I was second at my local game store. The only thing I don't have paid for now are the 3 extra wireless controllers, Wireless G adapter, and charge kit. That's only because they won't put it in the system with a 990000 SKU. They do it for my games though. I'm north of $2000 though

Well, I've alloted for this well. Normally, I buy myself stupid shit all year, and then there's my money out of the window. I've only treated myself to one big luxury this year, that is my Alienware laptop. Other than that, it's just been games. I'm simple. I go to work, I come home. Hang out with the family till my twin girls go to bed, then play Tetris Worlds, Dr. Mario HSGF, or Monopoly 3 across the LAN with the wife. Then I play my games, and she scours the internet, cursing EA for not have Sims: Nightlife out yet.

are any stores taking preorders on accessories? i work at gamestop, and i wanted to reserve a VGA cable just to make sure i get one, but boss says no can do.

oh well, i'll probably be working launch anyway

That's the other thing. I'll willingly acknowledge that with leisure money, I'm not the best at holding on to it. So, that is why I use Gamestop like a deposit bank of sorts. $50 here, $50 there. I've been following that protocol for 5 years, it's worked so I stay with it.

Seconded. I seriously cannot fathom the appeal of buying a shitload of games at one time. GAFFers would find it a lot harder to become so jaded if they just stuck to buying games one at a time, and playing them to finishing before thinking about grabbing another.

Plus there is the fact that the majority of the launch lineup, as with any console launch, will be at best passable.
