The Last of Us' autosave has a glitch. Read if you're playing. [Apparently fixed]

Fuck, happened again after reloading the game.

Gotta give it 1 more try, if it failed again, ill stick to manual saving.
 
I'm having far worse issues. The game locked up 20 minutes in, cut to black and wouldn't go any further. Character models also disappeared and guns were floating in mid air.

I haven't even gotten passed the intro yet :(
 
Lost two hours here... In no mood to replay it either... The game is seriously underwhelming from a gameplay perspective. They've replaced the "Press up to win" mechanics from Uncharted with "slowly press up to crawl to the exit and win" stealth nonsense.

Barf.
 
Ha I thought Bioshock Infinite had a fast honeymoon.

This one only lasted a day! :P

Going to start playing tomorrow so maybe, hopefully there will be a fix. Otherwise I'll try and save manually.
 
Multiplayer is sooooooooooooo intense.

Rank 9 at the moment. I have a build which has all my points on level 2/3 perks. And only a silenced pistol.

So the idea is upgrade the handgun asap and craft traps/bombs/molotovs. Then gift them for extra points.

I fucking hate it when I miss the booster option before a match its a short ass window >:(
 
So does disabling autosave also disable in game checkpoints?

If it does that's an issue, if not...no big I'll just manual save when I'm done each session.
 
What I could imagine is that they told the reviewers that they'll fix it with a day 1 patch, however would that be still be pretty unprofessional for the reviewer if he doesn't adress it all

Completely untrue in this case. ND's review notes made no mention of anything like this bug and as I've said the test review code didn't have this bug.

There was a bug with New Game + and I made full mention of it in the review.
 
like I said before.. I have played the game for over a week.. and have not heard or seen this before people in the OT started having the problem.. so it´s not possible to report on this because it literally just started happening yesteday..

will be playing in a few hours, & gonna go the offline / no patch route. let's see what happens...

I had a similar problem with Uncharted 3.
It's either the disc or the game just not liking your PS3 for some reason. I know its odd but my UC3 had similar issues that no one else ever had.
 
From the Citizen Kane of gaming no less...and not a single word about this glitch from the gaming press who reviewed it.

Apparently it didn't happen until yesterday. People with week early copies (not reviewers/review code) played to completion with not a single hitch. Now all of a sudden it's a mass issue

Very weird then. You'd assume the review code and retail version would be the same.
 
Auto-save gets re-enabled after manual saving. So, starting a new game with it off doesn't disable it, I'm playing now, hopefully, it doesn't happen to me. Despite auto-save being re-enabled.
 
Just happened to me, but only like fifteen minutes were sacrificed. Still, it's boo.

so when you die it relies on your save when you retry, right?

I don't think so. I died a few cutscenes after the autosave glitch happened and I still respawned at the beginning of the fight.
 
What is happening?!

I'm picking up my copy tonight. Should I even bother starting it, or wait for a fix?

See, I'd turn off autosave and carry on playing - but I don't really want the immersion to be ruined by me having to continuously go into the pause menu to save every five minutes. There are some big positives to autosaves - this glitch isn't one of them :[

I presume ND will fix it up quick though.
 
Alright... now I experienced why putting reloading on the R1 is fucking stupid.

If you have a molotov or bomb equip you throw it with a simple r1.

Lost the game due to trying to reload my pistol in a rush instead I just molotovs myself

God dammit, I don't wanna have to go back to the store with it. Plus the dude said there were very few copies left so there might not be a replacement

This happened to me 3/4 of the way into the first Uncharted, tried multiple discs, would put me in the same spot and freeze up. No way around it unless you restarted the game (post trophy patch). Naughty Dog never fixed it and I swore to never buy another ND game after that and haven't (And I really, really, want to play the rest of the series after the acclaim it's gotten). Was going to break my rule and buy Last of Us ontw home from work - guess I'll pass on that...
