That looks pretty amazing.

Also got AC, FINALLY. Was pleasantly surprised to see it was free, will play the crap out of it if I like the mechanics, which i probably will.

It includes the Embers movie. So it's more a CCG + Free movie

I remember that you could more or less easily get enough credits to get new cards/boosters simply by playing, is that correct? One of the HUGE criteria for free CCG's for me.

I believe you can get everything by just playing, yes. The IAPs are once again incentive to just skip to the end for the lazy.

Is anyone here playing Draw Something? I'm playing with a bunch of my real life friends and having a blast with it.

Me. I just downloaded it today and have been playing with my cousin. It's fun!

(Also, woot pre-ordered my new iPad yesterday. Gonna have to sell my "classic")

Yeah Draw Something is pretty fun. Don't know if anyone remembers a few pages back I asked for a game to play with the girlfriend over wifi. This is it. NEEDS a competitive mode, though.

LOVE it! It's not very competitive, but it's often times hilarious.

I've got about 20 games going in Draw Something so far. Only problem I have with the game is if you play a lot, you start to see repeats of words in the past. They need to update with 1000 new words to draw to keep the variety going. Last night it was hilarious, a girl I know was having problems with her sketch because she was drunk. Drunken Draw Something is hilarious. Also, if you really want a challenge, only draw the medium and hard words for added difficulty.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. Like, how could they make it competitive? The person you are playing with could make it so you could never guess (not fun), someone could simply draw the letters to the answer (not fun). I agree though, if it was competitive, like scramble, I'd totally be hooked. Right now I am just playing the free version for some fun.

I remember playing a game like it online, and it gave like 10 points to the person who guessed the drawing first and 2 points to the person who was drawing it, to encourage proper drawing. Could work like that? You get rewarded for guessing right and also have intent to draw properly.

Finally got around to trying out Beat Hazard Ultra. Controls worked better than I though they would. And I wish other games had the moving virtual stick this does

I make it a point to always draw the hardest option. My picture of "Bieber" had most of the office in tears.

Why would you avoid games that are $8.99 or more? Sure, "fling-x,y,z" or "run/jump" games are often made by smaller dev teams on a smaller budget, but the more fully-featured games are going to cost more. If MS suddenly announced a wealth of $0.99 card games on XBLA, are you going to stop buying the other stuff? You often get what you pay for...
I don't know where my price cutoff actually is but when the price gets high the following factors start kicking in hard:
- usually no demo akin to XBLA
- deeply untrustworthy reviews both on the app store and here
- cross-platform scrutiny (what can I get on other platforms for that much)
- how soon to expect a price collapse

The App Store is not up to par with systems like XBM and Steam, and that creates purchase resistance (which I also have on PSN and why I completely avoid WiiWare). It also doesn't help that more expensive games tend to be larger-sized games, and the App Store has a lot of annoying resistance to buying apps for the purpose of downloading them later because I don't have the space (plus the whole dumping to the desktop thing).

What would it take to get Square Enix to release an Official Triple Triad app on iOS? I don't care if it would be some rip off price. We have all these crappy clones in the wild. Arena9 is good, except for the fact the in game brower has been broken for a year now.

Does Square hate money?

I also saw this. Called My, my Monsters!

So it looks like I might be jumping on to the iPad 3rd, despite having only owned my iPad 2 for five months. Is migrating all my stuff as easy as making an iTunes backup of the old one, then restoring that same backup to the new one? I have stuff spread across two accounts (US and JP) if that complicates things any.

I have codes!

I'm probably a little more excited about this than I should be, as a professional.

In case you missed Mario's post, Monster Flip is developed by Launching Pad Games, another Kiwi studio, and published under our PikPok label. It's just come out, and is our first title published but not developed in-house.

I have three codes to give away on a first come, first served basis.

edit: Doh...

So Miku Flick is out on the Japanese App Store, as expected. Unexpectedly, though, the title and description showed up in all English on my iPad, and English is listed as a supported language on the website. I wouldn't say this translates to the English UI being done, but it sure seems like they're a lot further along with the English version than I thought. Probably going to wait a bit and buy locally since that works out to be a lot cheaper for me, especially if it's just going to be the same app data worldwide.

Had my eye on this since it was shown.

I've often seen Japanese apps that say they have english support but actually don't so it probably is best to wait.

I was about to say, I don't need to tell my boss. He'll be along at some point soon to read it for himself :)

Did u send all the PMs already? Just wondering since I haven't got one and I'm pretty sure I won lol.

I did send you one, but for some reason it failed utterly. I've messaged you again with your code now.
