From the novel of chivalry: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Sire Gauvain, knight of the round table of King Arthur, of whom he is also the nephew, accepts the challenge launched by a mysterious Green Knight. He must behead him. Gauvain complies.
The Green Knight leaves with his head under his arm and reminds him that, in a year, they will have to meet again ...

With Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Erin Kellyman

I freakin can't wait !!

This reminds me of Sword of The Valiant. I don't think it is coincidence. I'm in, though.
Also, time for the search engine to do what it was created to do.

I love the cinematography and style. I also like how the hero is an ordinary dude and not inflated with gym muscles and eating chicken breast.

Why do they keep making trailers that show most of the plot?
I was interested at first, but then lost it as they showed me the protagonist will presumably reach the final boss.
I think I'll stick to teasers, reveals, and non-specific info, from now on.

Doing well with critics, for what that's worth...

David Lowery is legit, this looks incredible, I can't wait to go this weekend and I hope it makes some money.

A24 continue to fight the good fight against the dismal tide of the industry...

I have my ticket for Thursday night. First movie I'll be seeing in theaters since before the pandemic.

Movies like Hereditary and The Witch are what drew me to A24, so I'm hoping there's a tinge of that creepiness here. Really looking forward to it.

I want to watch Ghost Story but I'm not in the mood for a emotional, potentially depressing film. Should I wait?

I'm guessing it's safe to assume it's not really scary or anything like that?

I wish I could see what you guys love about this trailer, but I just don't. Is this a beloved book series that's coming to cinema for the first time or something?
I’m watching the trailers with one eye shut, because I want to be surprised. For me, I just have a lot of faith in this studio. They keep putting out films that chill me to the bone or have me feeling some strange way, so that’s what I’m sort of banking on.

I was really hoping this would turn out well.

Good reviews, R rating, and Alicia Vikander... yeah I'm in for 10.

Not to be condescending... but it's one of the oldest known written stories. It's essentially an epic in the vein of the Song of Roland, or Beowulf.

Epic tale + good actors + good studio = hype.

Incredible flick, but not for everybody. Not scary at all either. Just a meditation on the meaning of life and passage of time. Watch it.

I enjoyed it, very creepy visuals. Kinda like The Witch. Not a huge film buff kinda person mostly prefer marvel/Star Wars stuff but I liked it.

Bad experience :(

Couldn’t see anything. First they left upper lights on for 25 minutes, but even after, the screen was so dim, I could hardly see the actor’s faces in the (many) dark scenes.

I was in the back row but the theater was small. No way my eyes have gotten that bad, right?

I even asked them to turn up the brightness but i don’t think they did. Thing is, there were 10 other people and I don’t think anyone else complained.

I feel like everything should be very clear though so I’m thinking something was wrong. Hard to give them benefit of the doubt when lights were on so long.

idk, I’m kind of mad but it’s possible my eyes have just gone to crap I guess. Couldn’t hear well either. Maybe I’m dying.

AJUMP23

Parody of actual AJUMP23
I’m not the only one then. The movie is too dark. Especially in interior scenes. I don’t know if it was the settings on projector or just the movie itself. Someone needs to do a brightness pass on this film.

overall the film was good. I enjoyed the story.

I'm afraid this is going to be too art housey with not a lot of plot points being hit and full of shots that linger forever. Hope I'm wrong and it's balanced.

Budget - 15 million
First weekend box office - 6.7 million

It's a shame it won't make much money, if any. No way to watch it in Sydney for me, still in lockdown.
