Checked out The Secret of Grisly Manor the other day and loved it, as did my coworkers. It was too short though and left me wanting more. Is there anything else like it on the app store, but preferably longer?

Also, does anyone know what happened to Very Hungry Cat? My wife LOVED the game, but when we tried to get it for her on her new iPhone, it was gone. It just seemed to vanish from the app store, and doesn't even show up in my purchases.

I'm hearing that people are losing saves with Jetpack Joyride. Might be new update related. Not gonna play it until a new update comes out I guess...or maybe it was the bug that the update killed

Damn good thing I immediately backed up my data after updating.

I learned my lesson after losing my progress once: I've backed up too, so I'll let you know how it goes when I download the update.

The first two (Painted Tower, Dark Flight) Drawn games are good adventures on PC/iOS. They should last ok if you don't get frustrated and end up skipping the puzzles (it lets you do that if you haven't solved one after a while, it also can give you hints). iPad only I think. Try the free bit of the first game.

I like the presentation, but the concept is so underdone and half baked that I can't help thinking "what could be/could have been".

I have no personal experience with them, but Kairosoft (Game Dev Story's developers) have a multitude of other games on iOS. You could give one or all of them a shot.

If you've never played Ghost Trick, that's also quite the amazing time killer. You'll need to hook it up to WiFi at least once to buy all the chapters (IAP, $9.99) but after that the whole game will be available offline.

Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle, Cut The Rope, Jetpack Joyride, Battleheart, Puzzlejuice-these are all really cheap games that have a ton of content.

Hope everything goes well-I had my gallbladder removed in November-it was no fun.

I've spent hours playing Where's My Water since downloading it a couple of weeks ago. It's only £0.69/$0.99, and it's probably my favourite iOS game. There are also tons of levels. I really hope it eventually dethrones Angry Birds (it's selling incredibly well), because it's absolutely fantastic.
