I have to say guys, if you're getting disconcerted by people changing genders, the future is going to be very problematic for some of you.
Biotech is advancing rapidly, and with AI in the mix, post-humanism is knocking at the door. People are and will be changing genders as well as anything else they can and want (and can afford). Augmentation, chips, another leg, 3 eyes, robotic necks, consciousness on a server, you name it. People will want to be more than what they are and technology will be there.
The whole trans discourse will be completely obsolete when the next big thing in transhumanism comes.

Sadly it is, I told him not to take the book back, it'll be more helpful to not have some other kid get hold of it and try weird things with their butt, it only takes one slightly autistic kid to go home and try stuff when their parents arent looking and it's a trip to hospital..
The school in question is utterly lost. A few weeks back a few vile kids were spreading rumours my lad hated trans kids, the school phoned me up personally and told me he was being questioned, they made a right song and dance about it.
Three days later another three kids ganged up on him in the changing room (totally separate incident) and one hit him on the head, the school never rung, even though he told two teachers. I was livid. I went in and had it out with his head of year and two others why physical violence wasn't deemed as bad as some made up rumours about my boy hating 'trans kids', they didn't know what to say. I recorded the conversation, it's still on my phone.
Sad thing is my boy is a goody two shoes, won't stick up for himself, won't break any rules which makes him an easy target.
The school has an LGBT after school 'club' for 11+. Yeah, work that out. Damn kids haven't even gone through puberty, but they're trans or the wrong sex..
The amount of kids my boy says at his school are 'transitioning' is worrying, he even has a few girls in his class that are 'non binary'. They're 13.
Sorry to rant off, but I find a this stuff abhorrent when it's targeting children and when adults enforce it.
We're currently going through a managed move for him to the school my wife works at. His current school is utterly indoctrinated with this shite.
And that's before you get to all the school assemblies he has that try to enforce that all boys are 'terrible' or some form of 'white guilt'
Utterly sick of it. Our society is rotten to the core.
We're also thinking of just home schooling at this point. He far exceeds his age and just wants to be a commercial pilot bless him, he just needs three more years so I can get him started properly.

I think this a long way off and it's equally if not more likely we'll blow ourselves back to the stone age, or get ravaged by a pandemic with a high % of death, or AI will become self aware and decide to destroy us, or any other scenario.
Personally I predict the future you envisage won't come to pass, or the tech will be highly regulated and controlled by a tiny few.
Have you seen this? Crazy they can already read your thoughts and translate it to speech using AI, AND get people to think of a scene and then the system produces a photo of what you envisioned. Mad:

That book is pretty clearly stated in all the blurbs and adverts to be for young adults of 14+.
Frankly, it's unhealthy to not tell the dumb little twats at that age about sexuality.
But under 14 is not necessary or right. It's the school that's at fault here. If your kid is under 14, it's perfectly right for you to object to them being exposed to anything that's meant to be for older children.

I'm in the UK. It seems to be a free for all here these days. Ironically a lady I used to work with when we dealt with young adults with all sorts of disabilities now advocates for this stuff, she now works in my sons school. It's very strange too that she had zero inclination for this stuff at our old work place. It's like she's been body snatched.
I just took the small victory that the head bumped the book up to 13+. She said other than that it's 'out of her hands'. It was obviously set into the curriculum by someone.

...in the early 2000s I remember reading somewhere that depression is going to be the sickness of the 2010s. People didn't want to feel weak, but it happened to a lot. It wasn't easy to admit. Still, some of them got treated for it. Hell, I was one of those, and I'm doing fine now. We are into the 2020s and people are too afraid to call this kind of psychic behavior a sickness, and the treatment for it is basically surgical, not with psychology, and there's a chance that could turn into another problem that we don't know yet
