And when I say "greatest," I actually mean lamest. :lol

(Better scans available here.)

Yes folks, they're all back! Big Bertha, the rich supermodel whose powers allow her to increase her body's weight at will! Doorman, with the uncanny ability to create doors by standing next to any wall! Dinah Soar, whose pink wings and sonic powers make her an incredible aerial force for justice! Squirrel Girl, plucky heroine blessed with the proportional strength, speed, and agility of a squirrel! Flatman, whose body is really, uh... flat... and stretchy! Grasshopper, whom I know absolutely nothing about! And their leader, Mr. Immortal, who simply refuses to stay dead -- no matter how many times and ways you kill him! They are...

The GREAT LAKES AVENGERS! :lol

(Can't believe I'm actually saying this, but... I'm on board. I needs my Dan Slott fix during She-Hulk's hiatus.)

What do you mean, can't believe? This sounded awesome from the first I heard of it. And when I found out he was bringing back Squirrel Girl...

Of course, I have a distinct fondness for seeing obscure/third-rate characters used in clever ways (like the Prez and Element Girl issues of Sandman, or, of course, She-Hulk), so this appeals a lot to me.

The GReat Lakes Avengers first appeared in West Coast Avengers, around issue 46 or so. It was around the time Hawkeye wasn't part of the team, and they appeared and he thought about being their leader. They've since appeared in the old Deadpool series and probably somewhere else I can't remember.

The original Avengers are headquartered on the East Coast, in New York City. To handle threats that pop up on the Pacific side of America, they once opened up a West Coast branch. So who's watching the middle? The Great Lakes Avengers, that's who!

But now with the Avengers officially Disassembled, it's up to the Great Lakes Avengers -- ill-equipped as they are -- to finally step into the spotlight and save the day! Even if it kills them...
