I knew it's not from his own mind, too clever.

Seriously Brad, you can be so paranoid about these things.

You've never worked in an office before, have you? It's six people by the way, and we all work way more than 40 hours a week.

I really need to stop being bothered by this sort of thing.

Hey Brad, sorry. I didn't mean to question your work ethic.
Of course you shouldn't let comments like mine get to you.

I guess I just feel like that time could be spent creating more video content.
I do genuinely like you guys and I enjoy most of what you put out. I just want more.

For example, Jeff used to do videos of old games on Xbox Arcade, yet when that went
bust he didn't continue with games available on other services.

It would have made sense to continue looking at older games on the Wii virtual console,
and eventually move up to PS1 games on PSN. Sure the games are more expensive
but I'm guessing you guys can write that off.

Well, we're certainly interested in what you guys think and I'd personally like to have more of a dialogue about things, but it's rare to come here without seeing some kind of irrational outburst maligning our intelligence or work ethic or GAMER CRED, which I obviously don't respond to well. The only solution, as you say, is probably to visit the forum less. :\

Please ignore them, I can say with certainty you're my favorite Quick Looker especially when comboed with Vinny. Your calm demeanor and Vinny's off the wallness is just awesome to me. You have to remember in any medium in which you're at the forefront in terms of exposure you're going to have that group that is irrational.

Hell you and Vinny paired with anyone is hilarious to me.

Brad is top 6 in the Giantbomb office, easy.

Maybe even top 5.

don't get back back on that ledge

Thanks for talking me off the ledge, I let some of the RE6 fallout get to me a bit.

To be honest I'm a pretty big RE fan and I felt the exact same sentiments that you did toward RE6. Some people don't like criticisms toward their favorite games/series. I'm definitely guilty of it.

Don't let them get to ya, keep on keepin on (I seriously hate this saying, but it fits).

The mistake I make is always assuming the intensely negative posts represent the majority opinion rather than being the outliers they most likely are, which probably says more about my neuroses than the level of discourse around here.

It actually makes me feel good to hear you say something like this, though. In a way a post like this is a very good thing, because after a while one gets the impression that they can just say anything just because you guys don't seem to react to it. Sometimes it helps to be reminded that you guys are actually people with vulnerabilities, as weird as that can sound. I understand the need to put up walls, but sometimes those walls are so thick that nothing at all gets through on either side. You transform in to a caricature.

It also helps belay my own guilt a little bit; I write for a (much smaller) videogame website and I feel like I have to take a very reserved position with our reader base sometimes and put up those same walls, but I find that to be super hard to do.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge, I let some of the RE6 fallout get to me a bit too much.

As someone who loves RE 4 and 5, I rented RE 6 and started playing it and thinking "I don't know about Brad's review, this doesn't seem too bad." Then I got to the last chapter of Leon's campaign. I am so sorry I ever doubted you Brad.

RE 6 spoiler:
Seriously, how the fuck is anyone supposed to figure out that last boss without getting extremely lucky? They tell you to shoot the legs, so you shoot the legs, and unless there are NO other zombies around he won't eat the one with the lighting rod stuck in him. Also the fact that you fight that fucking guy in like 5 different forms. FUCK.

And it seemed that most of that hate came from people before they even played it. Even if people are dumb, you could point to like every other review for vindication.

Even simpler is he could just remind the irrational nutcases that at the end of the day a review is nothing more than an opinion that they don't have to share.

Somehow I don't think that would really help. I clearly don't agree with them on Nights, for example, but that doesn't mean I'm less of a fan of their work. There's a sizeable portion of people in any online community that, if you disagree with them, will say you're history's greatest monster. The only thing you can do is ignore them. If they responded to such a reasonable point they wouldn't be irrational nutcases, after all.

Gotta ignore that shit. Be aware that many of the meanderings you're reading are from people who lack the basic social skills to not be total dickheads on a forum. If you enjoy reading GAF don't let those people put you off.

