Good lord, the Galaxy On Fire 2 HD update doubled the size of the game from ~650MB to over 1.2 gigs.

This kind of stuff is why I'm honestly really glad I got the 64GB (and I have zero music & photos and maybe 15GB of TV shows on here).

Amazes me how every time freemyapps or the like are mentioned, their legitimacy/safety come into question. Not because it's so obvious that these services are safe to use (and I'm sure there's at least one out there that is a scam), but simply because of how many times it's been addressed by the many that use these services. There should probably be something in the OP about it.

As my backlog continues to grow, I've now put 30 hours into FFT, and I'm just getting to the impossible

fight at Riovanes. I'm somewhat surprised I've stuck with it for so long, as I'm not generally one for replays, and also the controls can be somewhat frustrating on iPad (I can only imagine what'd be like on iPhone). But as everyone already knows, it's just so damn good that even when I put it down for a few days, I always end up coming right back.

Also picked up Monsters Are My Condo when it was free. I had absolutely no interest in it, primarily because I'm over high score games and really prefer something with more of a persistent goal. Damn is it god though. I love everything about it, from art to music to gameplay, and it's one of the few score games that's going to stay on my device for more than just a day.

Just finished up Mass Effect Infiltrator, well impressed by the quality and fun of the game. Graphics were beautiful, and the combat was inventive while staying true to the feel of Mass Effect. I feel bad for blindly hating on it after Dead Space now! The story was pretty shite though, if they'd spent a little longer on that aspect the game would be stunning.

I haven't finished but what impresses me are the controls. They're so smooth and have convinced me third-person shooters can work on a touchscreen.

project 83113 is pretty great

the controls almost work great, it's a little annoying when you're trying to doublejump and he dashes instead.

probably the best iOS platformer I played since Soosiz

Is that thing safe? I see too many things installing and stuff :S

You know, lots of folks say it is, and heck, I use both freeappsdaily and freemyapps, but since around the time I started using both, I've been getting nonstop automated solicitations from numbers from out west (Washington, Oregon, etc.) Not sure if they sold my info or if it's just a coincidence, but it's something to consider, I think.

It's just using your UDID.

Can anyone recommend any good iPhone SRPG? Final Fantasy Tactics seems really tempting but it's a bit to expensive for me.

Shining Force, only one dolla
Hunters is ok
Ravenmark is good, but doesnt have much "RPG" involved like Tactics does
Dungeon Crawlers is a good distraction

Mecho Wars and Great Little War Game are like Advance Wars

Tower of Fortune is a great distraction game to keep me occupied while Pocket Planes runs it routes.. but damn is it not grind heavy right now..

It's so unbalanced on the money side... the only great loot comes from bosses and they increase in strength to absurd levels after beating them just a few times.. and the upper levels usually cost more to enter than you'll ever getting by beating the monster there..

lame.

Just finished Sid Meier's Pirates. Game is still fucking brilliant. Great port too.

Highly recommended. I wish there were more pirate games. :(

..and beat ToF.. all 3 endings.

Kind of a disappointment after the early parts.. the bosses were so easy for my over-grinded guy.

I wasted so much cash grinding bosses before I realized that it was pointless.. then realized I need like 26k to open up the halo. Then find out that the 1st level boss after like 10 defeats is harder than the end game boss.

Thank you, I'm gonna give Shining Foce a shot.

Try Loststar Tactics, it's really good.
Playing the free version now, seems fun!

GoF2 -why does travel have to be so fucking tedious?

Edit: Just as I say that, I get the mission for the (1-2 hour in spoilers)
Khador drive.
lol

I was looking at that but all the reviews mention horrible crashing.

Haven't experienced a single crash in about 12 hours of play. I'm playing on a 3GS, by the way, not the most cutting-edge iOS hardware. But the game does have its quirks. During swords fights, the sounds of sword swipes will usually sound off long after the battle is over (but they do cut out when the scene is over, so it's not to worry). The dancing mini-games are also hit & miss, literally. Sometimes it reads my taps accurately; other times I miss beat markers I absolutely hit on time.

What's this? You stopped playing Pocket Planes? Even for a minute? =O

So how DO you grind money? I have no idea how to open the location before Halo.

Yep nearly everyone I know has no idea apps run in the background and that you can close them.

but isn't the system designed so that if a new program requires more power it will close them automatically? my iPad one crashes programs constantly from browser to basic stuff if there's something still taking room in the background. And sometimes i need to do a reboot of the entire device to get games like GTA3 to run.

just bought sonic 1 and 2 since price dropped to 1$ but there seems there is no sound at all in the games so stay away until it gets fixed

They don't run in the background. They might reside in memory, but they don't run (with very few exceptions).

You should never have to close recent apps, the OS is designed this way.
Pinball Arcade does. The amount of times I've played, put down, come back and found my phone with far too much charge lost AND it warmer than (insert simile here) is ridiculous. Also gone to bed with the game one of the last things I opened (not even necessarily the last) and woken up with a flat battery several times, too.

They are few offenders that sap juice like no tomorrow. I've noticed TribezHD knocks the battery down fast if I just put the ipad in sleep rather than closing the app manually then putting it in sleep.
Of course I could be imagining it
