Gonna get my iPhone later tonight (it's an iPhone 4), will read up on the recommended iOS games thread, but in the meantime could someone post what are good free iOS games available atm?
Also are there any good Point n' Click games on iOS, like Monkey Island or such?

A whole lot of great point 'n click on iOS:

Monkey Island, Hector, Puzzle Agent, The Walking Dead, Broken Sword, Machinarium to name a few.

Oh wow didn't know some of those were on iOS, will def. get those thanks!
Looking forward to Phoenix Wright trilogy too =3

I assume it was through hacking since everyone in the top spots are at exactly 30,000. Or does the game just end/crashes at 30k?

I think 30k is just the limit for leaderboards. Wether people got there by hacking or not is another story. You'd have to get pretty lucky and keep getting vehicles within a few seconds of crashing the prior ones to make it manageable. I think you can only receive one second chance unless it resets after so many meters.

I started playing the Avengers Initiative game. It's....ok. IT's like they took the mechanics of IB but didn't put any of the polish to it. Hulk's model looks great-but the background textures are very bland.

Hulk should be destroying lots of shit -- that's what makes him fun to play as a character. And the IB thing has been done to death at this point. Heck, I know the open-world-ish Spider-man and Batman games just came out, but really, that concept could have been great for The Hulk. Make some destructible buildings, cars, and all that, some grab mechanics -- just a mobile destruction fest. Missed opportunity.

It's brain dead stupid to make a Hulk game. Destruction derby. You get points based off how much money's worth of destruction you do in a certain time frame. You give certain obstacles and puny humans to smack around.

BEST iOS GAME THANKS

OK so I found Monkey Island 1 and 2, but what's the Lite supposed to mean on them? I can get if they were err 'downgraded' to work on an iPhone, but that Lite is worrying me.

Lite is general speak for "free demo version" on the app store. The ones that don't say Lite are the full game.

I just saw that this comes out in the next couple of weeks. Are there any previews out that touch on the reliability of the controls? $9.99 seems like a steal if it's any good.

Any decent Game magazines on the iPad worth getting?

Seemed to remember last month a new iPad gaming specific one launching a couple of months back but cannot for the life of me remember what it's called.

Only just bought an iPad 3 so may very well be asking a few questions over the next few days on recommendations and tricks/tips for it.

The digital version of EDGE is phenomenal

Mario - you won. My wife saw a Twang the Fox ad in Monster Swap and bought it. I was trying to hold out long enough to get all of your games for free from this thread :P

Great to know she snuck in a purchase on you ;)

As compensation, we have a free "downloadable" Monster Flip related surprise coming next week to get you some more value for nothing.

Are the Same & Max episodes worth it? Are they point and click adventures?

Never played them....

I played the first episode of Ice Station Santa and thought it was terrible. The writing, the jokes and the performances are all top notch, but the game itself is so poorly ported to the iPad. You use a virtual joystick to move Sam around and an awkward virtual wheel to scroll through hotspots in a scene. No thought was put into translating the minigames to a touch screen, so they're all unplayable. Completely put me off Telltale games on iOS.

Playing Hexagon. I go

this is shit >>> oh I get it now >>> no wait this is too hard, wtf >>> ooh, ok ok I'm getting it >>> no, this is shit >>> oh my god that was awesome!! woooo >>> ah man this this shit again

rinse repeat

Please do excuse me asking this but could someone link to the iPhone thread in Off-topic if there is one?
Also, what good JRPG games are on iOS BTW?
Ah and what's the release date for Migh and Magic Clash of heroes?

Anyone here played Dragon Island Blue? It seems to be getting good reviews.

Heard good things, tried it, deleted it. It might have the 'old school' charm if by 'old school' you mean done by somebody at school and the school isn't particularly up on modern technology or game design.

I ended up buying the game since it was a launch sale. Will try later.

Anyway, I was wondering, how many people are there in the leaderboards of the iPhone version of TWEWY? There's 10k on the iPad one, which I guess isn't too bad? Do people who pirate the games have access to Gamecenter?

Just FYI, according to Jordan Merchner, The Last Express port to iOS is nearly done.

IMHO the best adventure ever made, unfortunately no one played it back in the days except me.

you guys should keep a watch on this game

Behind their adorable appearance, the Norns are greatly complex and very realistic creatures: they have a real neural system, a genetic heritage they transmit to their descendants, and are comprised of over 150 realistically-simulated chemical elements.

If you just want to raise adorable balls of fur, or if you are fascinated by the "life simulation" aspect of the series, the Norns are for you!

The more nostalgically-inclined will be delighted to find in Creatures 4 the babbling that made the Norns famous.

Yeah! People don't talk about the first Creatures for PC enough. That was a really fascinating "game". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creatures_(artificial_life_program)

definitely it's a game that was complicated for some people to understand but the people who took their time with it got some pretty outstanding results and this one is looking pretty good, I give credit to fishing cactus this is the only game of it's kind so working on it must be insanely hard.

I do not know if this is the appropriate place to say this....but if you like Pocket Heroes idea and like playing a CO OP turn based async RPG, check this website.

www.playconclave.com

Yes it's a browser game but it's incredibly well done and plays wonderfully from iPad (iPhone too, just tiny).
I just discovered it and already had ton of fun today playing with some friends, hopping in and out of quests.
They have a kickstarter that I have yet to check, but so far it seems pretty well done and complete.
If it wasn't for the Safari bar, you wouldn't tell.

EDIT: Played more with a 4 player active party...wow, it's really great. Feels almost native on iPad.
