anything close to itadaki street on iOS (other than the EA Monopoly)? Did that Android version ever come out?
Jetpack Joyride wasn't free when it came out. This may be a obvious post but yeah paid games are just plain out better than the free crap out there on iOS.
There are exceptions though like Jetpack Joyride, Hero Academy, and afew others.
Just finished League of Evil. What an absolutely top notch platformer. By far the best I've played on ios. Just started the second one now and liking it even more. So good.

Anyone else playing Fancy Pants Adventures? It's suprisingly great with touch controls. Really solid little platformer with buttery-smooth animation and overall momentum. I wasn't crazy about the doodle-y art style on the original PC/console version, but on a small retina display it works quite well.
Check out the lite version to give it a test drive.

is it a port of the xbla version or the flash one? The file size is pretty damn big =/
Man these look so cool! I didn't even know they had newer games out not yet on iOS. I want Astro Story and Dungeon Village badly now =(Just started playing Dungeon Village and...wow. Between this and Epic Astro Story, Kairosoft really is on a new level. I wish they'd hurry up and port them to iOS or at least explain how their staggered release schedule works.
I think i might delete the Simpsons game while i can. I don't like games that involves carrot on a stick. Can't how this is any diffrent to all those Facebook games.
That Mass Effect game looks beastly, any idea how much?

It was free a while ago I think. Played it on my brother in law's iPad2. It's both solid and crappy in various ways. I didn't reach a boss fight. It reminded me of Onslaught on WiiWare but not as good with the small levels and constant enemy respawns all over the place. The controls were decent, I don't like twin virtual sticks but it was workable with a somewhat slow and steady pace.Anybody tried Star Warfare yet? Are the boss fights kind of like Monster Hunter style?
I just put up some fairly detailed hands-on impressions of Mass Effect Infiltrator. It's an exclusive:

I'm aware of an issue with the screenshot gallery. Looking into it now.
Edit: I believe the screenshots should now work.
I loved the first but surprisingly am loving the 2nd one even more! So smooth! I'm on the last level now and its easily better than the 1st.
Ok, I'm kinda stuck in Waking Mars, 6 hours in.
I've researched everything and 5 star every area, except the one on the bottom that are too dry to raise the biomass. Where can I find more clues about the sentient life and the reason the bottom areas are so dry? These are my current objectives right now.
Does anybody know how much bandwith DropBOX gives you?
I'd like to use it to upload the img of the challenges, seems pretty straightforward to do but I dunno if it would be able to endure a GAF thread. With last year's threads I had my photobucket account killed pretty much on day3 of the first thread and iirc photobucket gives you 1GB free a month, so I started to use AbLoad.de (which was terrible as far as my experience went using it thru my iPAD, but at least my uploads would stick and not give me the "looks who's popular/golden frog/etc) but now it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Dropbox free has a 10GB/day bandwidth limit in the public folder. For web-optimized pictures I think you'll be fine. Though their system scans for excessive usage and might flag suspect folders for deactivation if usage is kept at a relatively high level for a longer duration. If that were to happen one can contact their support and have it reverted.
Another picture hosting option is to use Facebook. Make a GAF challenges account or similar and use public photos and just link those, then you'll have unlimited bandwidth to play with.Come to think of it you could in that instance even make a challenges profile site with historical information on past challenges etc. etc. in a Timeline and all that fancy next-gen challenge jazz. If public, people don't actually need a Facebook account to view it.
Thanks for all the info, that's great mate!
10GB a day seems super plenty, after all it'll be 15 (or less) pics in a week, each weighting less than 300kb,, per challenge.
I don't use FB and I don't think you can directly the pics but your only option is to link to them?
Infos on past challenges is done fo (ie Hall of Fame) and it'll be in the 2nd post of this thread with a link to the new challenge's thread each time.
Trying my dropbox account now, can you guys see this tiny pic:

Can see it, and you can public Facebook photos no problem. In any case Dropbox should work fine for the intents and purposes of the challenges.[/QUOTE]
Lovely. Good to know that we'll be able to resort to FB in case Dropbox fails us :)
Haven't ever played a Kairo game, but that Dungeon Village looks interesting. Can their games be played through all in single player or do they force you to make alliances with other players ala something like Castleville (FB game)?
Anyone else having problem with The Simpsons: Tapped Out?
I haven't been able to login for the last 8-9 hours or so.
Just finished Waking Mars, clocking 7:30 hours, completing everything (I think).
The ending is disappointing, but the game was great. Like I said before, a very elegant, polished and atmospheric experience with great controls and an intriguing story.
Buy this game people.
edit: hey, look at that, I'm number 1 at the total biomass score.![]()
You are?
Side note, I liked the endings, but I agree there could've been more.
Also, I don't get how people get 108% exploration on the leaderboard, I seem stuck at 104.7% (108% post-ending). At least I figured out all the achievements now.
heringer, did you find out what to do in? I'm curious if I missed something.the core with all the frozen things
Guess I'll have to go back and plant some more seeds!
Now that you mention,I didn't do anything with the frozen things in the core. Maybe that's why we're still stuck at 104%? Also, I'm missing the last achievement, could you shed me some light?
You're missingthe actual ending.Activate the other platform in the helm.
I think it's kind of a dumb that Galaxy on Fire 2 doesn't offer an in app upgrade to HD or something. I bought it last summer and then held off playing it because I thought, perhaps my fault, that the iPad 2 optimization was going to be an update not a separate version.
Congrats to Halfbrick for Fruit Ninja's success. A very big accomplishment.
It helps the game is very fun!
So, my Waking Mars was crashing, then I decided to upload the data to iCloud and deleted the game.
Turns out I can't restore the data of a specific app? I have to return the idevice to factory conditions to have the option of restoring my data? Why? Why does Apple has to make everything more complicated than it should be?
What should I do then?
