does freemyapps share points across ipad and iphone?

i don't have my ipad on me to check right now, and didn't quite understand what that upfront plugin install was doing...

sale tomorrow through Sunday for Big Daddy's Creations games :
Army of Frogs HD – FREE  (normally $2.99)
Caylus $2.99 (normally $4.99)
Neuroshima Hex $2.99 (normally $4.99)
Neuroshima Hex: Puzzle $0.99 (normally $2.99)

Neuroshima Hex is supposed to have an update in the works for next month adding online asynchronous multiplayer

Any opinions on these? I've never played either of these board games before.

The Neuroshima Hex lite version seemed ok, but it's hard to get a feel for the game because I don't think I quite understood what was going on. The game is like taking Advance Wars/Military Madness and making it into a board game, now back into digital form? :) Caylus I know nothing about other than it is listed #10 on BGG...

No, the credits are for each device. The plugin only checks the download when you go through the promos.

Yoooo I did the first few stages. I'm enjoying it, and those stars will make me completely anal about moving on to the next level. They even give you more pearls for doing them, alleviating the need to resort to IAP.

Glad you're enjoying it ! And about the stars, yes it's fun to search for all of them. The game is quite hard sometimes, haven't finished it yet... I just discovered last week there was a bonus 3d mission, I must search for my red & blue glasses to try it.

Good job guys, I will definitely keep an eye on the sequel.

Cool, little games need some exposure and good word to mouth, and I know the team is working very hard to deliver an even better secong game... My friend who is the art director/ concept artist on these, is incredibly talented and I hope they will have a deserved success with the 2nd one.

No, it's bound to the device, so if you have two devices you can actually get twice the amount of points... And redeem apps that you can share, so that's pretty cool :p and the plugin just records if you've installed&played it for 30secs, every app you install has it, this one just pops up because it ONLY installs the plugin. It's all safe, no worries there.

For the non-US freemyapps new users, you'll have to create a US account first --> logout, try to buy a free app, fill in fake contact info, choose not to add payment options, profit!

Also, Neuroshima Hex is great and all the different "fractions" add variety, it's pretty cool. Caylus is hit&miss, if you like european-style boardgames (think Carcassonne, Catan, etc) you'll love it, because it's quite deep and fun... If not, you'll probably get bored very quickly :p

nice, i have a iphone 4, 3gs and a new ipad i can use then! this will somewhat make-up for the 10-15 purchased games/apps that have since been remvoed from the app store and i don't have a hard backup of :)

Okay GAF. Looking to pick up some games for my pad. From the "Best of" thread, I'm looking at these:

Infinity Blade
Sword and Sorcery
Peggle
Groove Coaster
Drop 7
Jetpack Joyride
World of Goo

as well as Angry Birds Space, which has been getting strong reviews. I already have:

Sky Gamblers
PvZ
N.O.V.A.
Aurora Feint 3
Modern Combat 3
Samurai HD
Blackjack
Fruit Ninja

are there any other iPad/HD games I need to add to my list? I'm open to any genre, so long as it's good.

They sometimes also have sales of the high-credit games, usually when the game is also on sale in the appstore, if you don't wanna splash on those... E.g. Gta 3 was down to ~800 credits at some point.

I feel like an idiot but just discovered on new star soccer that you can speed up the time of the game in the top right hand corner. This changes everything

I'd really recommend adding Incoboto to that list, incredible game for iPad. Don't think it's retina yet.

Think I'm going to pick up the universal version of Sword and Sorcery even though I don't have an iPad. The one day I do eventually get one it'll be worth it springing for universal versions! lol.

:p

But how do you get the more expensive games? Beyond the social requirements ( which don't net you much ), I've done everything for points and have a little over 1,000. Or do new apps pop up daily?

There are 2,3 new apps every second Friday on average, and some disappear after a bit, so just click the site once a day or so :p i remember when i first discovered it i got to like 1700 with all the apps that were there, some must've been taken down i guess :p

Caylus is an excellent board game if you like the "Euro" style games. Check out review videos of the physical version on youtube to get an idea of how the game works. The iOS version is unfortunately a little unpolished at the moment, but they promise to smooth it out in the future.

Army of Frogs is nice looking, but the gameplay falls pretty flat for me.

All those you mentioned are really, really good. Not a super fan of Jetpack J but hey, it's free isn't it? And most people love it.
Off the top of my head, these games do for a very good start (90% of these have a free version you can try and I'd say 80% of them are either Universal or have a separate HD app), you can pick/try a few and then keep this list as a future reference to keep looking when you have time.

Sword and Poker 2 (don't think there's a demo tho, it's not HD, but it's easily in my top5 appstore game ever)
Dodonpachi Resurrection
Bug Princess
Draw Something
Tiny Wings
Plant vs Zombies
Space Invaders Infinity Gene (demo sucks, game's awesome)
Galaga 30th Anniversary (the remakes are sooo good)
Pinball Arcade
Shantae
Beat Hazard Ultra
Bit Trip Beat Blitz
Ghost Trick
Mad Skill Motocross (free)
Cut the Rope
Game dev Story
Monkey Island SE 1 and 2
Temple Run (free) (add gaffers to your GC, at first it seems horrible but it rocks and we all play it)
League of Evil 1
Spirits (dunno if there's a demo, it's a Lemmings "clone")
Mirror's Edge
Mos Speedrun
Death Rally (use control method 2 imo)

Also I recommend:
Urban Ninja
Hoggy
100 Rogues
Dungeon Raid
Beat Snick Bandit
Puzzle Agent HD
Prince of Persia Retro (doesn't support your own music/podcasts and you have to finish a level to save afaik)
Perfect Cell
Another World
Super Stick Man Golf
Flick Kick Football
Death Rally
Bike Baron
Broken Sword DC
Infinity Field
World of Goo
Where's my Water
Shift! 2 (not the driving game, the puzzle/platform one)
Sonic CD (if you can do with the virtual sticks, I mostly don't)

Infinity Blade
Sword and Sorcery
Peggle
Groove Coaster
Drop 7
Jetpack Joyride
World of Goo

These recommendations should be in the OP! Dash's and Dreams' lists

thank you, sir! I'll be picking a good number of these. I'll also check out the AC game.

We are giving away a Monsters Ate My Condo tshirt on the PikPok Facebook page

That's so awesome. I'm not on Facebook so I'll miss out. :-( Wish you had a store set up to buy them.

If you don't care about the "story", just get Infinity Blade 2 and skip the first one. You won't miss anything and it's much better.

Please scale your iPad shots down before posting them on GAF (don't just quote). Think of all the AUS GAFfers etc. Thanks!

oh, you all don't have the quotes reduce size? I thought that was universal. sowwy :(

Nono, that works for everyone, it's just that these shots are pretty hefty for traffic and stuffs. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Also, at least my browser on this computer doesn't handle big images scaled down well. I basically can't go into the hi-res screenshots thread because of this.

It's not the end of the world though.

What does big image size have to do with Australia... I am very confused right now.

^^lol^^

I just bought it. I loved the original game. Watched the trailer and was sold. :)

today's haul, thanks to GAF:

edit: resized for the poors of AUS GAF.[/QUOTE]

That looks like a strong haul. Also, you made me realize to revisit a lot of the universal games I bought when I just had an iPhone on my shiny new iPad. Death Rally particularly. Thanks!
