saw.

It was a pretty big disappointed and was bored as fuck all throughout it.

This was a hilarious shitshow, though Physchonauts and Batman were neat and the Iwata tribute was touching.

There's always next year, I suppose.

I had to put witcher 3 down due to boredom and witcher sense being cheesy as heck. Which was used to much in the boring side quests. Color coded kill this quests.

Though I guess something had to be goty. 2015 isn't a great year in regards to goty though.
