I'm sorry but fuck the dev of tiny wings. He claimed to be in it for the games and music. He got a shit ton of money and just walked away. Fucking turncoat hipster.

Haha yeah I'm pretty sure the Tiny Wing dev made himself a couple of million and then retired. He updated the game a couple of times and that was it. Not a peep out of him since. Can't blame him I guess I would
go on a longggggg ass vacation if my one-man game was downloaded several million times.

There's an interview with him from January where he says he's still developing games, but he still works on his own so it takes ages.

If he didn't release any more games, can you blame him?

I remember reading on Touch Arcade that the developer of iShoot or something had a ton of success, so what did he do? Spent an ass-load on a sequel which flopped.

May as well take the money and run.

Tried putting it into your iPad yet?

Yeah, did so a couple of minutes ago. It's telling me I'm not subscribed to any cellular data service.

For those not up to speed on my issue, I wanna know if the 3G of an iPad 1 bought in Europe will work in America. If I need to unlock/jailbreak it or something such.

These recommendations should be in the OP! Dash's and Dreams' lists

Yeah good luck having that lazy bastard updating the OP

teamaxe where art thou? We need the banners ;) If you're lurking: I see you haven't logged in a bit, i imagine you've been busy but I haven't asked other Gaffers to do the banners since I'd like to keep consistency to your previous stuff, still waiting next week to see if you have time to log in again :)

I don't know why we let someone so lazy handle the OP. (I tossed the two lists in a google doc just so we I don't need to go digging to find it if you want it. )

Why aren't I seeing any Angry Birds Space discussion. Fun twist on the same formula. Definitely worth it if you like Angry Birds.

It has an OT.

Probably old news but I noticed some new achievements for Jetpack Joyride. update should be soon...

I'm sure this was posted in here but the hunger games game is fucking awesome. It's made by the canabalt guy with art by the guy who did super crate box and music by the super meat boy guy.

It's okay but can't complain for free. If they tightened the controls and smooth out the framerate, I would enjoy it a lot more

Completely agree - the game is fun but man the controls are less than spectacular.

This is a little OT since it's not necessarily about games, but I'm looking to watch flash videos on my iPad (and iPhone too, but iPad is more important) and was wondering if any of you do the same? Right now it looks like my options are the Skyfire browser ($5 x 2), another browser I can't remember off the top of my head that starts with an O I think ($5 x 2), or this new Skyfire program where you email them the URL that has the flash video and they get it running for you ($2 universal).

Any experience with any of them (or something else)?

You will hear news from the Tiny Wings developer this year.

I just bought Splashtop Remote Desktop for iPad and it's great to watch flash videos on the iPad. The performance of this app is superb. For the $2.99 I paid, it's worth every penny. You should check it out.

Cool. I don't know if people should care about my recommendations tho :P
I'll toss in a link near jedeye's thread.
Or maybe we could do something bigger and better and add a game(s) of the week thingie and updating it as we go on, that'd be cool, I think. Would you want to manage that or that's not your thing? Simple Google doc with name, platform requirement (ie iPad 2+ only) and if it is universal/has a separate HD app.
Now, being serious for a second, we're just waiting on the banners to make things a bit better. Which is my fault, since teamaxe had them ready before but in the meantime I got banned (lol) so he couldn't send them to me, and now he's not logging in and is probably busy. Life.

You still doing something with third-party controllers? I've still got the iCade list of games in this thread but it hasn't been updated in awhile. If you are going to add it to the OP I'll make sure to update it and keep it update. I stopped since no one seemed to care.

So I picked up that soccer game everyone was fawning over. Fun stuff!

How do you get back energy though? Is the only way through the energy drink or random events?

Splashtop is good, works well. I rarely use it to watch flash video in a browser but it definitely works for that. Sometimes the audio is a bit out of sync if your internet connection is weak though.

got birds space off freeapps

coming from someone who got bored with the first ones within a few levels, this ones surprisingly not bad with the gravity mechanics. liking it so far

Each time you finish a match you recover some energy, make sure you buy property to increase your energy recovery. Each time you move to a better team, the cost of energy drinks will increase in price.

It's not the team which increases the price it is your star level.

Argh, gaming websites blocked at my work. Gimme the deets!

IGN article:

Overhaul Games put weeks of speculation to rest today, officially announcing that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be available for iPad this summer, alongside the PC release.

The iPad port will include all the improvements and additions found in the PC version, including full integration of the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack. The title is also running on the refined Baldur's Gate II Infinity Engine, allowing gamers to experience the original adventure with the sequel's refined graphics options and other engine tweaks.

Overhaul has promised that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will also feature brand-new story content including more quests and a new party member. Although these details are for now under-wraps, the company has promised that all of the additional story content will also make its way onto the iPad.

I had the opportunity to go hands-on with an early build of Baldur's Gate iPad, and my initial impressions leave me optimistic about the potential of this huge port. For now, Overhaul is primarily demonstrating that this is indeed Baldur's Gate, running on an iPad. It exists, it runs smoothly, and as a company representative put it, "the technical issues are behind us."

Available soon in the palm of your hand.

What hasn't yet been changed is the interface. With the PC version's tiny buttons, very small dialogue selections and incredibly complex menus displayed on an iPad, right now it's tough to effectively play with a touch interface. Overhaul has promised that revised, touch-friendly menus are in the works.

The iPad port's revised pan and zoom camera control shows the potential of a more "player friendly" Baldur's Gate iPad experience. The camera has been fully optimized for iPad and works in the way players expect. They can pinch to zoom their viewpoint in and out, and a simple drag of the finger moves the camera anywhere around the map. A button toggle locks the camera and enables drag selection boxes, making it easy to select multiple enemies in hairy combat situations.

Although the iPad is generally considered a more casual games platform, the potential for games like Baldur's Gate is obvious. This early build proves that there is absolutely no reason rich role-playing experiences can't shine on tablets.

IGN will have much more on BG1's iPad progress in the coming weeks and months.

If you don't care about graphics, I recommend the recently released Swordigo.

It's a hack and slash/platformer/RPG with a bit of Metrodvania and Zelda. Gameplay is tight.

Visually it's very bad though, but overall I'm really enjoying it. Like I said, gameplay is tight.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've just played it for half an hour and it's very good. Controls are excellent.

Aw yeah, nice deets! Can't wait to play these games. The BG series is one that I've always wanted to play but never had the time to. Long commutes should see that issue resolved! I also for some reason like text-y games in iPad more than PC too. Something about sitting at my PC and reading reams of text is really off-putting.

EDIT: also played a bunch of Hunters 2 on the bus this morning, game is excellent, fixes a lot of the responsiveness and usability issues I had with the first game. It feels slick and fast paced now and the graphics are beautiful. Very easily the best TBS I've played on iOS now (so far at least, it might turn to shit later in the game!).

If you are on the fence about Pocket League Story, I jumped in yesterday and I am loving it. I loved Game Dev Story and thought Mega Mall Story and Grand Prix Story were just okay, but Pocket League is amazing. I'm not even a big soccer/football fan!

Veteran iPhone gamer/owner, just bought an iPad today... games, please? That aren't on iPhone (as in, I already know infinity blade and superbrothers and etc are better in the iPad, but I want "exclusive" games here)...