I figured it out after he ate the first one. And he will almost ALWAYS eat the dude with the lightning rod stuck through him. I never bothered to clear the zombies out and he invariably grabbed the lightning rod dude. Maybe I just got lucky, I don't know, but I had to do it over twice and it ran like that for me through all my attempts.

No joke, the first 4 times I did the fight he would NEVER eat the guy on the rod, it wasn't until I looked at a FAQ that I even knew what I was attempting to do and even then I had to make sure to clear out every zombie that was even remotely by him. I don't know if the scripting broke on me or what, but it was easily the most frustrating thing I have played in a while.

I'm still barracking for a Dark Souls ER

Better yet, they should combine Breaking Brad and the Endurance Run for this game. I would love to hear some of the unique new curse phrases that Brad will invent with this game ( check the last Doom 2 BB for examples) and IIRC from the original Quick Look, Brad said he was interested but just didn't have the time to invest into it, which is the same reason the first ER began. (Anyways, if an ER of this game were theoretically to happen, Brad would have to do it basically by default. Vinny beat it, Ryan has already played it on camera and loathes ERs, and Jeff got lost in the first half hour and thinks the game controls "bad," so he would be out too. Patrick could do it but he will be running his horror game thing so I doubt he would run that and the ER too. Pat would be a great wingman though...)

The whole game is on YouTube hundreds of times over by now, so it isn't like they would be unfairly spoiling things or eating into sales of the game at this point.

I know that they said that Breaking Brad would tend to be for smaller challenges, beating Dark Souls is a pretty monolithic achievement without peer in gaming, so it isn't like there would be an expectation to top it with the next BB. The premise also brings with it a high probability of more Vinny and Brad Muir on tape, which can only be a good thing. And because it would be a Breaking Brad, they could better justify it as premium content where all the other ERs have been free.

I kinda feel bad writing this out because they tend to not take ideas for segments whole cloth from the community, so I realize I might be lessening the chance of a great idea coming to fruition by writing this. Oh well, I guess I just like solutions that take out several birds with one stone, especially ones that would be as entertaining as this could be.

people really whining about 30 second ads to watch 30+ minute videos? Are you not willing to give up anything for the content being given to you for free? Fuckin' entitlement.

goddamnit, i actually have to click my mouse to get a video to play? fuckin' site should just know what i want to play so i don't have to move my hands.

At least with youtube you can skip most of the long form ads from what I remember.

I don't mind ads (though it's mostly because I'm a subscriber), but ads that gate content like video ad intros? Eeeeeh, not a huge fan of that.

I've been premium since the start, but when you're getting decent length content afterwards I have little issue with long ads before videos. It's a lot better than ads interrupting your content and front loading the ad ensures the ad is seen. Despite this I think anything over 30 seconds is too long for an internet ad, but at least the fad of 'making you click' on an ad to progress it seems to have gone by the wayside

This isn't quite as good, but you can at least go here to tell GOG that you'd totally give them money for SimGolf.

Oh good, now I have an avenue to get someone to make a copy of Steven Spielberg's Director's Chair that works on a modern system.

Don't you want to make a movie in which you can write a script where a 1996 Jennifer Aniston avoids the clutches of criminal magicians Penn & Teller and abandons Quentin Tarantino in death row to live on a tropical island.

You should!

Brad getting back into Diamond league would be a possibility for a more long term goal for Breaking Brad. Maybe whenever Heart of the Swarm rolls around he'll get the SC itch again.

Getting stomped in ultra-competitive multiplayer games like SF or SC is the ultimate in frustration.

On GiantBomb DOT Com, they did a vote on the forum for their favorite quicklooks, and it is an excellent list. It needs to be updated, though.

Thanks for the link. There are a couple I haven't watched already.

Watching Super Scribblenauts QL for the first time now. Yup, it's hilarious.

Game: "Kick off the beach party".
Vinny, in a heartbeat: "Alriiiight, take off your pants"
