The only thing I've seen of the game were from the two official trailers. That little location/event spoiler is kind of lame. I'd have liked to have been surprised by something like that, no matter how little.

A lot of us are going into this game having only looked into the bare minimum of information about the game, but we still want to share in the excitement of threads like this and the OT.

There are some things I will spoil myself on, and with varying degrees of spoilerishness, but TLoU I was pretty much on a media blackout. I haven't even read the reviews that this thread is about. I've just been enjoying the reactions from all of you guys.

And even though I'm quoting you, I didn't even glance at the spoiler tags (which are revealed when you quote someone), so I have no idea what you said in the black bars. Lol.

People are always crying about games being overrated by the press. There was just such a thread about Bioshock Infinite. I personally think GTA4(1st or 2nd highest metacritic ever) is a piece of shit. And it will shock no one when some posters on this very forum find fault with this game.

Opinions are opinions, true. But Polygon is kind of like the black sheep since the whole documentary debacle, and giving such a low score for an otherwise incredibly rated game does not help their cause any further.

I am not saying they should just hand out tens. I am actually saying they should stop and stare in the mirror and question whether they should keep reviewing. This is not the first time where they gave very questionable scores.

Why would you go anywhere else than GAF for gaming news? Especially around the launch of a much expected game. You should know better. But yeah... people are the worst. I just fail to see the logic of the fun behind spoiling a game for everyone else. I mean, I dont really fail to understand it, but still...

The fact that he posted his opinion about a game, is valid. There is no denying that. But the fact that he is practically the only person out of the myriad of other reviewers who posted such a low score, makes me think what is going on in their right mind.

He must have felt somewhere that this game is good. Something that not every game touches.

You can say that reviews are opinions, which they are, but a reviewer of games also has to keep in mind that even though the game does not cater towards his interests, it does not automatically make it a subpar game.

He doesn't say it's a subpar game, though. 7.5 means that it's a good game.

If you have decent 5.1 speakers then go for them any day of the week. If they're shitty or you have any decent sort of headphones then go with them instead.

I wish I still had my little Onkyo 5.1 setup for this game, it's the type of game that NEEDS good surround sound to really make it shine. Those deep rumbles of the building in the demo would be badass on them. But my Beyerdynamic headphones will suffice, they're pretty beast

Headphones can give a really great experience too, but I think Naughty Dog games tend to have a very wide soundstage that benefit more from 5.1. If I could hook my PS3 into my soundcard somehow and emulate 5.1 with Dolby Headphone like I do for PC games I would be set, but my soundcard doesn't have the connections to do so AFAIK

On the topic of sound: I have a feeling that there will be an official profile released for the Stereo Pulse Headset. When Infinite was released, the sound engineer who put up the post on the PS blog said they were working with other developers on profiles.

Not iron clad proof by any means, but TLoU is the next marquee title to hit after Infinite.

On another topic, it seems odd that videogame actors are not near as well paid as their movie counterparts. By the end of the year Troy Baker will have featured as the lead in 3 games that will likely collectively have grossed over half a billion dollars.
