Anyone know if you delete the freemyapps install (the monitoring bit, not the shortcut) and reinstall if it remembers your device? ie could I do this and approach it as a new user again?

Also I know it's an old topic but I'm loving FFT on my iPad, although it does all feel a bit like a chore. Not the game itself, but moving and attacking. Even equipping gear and spending JP feels encumbered by thec controls. For a game like this, I really wish they had an option for trackpad controls. After using Splashtop's remote desktop, I really feel like this would have been a perfect fit. And of course, you can use trackpad controls to navigate menus, but it doesn't work so well for tile selection (you have to hold for a second before it toggles from rotate mode to trackpad mode). Also dragging over menu items causes the game to go from trackpad to direct touch selection, which I would preferably disable. A bit of a rant, but I'm still happy to have one of my favorite games of all time on my iPad.

Playing spell sword, love the idea of the game, but damn the controls suck so bad (I did the update) its almost unplayable. Monster flip has me hooked, great game with a unique way to play a puzzle game. I have beat sneak bandit and aralon hd sitting on the back burner (well I have tons of games on the back burner)

I don't think so. You can clear your safari settings and stuff, which will force you to install the monitoring thing again, but it'll keep track of your previous points. Ultimately it goes by device. If you had another iOS device, you can start fresh, though.

Crow just dropped in price to 99 cents

Controversial game, to some it's the best iOS game they've ever played, to others it's an artsy great-looking tech demo with shallow gameplay mechanics. I've thoroughly enjoyed it thus far and have yet to beat the last boss. The difficulty at the end hasn't annoyed me yet like it has most people but I do think it is a bit lacking in checkpoints and such.

Any more opinions on Tower of Fortune? Really like the look of it, but no iPad version, ngh! Has anyone tried it on iPad 2 yet?

The reviews look fun but I see complaints about later game grinding...which is the main reason I haven't picked a it up yet either. I actually enjoy some grinding..just not up to mmorpg lengths... I'm mostly not sure if the grind is 1-2 hours to get to the end of the game or if it's for instance >10 hours variety.

Just curious for those with an iPad and an iPhone/iPod touch which one you guys spend more time gaming on. I know it really depends on the type of games though. Since getting the new iPad, I still find most of my gaming on the iPod touch mostly due to the size and comfort of holding the iPod (for the game that I play). I do like adventure games and the hidden object games on the iPad though.

Has anyone tried Gene Effect?

It got a lot of praise 1/2 pages back, check there :p

Apart from the obvious board/cardgames I'm playing Pocket RPG atm, after pickig it up last week on sale :p it's fun enough to keep me going :)

Also, PM me for four LostWinds codes, you'll get them when I'm off work tonight. (I'm a terrible person I know)

NOVA 3 comes out tonight? Gah, I really don't want to give gameloft anymore money, but I also really want to see how that games looks....

Plus, the multiplayer actually looks great. Anyone picking that up tonight? Maybe if I had someone to play with, I might want to grab it.

I also see Lost Winds 2 and N.O.V.A. 3 are coming out tonight, but those can wait.
Where do you see that? What app/site are you using?

I'm considering getting it but I'm not sure, kind of want to see if there are any surprises coming out tonight.

Is Wednesday a big night for iOS or something? Lol

I will likely be corrected by a developer but I believe that you can stipulate a specific Thursday for releasing an app, whereas if not they are released immediately upon authorising.

Wait, Lost Winds 2 is coming out tonight? Awesome, the first one is a great game. I really hope you start the game with everything unlocked, especially the cape. The cape took the game from being cute but cumbersome to being a joy to play.

Instabuy, and anyone who's not played LW1 needs to get on that ASAP.

Is the Nova series supposed to be a rip-off of Halo or Crysis? haha

And for those of you who have played the previous games, does the game play differently from their Modern Combat series?

The controls in Spellsword make it unplayable in general...

The game requires near-precise movement and you cannot at all execute those moves exactly how you want all the time. Just one of the downsides of onscreen controls like that.

Shame, because it plays pretty well.

Well, before the update, the controls could, at times, be unresponsive, but they never stood in my way of having an insane blast with the game. Now, though, this thing's just plain unplayable. The directional arrows are almost completely unresponsive.

This really is one of my favorite games to release in the last few months -- and I didn't even like either SCB or Muffin Knight -- but the game is truly broken now. I'm sure the dev will figure it out. Just sucks having a lull in my momentum. I had almost everything unlocked, my card levels up high, and I'm finally able to get my scores in Endless up to a respectable level.

Started with Halo, looks like it graduated to Crysis. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad; Gameloft really doesn't have creativity. Instead of spinning off NOVA into a Crysis 2 clone, they could have taken a more original path and probably sold just as well, since NOVA is well known by now.

Anyway, yeah, it plays like Modern Combat. I'll play some MC3 right now just to be sure, but they're practically the same controls.

The update description completely acknowledged the controls and said not to update.

Is there a way to transfer the save file from Chaos Rings over to Chaos Rings HD?? I want to play the other stories, but I want to do it on my iPad.

I just went to Starbucks and picked up a bunch of codes for LostWinds. If you are someone that isn't near a Starbucks and would like a code, PM me. I have about 10 codes and I'll edit this post when I'm all out.

EDIT: All claimed!

Maybe if you're jailbroken, but even then, probably not.

Edit: Let me clarify. If you're jailbroken, you could access your save files via iFile and manually stick them in the other version.

Can't you do the same with iExplorer on a non-jailbroken device?

That'd be news to be. What's iExplorer? An app, or computer software?

Computer software you can browse the file system of iDevices with and copy/paste save files with without being jailbroken. Note: jailbreaking allows you to see the root system files and similar things on iDevices as well which are otherwise not accessible.

Like so:

iREaJ4RhyFz5U.png

Infinity Blade 1 used as example, the contents of the "Documents" folders within apps is in 99.9% of cases where games/apps store their save games/'permanent' settings. Files you can backup and then paste onto other devices, or between SD and HD versions of games that are otherwise identical in nature.

Oh! It looks a lot like iFunBox. That's awesome if that'll work with unjailbroken devices, and that could solve that save-file-switching issue.

And thanks, Shaneus. =P I'm stuck on an iPad with extreeeemely slow Internet, so cut me some slack. I don't even have the ability to make and post snarky images like that, lol.

Ahhh cool didn't know about this. I'd make backups of my saves just in case, but I think that'd be a little cumbersome without it being automated. It would be really useful if you need to restore your device for some reason, though.

Better solution? Require that all games have cloud saves.

It is cumbersome-and the worst part is there is no standard for the Save file-it could be in any folder and a multitude of file types. that's mostly why there is no automated application that backs up your save files.

Reeeeeeaaaally curious about Nova 3's framerate on iPhone 4. Also, mashing up Halo with Crysis 2 is at least a bit more creative than just copying Halo... But eh... Yeah... Still ridiculously uninspired. Though it is pretty and if they improved Nova 2's multiplayer, it's going to rock in that department.

By the way, I highly recommend Luxor Evolved, especially considering it's only 99 cents right now. It's basically Zuma, but with Asteroid/Tron type graphics, and a whole bunch of powerups and techno music. Very fun.

Yeah, I'm buying for the multiplayer, even though I feel a little self conscious about buying Gameloft stuff.
