Is hunters 2 good?

I'd say so. It's a lot more robust than its predecessor in pretty much every way. Campaign mode, more levels, enemy types, weapons, hunters, the lot. You can make your own gear now and even the adverts/free gear mechanic is fleshed out to a "prize wheel/slots" type thing that can award anything from legendary items to bonus perks and credits.

I'm basing a lot of the above on you having some familiarity with Hunters: Ep 1 obviously. In general it feels like the most solid TBS "XCOM"-esque game out on the platform so far. As long as you don't expect XCOM itself (come on Firaxis!) I think there's quite a bit of value in this game.

You know what game I'd love to see on the iPad:

will Monster Flip get an iPad retina update, too?

The Launching Pad Games guys are looking into it. They have stuff like achievements and more puzzles they want to get out of the way first though.

That's so awesome. I'm not on Facebook so I'll miss out. :-( Wish you had a store set up to buy them.

The MAMC stuff will be available via our store soon (http://store.pikpok.com). Just sorting out the last of the legals to allow us to do that.

Guys I've got a technical question and this thread gets much more traffic than any other iPad thread. I've got an OG iPad with 3G. Bought it in Europe more than a year ago, but I've never tried the 3G. I'm selling it to this guy, but he wants to know if the 3G works here. (Costa Rica) Do I need to jailbreak this bitch or something? Or no need?

Oof. Hunger Games is really disappointing. I was pretty excited for this considering they were billing it being made by a "Dream Team" and being a HUGE fan of the books.

Admittedly I haven't sunk a massive amount of time into it, but the controls are lousy, the game, enemies and environments are repetitive, and considering its a endless (?) runner, there is a extreme lack of measuring how far you get. Its like it never really came together to be...well anything. At least that pixel art poster teaser thing for the game was awesome. Plus its free.

Actually, it does have an ending. I've been playing it all day (drained my entire battery) and I actually think it's a very well designed game, but like you I think the major issue is the controls. They are a constant frustration. While they work most of the time, it really hurts when they don't. Overall, for a low budget promotion game, it's more than serviceable.

I mean for a free iOS game you could certainly do much worse. *shrug*

Last time I checked I was sitting at 105 out of ~21,000 on the leaderboards (GunkGoblin). Wario was at like 257 (sucka).

oh yes, please. link me to the best ones!

I can't link you since I'm on my iPhone but here are some suggestions:

Spice Bandits - FREE
Gem Keeper - 2.99$
Kingdom Rush (iPad only) - 2.99$
Tower Defense: Lost Earth - 2.99$ or 4.99$ for HD, has a lite version
Sentinel 3: Homeworld - 2.99$ but has been free twice since December

And if you want something similar to Plants vs Zombies, try Samurai Bloodshow+, the full game is 1.99$. I'm sure I'm missing a few but these should be good enough to keep you busy.

Edit: I didn't catch if you were new to iOS gaming. If you are, download the AppShopper app and make a wishlist. It'll keep you updated on game sales etc. Has saved me lots of cash.

Anomaly Warzone Earth is a great twist on the TD genre, you're the creeps instead!

I'd personally put Kingdom Rush on top, but other than that, listen to this man!

Although, I didn't care for Spice Bandits once I got to the air guys, hate how they avoid towers, instead of just going in a straight path.

edit: Oh yeah, Anomaly Warzone Earth, as Pastry said above me. AWESOME game.

I didn't rank the suggestions, otherwise I'd have put Bloodshow on top ;) and I just thought that Spice Bandits was pretty good for a freemium game.

No TD list is complete without Anomaly: Warzone Earth (HD in the case of iPad)

Is there something like wordament for iPad? Basically boggle but you're playing the same grid against every other player online, and new games start every 2 minutes or so.

Thought I'd let you guys know that Helium Boy is free today

I had some issues before where some people couldn't run it on iPad, but I still haven't been able to get ahold of a device where the bug presents itself, so I had no other way of knowing if it's been fixed other than to release the new version and open up the floodgates for a new wave of bad reviews. If you do run into any problems please let me know

Fair enough. Like I said I hadn't played it that heavily yet, I must really be awful though b/c I CANNOT get out of the forest area. Most of it is control issues, but i'm def. not that good either.

thank you, sir.

Osmos is $1 today. As a new iPad owner, I had to bite after hearing bout it for a year. Phenomenal stuff! Just wish it supported retina pad.

Please scale your iPad shots down before posting them on GAF (don't just quote). Think of all the AUS GAFfers etc. Thanks!

Aussie here with unlimited internet. You think we all communicate by linking tin cans with fishing line down here or something?
