Because of Bieber or because of the Leafs?

Aliens certainly doesn't look like a masterpiece but.. why do people hate this game? doesn't look half bad from what I cal tell, gameplay looks pretty generic but they seem to have nailed the Aliens part of it.

Whenever I see that game I think of all the scenes in Aliens where people shoot aliens and then get their faces melted off from the acid blood. The fact that you can't shoot the aliens at close range is one of the most important plotpoints in that whole series, but it seems like alien blood is nothing more than COD-style strawberry jam in that game.

Rebellion's game was much better about this. If you use the shotgun at close range in that the acid splash will almost certainly kill you.

Listening to an old podcast (the Vinny c-bomb episode) and hear the guys get excited in anticipation of doing a QL for Stop Stress: A Day of Fury only to discover they never actually did a QL of it. What a bummer, put it on an upcoming Unprofessional Fridays!

what the fuck

Didn't he go to the Black Ops 2 review event (as well as previous CoD review meetings)? Why is Jeff disgusted at EA tying pre-release reviews to attendance, but is happy to play ball with Activision?

If anyone's interested in a look at Crysis 3 from a GiantBomb perspective, former Whiskey Media employee Matthew Rorie wrote a comprehensive review of the game for GameSpy: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/crysis-3/1227439p1.html?utm_campaign=twposts&utm_source=twitter

I'm not sure about the particular situation you are talking about, however a review event is different than a multiplayer preview event.

Yes, a review event is objectively worse. But in both cases, pre-release review copies are bound to physical presence by at least one editor.

In my ideal dream world, no one would care about pre-release coverage: Then games media could truly speak their minds without any fear of PR firm sanctions. But this isn't the case with GiantBomb, and I don't see how this attempt by EA to force event coverage is especially disgusting.

ugh, this new video player is a complete disaster for me. it's choppy as hell and frequently blurry. might need to go back to youtube. :(
