Everyone should check out Air Mail while its on sale for 0.99 cents

Hey guys, Alien Breed doesn't work with the iCade for me - any tips to getting it going??

Edit: hmm, Metal Slug 3 doesn't work either, but all my old games like Gunman Clive, AirAttack and iMame still work perfect. Weird.

Edit: okay I can get Metal Slug working by starting the game, pressing home to go to desktop and then going back into the game, I found that tip on TA.

I still can't get Alien Breed to work with the iCade though. :(

Does it still have an inability to adjust volume or mute sounds? Nothing more frustrating than listening to music over headphones and not being able to mute sounds as you need. ARGH.

Will not redownload it until that's been fixed.

Also, is no-one else having problems with app store updates?!?

i dont know why developers keep insisting on putting iron-sights in ios fps games. doesn't make sense adding an extra useless button for something you can accomodate with general balancing.

I dunno, iron sights is a useless option in something like Dead Trigger where the combat is up-close and doesn't require accuracy, but the way it snaps-to-target in Modern Combat and NOVA works really well imo.

FUCK. No string error in puzzle craft. Is that fixable with the next update or is my save lost forever? Fuck.

Yeah I agree. The snap to target iron sights on nova 3 help keep the gameplay flowing

I really hate where the earphones and charger plug in on iPhone sometimes. Makes action games really uncomfortable to play as I can't possition my hand properly.

Ho hum. It's what you get on a system not centred around gaming I guess. If they moved them it would make using it as an iPod worse.

Really hope ps mobile brings most the decent iOS games to vita. Would love that.

By the way, let me brag a bit with this achievement before it gets too common. Can't wait to reach for the stars with the following 400+, 600+ and 850+ ones (is such a thing even possible).

Would be cool if there was a way to challenge GC friends directly.

I have no idea how people get over 300. That seems kinda high

Zookeeper Battle is addicting as hell, I LOVE IT.
I kind of wish it had more... I don't know, animal customization options and things like that though.

Just getting into iPad gaming and looking for some good suggestions: Anything along the lines of Animal Crossing, Risk Factions, or Advance Wars that I should check out?

For Animal Crossing, check out Happy Street (not sure if it is universal, meaning natively playable on both iPad and iPhone).

As far as strategy gaming, try Hero Academy, Summoner Wars, Outwitters, Great Big War Game and maybe Total War Battles (RTS). Also check out the website Pocket Tactics for other strategy-related iPad releases. EDIT: And absolutely check out Ravenmark, which is a really polished SRPG (a little more Fire Emblem than Advance Wars).

Woah... I'm really liking Zookeeper Battle... too bad you run out of games and have to pay money to play more. I guess they charge back after a bit?

Only takes 6 minutes for a game to charge. It's not a huge issue imo unless you really want to play it for hours

Just checkout both Happy Street and Ravenmark. downloading both now! Thanks for the tips. :)

I can't believe how addictive 10000000 is :S

Damn you iPad, I want to play NSMB2, let me gooooooo!

EDIT: Also thinking about getting Puzzle Craft, but the No String error is making me think twice...

The perils of a non-tactile touch display:

Just suffered some awkward iPad and finger slippage, and accidentally spent 6 flooz (needlessly) expanding the mountain in Happy Street. Will probably set back my street expansion plans a whole two days! Gutted. Pepin's offers of precious flooz for various bits and pieces seem to be drying up a little, too.

So I just picked up an ipad 2 to go along with a new job that involves international travel. Are there any games with 10+ hrs of regular game play and good stories? I guess I'm looking for rpg-lite or rts games that are entertaining when stock in coach on a long flight. I see there is a few Final Fantasy games but I'm looking for a more modern less grinding experience.

I got way more than 10 hours out of Infinity Blade 2, but it is certainly grindy.

I'm right there with you. Hunters 2 saved my sanity on a 12 hour flight. Perfect TBS game.

Myst is good if you havent played it yet.
I've been playing GeoDefense lately and it plays good on my iPad 1

I nearly chucked my phone across the room when I lost my 9 game streak in Zookeeper Battle thanks to my dad phoning me during a game. God damn this game is good.

League of Evil was like heroïn for me so I guess Mickey Shorts should be in my library.. ?
If you only into gameplay. I would say yes. Mickey Shorts have far bigger levels (most last for one min) compare to LoE, but I think it has fewer number of levels.
The style of course both are difference for example LoE "pixel art" and Mickey Shorts "Flash art".

[edit]
I'm playing Mickey Shorts... It don't kill you whereas LoE everything kill you, it is a time trail gameplay. Of course it is far more easier than LoE.

I feel pretty bad when I beat someone who's on a decent streak :lol

My own max is only seven, though. I'm on 52 wins and 48 losses after 100 games, so pretty average at it I'd say!

I really can't think of a more perfect iOS game than this. It's ridiculously good. I don't even think I'll care that much when the recharge time goes to 30 minutes from 6, because it'll just mean I can finally leave the game alone for a decent period of time and get something done! It's killing my battery as well

Probably not going to happen but I'd love it if after the recharge time goes up to 30 they got an IAP there to permanently reduce it. Going up from 6 to 30 minutes will be pretty crazy and only being able to play 2 matches per hour will probably make me drop the game as much as I'm loving it right now (dem losing streaks will feel even worse). I don't see myself spending money on the consumable power bottles since each of them only fill enough for 6 matches.

Wish I could pay a few dollars to unlock unlimited Zookeeper Battle. Hate the recharge mechanic.

Yeah, I hope they patch an option in to actually buy the game at one point.
Don't really care how much they charge either.

I fell in love with Zookeeper when I got it alongside my Japanese DS on launch. :)
Still one of my favourite DS games till this day.

Yeah, paying to remove the recharging altogether would be even better but I honestly don't see it happening since the way the game makes money is by boost items and power bottles, and the current items are pretty much useless imo. Also, consumable and 1.99 for 5 of each, lol.

You guys are fantastic. Thank you good sir.
Another good GAF poster making me save money! :)
Zookeeper Battle is free with all features available though, what do you mean? The recharge as of now is a non-issue because most matches last almost exactly the time it takes to recharge, and it recharges while you're playing.

Oh don't misunderstand this comment as a dig against the game.
It's free and as Fuu already said, you can pretty much keep playing the game and hour without needing to let it recharge.
And recharge time seems to be just about right as well.

The only reason I'm also asking for a way around it is for peace of mind, so that I know I could play marathon sessions without needing a bathroom break once in a while. ;)

Deleted Puzzle Craft

It just wasn't going anywhere. It was the same mini-game over and over. It wasn't getting harder, and just seemed to be adding things (like apples, cows and diamonds) to push me into getting new buildings.

I felt like I was stuck in this constant cycle of farming and mining until I unlocked the next cool building.

And there were no pressures. It was almost impossible to run out of money, and even if I did I'd be able to wait 2 hours and get some more. There's no strategy in placing your buildings, and there's no decisions about which buildings to buy and which to neglect. You just buy them all.

This is very much a freemium game made premium, but while the gold balance was tweaked to justify its 69p price tag, the mind-numbing, repetitive monotony was sadly left intact.

I agree with everything you said, I deleted because of the "no string" glitch. But all in all I defiantly got my .99 worth out of the game,
