I wonder how long ContrLive will last on App Store. Grabbed it just in case.

http://itunes.apple.com/app/contrlive/id499553568?mt=8

Crappy controls, only three levels, infinite lives, can't shoot down, can fall through the ground, jump and kill(?) buttons reversed, sampled music is a joke. But still, hilarious.

Was just gonna try it out before I went shopping. Didn't even sit down and finished the whole game in 7 minutes! :)

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but it needs to be brought up again.

Crimson Heart.

Seriously, I think I've logged upwards of 20 hours into this game in the past few days. It's like Wild Frontier got smacked by Monster Hunter. It's hard, it's rewarding, and it's fun.

Are the IAPS necessary? Looks fun and the TA thread is pretty huge.

lol wasn't wild frontier already mh?

And i found the fire mage girl seems to die a bunch after you get her in your party. Either the AI is broken, or I need to change up the ai options o_O.

Absolutely not. To be honest, I'm not even sure what the IAPs are for. I think there's one for inventory space, but I've never needed it so far. If I start to run out of space, I won't have a problem giving them $1 for more space though - this is definitely worth the moneys.

Wild Frontier is really really easy. Crimson Heart, on the other hand, is really really hard. The most recent patch lowered the difficulty a bit. That being said, I've not noticed it, and most people over at TA agree that whatever adjustments they made were minimal and most likely made to the opening areas.

The AI is tough, but you just have to know how to work with it. I'll take control of the weaker characters in tight times to heal up or go nuke crazy if need be. The Grand Pudding takes about 15 seconds to kill if you nuke it while Pochi (full VIT build in my new game) bashes on it.

Does anyone know what cards you can unlock for Necronomicon Redux and at what high score? I'm finally beginning to understand how the game works and got to at least get a draw... :P

I'm just now realizing that Steins Gate isn't actually a game...I assumed visual novels had at least navigation and puzzle solving, ugh.

So GoF 2 (regular ed.) got updated with iCloud save support. GoF 2 HD meanwhile got IAP for the Kaamo club station that came with Valkyrie and... game credits. Yay? (no doubt trying to cash in on people swapping playtgroughs from regular to HD)

Also additional language support for both versions.

Edit: Be warned! If you have both versions, or maybe it can happen regardless, your save games might get wiped out! Mine just were, incl. my Valkyrie purchase (got that back by "buying" again but my endgame saves are poof!)

Thanks Fishlabs.

did you upload your save to openfient? I agree Fishlabs should seperate the save files if they are going to use icloud for both the SD and HD versions of the game

The saves are separate between the two versions, the Openfeint slot can be used across both, and presumably the iCloud one too once HD supports it. But they were all wiped out for me.

20+ hours gone :(

whoa just by updating the save file was wiped?

Hey Jedeye Sniv,

Thanks man, it was a massive project, i think i underestimated how hard it would be when i started. If i get the chance to make a second game i'm definitely going to be building a small team first : )

End Night will be releasing at $2.99

Controls are really simple, a joystick and an aim button, your character when in aim mode will auto target the nearest enemies

The whole game is built around being replayed, so the virus strand youre trying to cure changes randomly, along with placement of key items in the game world, and even some more subtle experimental things, like the carpets changing color in the different houses each time you play.

Tried also to make the gameplay feel really dynamic/emergent, One example is if you kill an enemy upclose, then you get covered in blood, if you have an open wound, you can get infected, so now you need to stop what you are doing and find a bathtub to clean the blood off.

Sounds ambitious, you got yourself a sale here :) I'll post with impressions when I've given it some time. I love the idea of generating the content, I wish more games would do this, I think it is the future of gaming (and ironically, the past as well with games like Elite).

Yup! I guess it has something to do with the added iCloud save slot, and this is supposed to be a glitch squashing update prepping for Valkyrie according to the developers..

Guess I won't be updating it until there is a fix. The openfient save is also wiped? I mean if you update and the save was wiped you can still use the openfient save since it is a cloud save file.

Some do - I've seen VNs with combat systems and even music game elements - but at the core they are generally just choose-your-own-adventure books with much more dialogue in between choices.

Battlefiel 3 is horseshit so far.

Only the jankiest multiplayer I have ever seen.

It is truly breathtaking.

No wonder why it is free and 3 months late...

It really is a shitshow.

The 4 v 4 mtiplayer is a lag fest and after 4 online matches, there seems to be only one map...

Inspired by the film "Act of!Valor"? This is by far the worst EA iOS release EVER.

Managed to get a slightly older save restored via iExplorer, Openfeint refuses to go into Online mode to use the cloud save. Curiously iCloud saves now work across both version, and my Game Center achievements have gotten applied to both as well now.

You know.. in a way, it kind of 'blows my mind' to think that we're now looking at graphics like this and think it looks so bad... on the screen of our mobile phones. Then seeing stuff like Mass Effect Infiltrator, or some of the FPS titles released already... dayum! :)

Can't wait for what we get on our small devices 5 years from now :P

Forgot to put Football Manager Handheld on my watchlist and it turns out it went on sale about a week ago for a day. Noooooo. :(

I am not updating at all..

from fishlabs

Hello everybody,

Unfortunately, the synchronization of save games between all iOS versions of Galaxy on Fire 2, which was about to be added with the current update, did cause a number of problems for both the SD and HD versions of the game. Right now, our developers are trying their best to find a solution for those problems and we will, of course, keep you posted as soon as there are any news.

The problems caused by the new update are as follows:

- In the SD version of GOF2 it seems as if all of your old save games have disappeared and it is also not possible to restore them via Open Feint. However, those save games have NOT been deleted and we will be able to restore them with the next update. Please do not delete Galaxy on Fire 2 from your device or else your old save games will indeed be lost for good.

- In both versions of GOF2 (SD and HD) it is currently not possible to make in-app purchases. Hence you are neither able to make use of the new credit packs nor to unlock Valkyrie and Kaamo Club at the moment. We will surely solve this glitch with the next update as well.

- In order to avoid further complications, we have removed the regular version of Galaxy on Fire 2 from the App Store for the time being. We will upload it again as soon as everything is fixed and the lost save games have been restored.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences and will let you know as soon as everything works fine again.

All the best,

The regular edition of Galaxy on Fire 2 is no longer on the App Store, only Lite and HD are there. Here's hoping for a quick fix.

iExplorer is a program that lets you browse the file structure of the phone, I had backed up the save files manually a while ago, sadly it wasn't the most recent one of mine.

Some do - I've seen VNs with combat systems and even music game elements - but at the core they are generally just choose-your-own-adventure books with much more dialogue in between choices.

I'm in the middle of playing Corpse Party, and that's more of an adventure game style, also used to stuff like Phoenix Wright and the Kojima VNs. Guess stuff like Steins Gate is more traditional and those are much more game-y examples of the genre.

Don't know anything about Corpse Party, but Phoenix Wright is kind of a hybrid - to the point that I hesitate to even label it as a VN at all despite its method of storytelling. The greater VN genre is definitely a different beast.

SpaceChem looks pretty sweet. I'm going to have to give it a shot.
It's pretty tough right from the start, but pretty satisfying when you solve a puzzle. I just wish it had a story mode or campaign to make it a little more than a series of puzzles.

Anyone can recommend a game similar to Animal Crossing?

I think iOS would be a great platform for these kind of games, but I don't know of any.
