I wonder what other omissions they are hiding behind their press release bullshots and lack of official gameplay videos. No wonder they've simply been saying "trust us, it looks great!"

The only thing that really sloppy there is how poor quality that gif is .
Everything look wash to hell out and even colors have problems.
Not saying the game don't have any niggling issues but we have better pics for that .

Other than the ivy looking noticeavly worse and flatter, there are some other effects missing like changing wrinkles in the clothing. Who knows what other oversights we'll discover.

No wonder they wanted to hold back gameplay footage. They knew we would scrutinize and realize it was a rushed job.

Does it look better overall on ps4? Yes. But every aspect should be an improvement, not just some, with others looking worse. $50 for a mixed bag? No thanks, I'll either stick with the ps3 version or wait for a massive price drop.

The company and the ps4 is capable of much better.

Every thing looks better on the PS4 version we have other pics and even a vid that shows that (vid get taken down for now)
One poor quality gif don't change that since every game you can find few issue with some gfx at certain places.

I'm assuming the missing shadows in that PS4 screenshot is simply a glitch. To me it's very noticeable and I doubt ND would do it on purpose. No other screenshots suggest such "downgrades".

You are making some very broad assumptions based on very little evidence.

I am, even if I did switch it to 30 fps, for some reason the day one patch hasn't gone out for me yet. I think it could be that the patch isn't out yet for my region (region 3, asia).

It's been solid. Now, I am not actively observing, and I can't say for sure, but I've yet to notice a dip in the frame rate. It's been the most impressive thing out of the game for me, I am at awe with the visuals, especially the texture work, but the frame rate has been the best thing about the game.

For kicks I tested the 30 fps lock option, and after experiencing the 60 fps option for about an hour and a half prior, it felt off to me.

Perhaps i'm making assumptions I shouldn't about how Naughty Dog is behaving, but the fact that we only get down-sampled bull shots and the fact that they wouldn't release any gameplay footage at all makes me doubt their intentions were pure. I think they knew aspects of the game wouldn't hold up to close scrutiny.

Either way, I won't buy this out of principal until it's fixed and I know that there are no other oversights. I can wait to replay this game.

If it's you're first time playing the game, you'll love it regardless. The rest of us should be asking Naughty Dog how soon until the game is fixed/patched.

ND haven't justified me a repurchase... no with Destiny next month and having to renew my PS+ subscription... and with so many NEW games comming in october.

Sorry, but I won't bite.

To be true... the PS3 version looked like the PS4 version in my memories... and I hadn't any problem with the fps in the original...

until what is fix ?
Something that you have no proof of and judging the whole game by one gif .
Every game you can find something if you hold it up to close scrutiny .
When they show off photo mode that was during game play .

Not missing any effect from the PS3 version would be a start... also i can't really see any difference from the PS3 and PS4 character models if they are supposed to be the CG ones...

None of these improvements have really been that impressive imo. Looks pretty much the same to me. But I'm buying anyway simply for a new, bigger playerbase for the excellent online multiplayer :D

If I were you I would think twice about that.

I doubt it will sell more than 7 mil on PS4 alone.

Hopefully it sells at least 1 or 2 million copies and ND speeds up the sequel!

No but it will at the very least have more players online due to it being new. The PS3 version doesn't have many players online.

What I meant was the PS4 version next week will have more players than the PS3 version right now.

Can anyone with review copies confirm that the cutscene commentary has subtitles please? I am deaf and like commentaries on Blu-Rays when they have subs. Valve is a good example too :D

Yeah why are they allowed to do that? Assuming he wasn't playing a review copy or pirated copy then why would he be under any obligation to not play the game with other people seeing it? Sony can't say that "you're not allowed to play this game before release date even if your local gameshop broke the street date".

edit: you should ask in the 30fps shadow thread. there're people there who have early copies and i'm sure they can answer your question.

Traded in three games for this. They only charged me $14.40 for my PS3 Last of Us copy. Didn't notice until I got to the car and looked at the receipt:

Walked back in and calmly asked her about the half off promotion they had. The cute gal behind the counter looked it up and indeed the promotion was active. Supposedly when I pick it up they'll honor the difference and I'll put it on my Destiny LE.

Moral: Pay attention.

BTW, got over $80.00 for trading Last of Us PS3, Infamous PS4 and Watchdogs PS4, over $90 when they honor their mistake

If you had any experience with remastered games like ZOE, Shadow of the Colossus you'll realize that at times you can't really emulate a game that was hardwired to take the full potential of its previous console perfectly.

I suggest you to read on the difference between PS3 and PS4's architecture, if you still wonder on why Naughty Dog isn't doing as good as a job.you like. Emulating is not as easy you think it is.

Absolutely, but that would be a problem to take with retailers who break the street date. Does twitch ban accounts when they realise that someone is streaming a game that hasn't been officially released yet, or do they only take action when a dev/publisher requests it? Because I can't see why sony would request a ban for streaming their year-old game.

Everyone just a few more days! I can't wait to finally have the game in my hands and start playing! For me the hype is too real and I could care less about how the game looks, if it runs at 60fps instead of how the ps3 version ran than that's all I need.

No publisher or developer wants to see their game streamed/leaked all over youtube etc. before the official release. I mean there is a reason why release dates exist. Twitch closes all channels which stream games not out yet early.
