Flick Pig is a cute little game but the tutorial doesn't do a very good job teaching you the stacking mechanics (IMO). Love the cute cell-shaded graphics and coin sounds though..

I love Where's My Water. I didn't get into it at first even though I thought it was a cool game. Now I can't get enough of it!

I think this is the first ios puzzle game where I'm trying to get everything!

I have codes!

I'm probably a little more excited about this than I should be, as a professional.

In case you missed Mario's post, Monster Flip is developed by Launching Pad Games, another Kiwi studio, and published under our PikPok label. It's just come out, and is our first title published but not developed in-house.

I have three codes to give away on a first come, first served basis.

I didt get a code but I did just buy the app anyways. Looks fun.

Monster Flip impressions please, since people are playing it now!

Is it any better than bog-standard match-3s?

Played a bit of it and it's pretty unique. Still getting the hang of positioning since I'm not used to how u rotate to match 3. Game definitely seems like it's worth the $.99. Lots of content and the art style and music are great. Also lovethe angry monster mechanic though I fail at combing them lol. I've only played Classic and Puzzle mode though I can see myself getting hooked on Puzzle mode trying to 3 star everything.

You know, I think I'd kill for some kind of Marble Madness game that relies on tilt and/or a trackball-esque control method. Or a tilt game akin to the bonus stage in Sonic 1 on Megadrive.

DDP Resurrection HD Incoming! Why can't they add iCade support for the HD only releases?? :(

Wait, wait wait!!

Dodonpachi Resurrection HD??

What does this mean for me??

I already bought Dodonpachi Resurrection back in Summer 2010 when it came out. I have an iPhone 4S but DON'T have an iPad.

Do I have to buy this again to get HD sprites?? Does it work on 4S??

My reply in the Cave thread:

"Looking at the PR page...oh shit it's a universal* HD release, finally won't look all blurry on the iPhone retina display! I'm not sure but I think it says Espgaluda II is going universal* too.

*but not iPad and iPod touch, presumably cause they have 256MB RAM."

So hell yes get it if you have an iPhone 4/4S and/or iPad 2/"The new" iPad. The old releases don't get sharp pixel doubling on the iPhone 4 which is annoying as hell.

And.... Simpsons Tapped Out is still down. Giving up and deleting very soon.

I haven't had any connection issues in a few days. My problem is that it is asking me to build another Simpsons House, which I obviously cannot do, and I am unable to to anything until I do so! The Facebook page appears to be updated regularly with progress reports, and they seem very keen to address everyones' issues. They have a survey where you can share your grievances here:

It's a broken mess, they are stingy as fuck with the donuts, and crashes all the time and almost never wants to load "my town" 75% of the time I click on the app, which for this style of "check-in" type of game is insane...

yet..

I keep playing it. I just love the Simpsons setting that much.. level 11 right now. I keep wasting money expanding and building houses.. but the money is coming in fast now.

Just wish there was a way to get donuts without paying, you get like 1 per level, it's insane. Just give me enough to gamble on a statue or mystery box once in awhile.

Oh shit, PUZZLE SPORT GUNNY GAME HOT has dropped from £34.99 to just £31.99!!!! Get it quick!!!!

Check out the description. How can you resist a game that sells itself so well, and for such a low low price!

Somebody needs to buy this just so they can post screens. Come on, I hear enough people talking about crazy backlogs with multiple games they've bought day 1 on GAF. There's got to be someone with more money than sense. SmokyDave? You're always saying how you want higher prices on the AppStore?

I'm allergic to manga, sorry.

Also, I have £35 digital pounds earmarked to buy Lumines or Rayman (Vita) when I get home.

I'd totally buy a £40 app though, depending on what it was.

I think GAF needs to stage an intervention on this Simpsons game. You can't support shit like that on principle alone. I don't care how strong the license is.

The second screenshot on appshopper looks like it's been taken from one of the Worms games, or is that only me?

It's from an MMO called TAAN which plays similarly to worms (turn-based action shooting). The screenshot they used is even watermarked twice. Classy.

Has anyone played Gamevil's Plants War?

I tried it up to stage 6 and its pretty fun. I've never been able to get into DOTA..but this feels like a "casual" single player DOTA so far. I haven't hit any "pay wall" yet..but the game does feel quite grind heavy if you want all the upgrades. There seems to be IAP characters (not surprising), but so far its ok. There looks to be a lot of missions, each with 3 difficulties. There doesn't seem to be a way to earn the "premium" currency though, so I expect to hit a paywall sooner or later. Give it a try. =)

Wow that adventure bar story is top 15 paid.

After playing an hr. still have no clue what's going on. Not getting the cooking system :/

Combine ingredients at random and hope for the best. Eventually you'll stumble upon a recipe that works. Alternatively, you can find recipes around the place and make stuff, normally I just scroll to "makable" and make whatever happens to be there, because trying to invent my own recipes is a chore when 99% of them fail. If you go next door to Fred's shop, there's a TON of tools you can buy which increases the possibilities greatly, do that ASAP.

Once you've made stuff, you can either eat it for EXP to level up, or sell it in the restaurant for money to buy better equipment or more ingredients.

Ill admit im only about 20 minutes into Adventure Bar Story, but I get the strong impression that someone built an entire game based off the concepts of the cooking subgame in Suikoden 2. You go out into the wilderness and explore for ingredients, you can trade those ingredients in the various towns to obtain rare items, and use those items in a cooking contest in an effort to make a name for yourself in order to avoid a hostile takeover of your family-owned kitchen.

I like it!

You have to just exit, double tap home, delete, reload.. it works.. not always the 1st time.. but you'll get back to your real city.

I wish it'd stop booting me to the tutorial, it's really the only annoying thing still wrong that I've found. I can deal with the wait 60 seconds, but the "stupid little elf game"..

Reminds me of an old korean tank MMO game I used to play when I was younger, name escapes me.

edit: gunbound

Not sure if you're aware but this was originally a PSP game in Japan. Not sure it was a retail game, might have been digital only.

That Power of Coin game is hot. I must flick the coins and see if the game actually ends. I'm already out of coins, but thankfully I work all day so I have a fresh batch ready to use when I get home.

Tintin is probably GameLoft's best game visually. Complete with texture pop-in. Unreal Engine? lol. But the gameplay so far has been pretty stank.

That's all I got to offer.
